In today's meditation,
We're going to be exploring the void.
And yes,
The void is empty space.
It is nothing.
It is in between.
It is uncertainty.
But the void is also full of possibility and potential.
And if we never take time to clear space and to make space in our lives,
And if we're never able to be comfortable in an in-between place and an uncertainty,
Then we will miss out on some amazing opportunities that only exist when you empty out your life and create space for magic.
And so today we're going to be going into the void and exploring how it feels in our body,
How it feels to be uncertain,
And see if we can hold space for potential and possibility.
So we'll begin by coming into a comfortable position.
You can be seated or standing or laying down.
It doesn't really matter whatever feels right for you today.
And just start to.
.
.
Drop into your body.
And just take a moment to get comfortable and find a position.
That feels good.
Maybe taking a little bit of intuitive movement as you settle and find stillness.
Creating space between the shoulder blades,
In the back of the neck.
Reaching up through the top of the head and down through the tailbone.
And then as you find some length and space in your spine,
Just release any holding in your muscles.
Allow yourself to lean in and relax into your spine.
And if you haven't already,
You can begin to close your eyes.
And relax all the little muscles around your eyes.
The muscles in your forehead.
In your cheeks.
And then your jaw.
Just softening through the face.
And then allow that softening to spread down into the rest of the body.
Softening your throat and across the collarbones.
Softening all the way down your arms.
Into your fingers and allow your hands to rest.
Palms open.
Fingers,
Relax.
Softening down your torso through your heart.
Feel.
The breath as it moves through your torso,
As you soften into your belly.
Your low back and your hips.
Softening all the way down your legs,
Your knees.
Your lower legs.
Until finally you reach your feet.
Soften your toes and the bottoms of your feet.
I know it's early in the meditation.
Maybe it's hard to be still.
That's okay,
Just noticing anything that comes up.
Anything that's here right now at the beginning.
Sensations,
Emotions,
Thoughts.
All of the things that make up this moment for you and your body.
And if you haven't already,
Just gently begin to invite your breath a little bit deeper.
Finding a nice steady rhythm.
The inhale and the exhale.
Pattern in the breath that can carry you through.
And anchor you in your body as we go deeper.
Into your visualization.
Just finding that steady rhythm with your breath.
And then in your mind's eye.
In the picture a door.
And this door is going to look totally unique to you.
Maybe it's wood,
Maybe it's metal,
Maybe it has a window or an ornate doorknob.
Maybe it's a door that you recognize.
Picturing this door.
Picturing yourself standing in front of it.
And behind you.
It's all the chaos.
Of your life.
The messes that you haven't cleaned,
Emails you haven't sent,
The conversations you haven't had.
Things you said you were going to do but you haven't gotten to yet.
All of that stuff floating in the space behind you.
Fluttering up.
The energy of your day.
Cluttering up your mind.
And to an extent,
Cluttering up your physical body,
Filling it with stress.
Feeling like you're behind.
Like there's not enough time.
But in front of you,
There's this door.
And you reach out,
Take the doorknob.
And press the door open.
You walk up to the threshold.
And on the other side of the door.
There's nothing.
Empty space.
Avoid.
Take a moment.
Notice how it feels to look.
Into the void to see the nothingness,
The emptiness in front of you.
Find your breath.
When you feel ready.
Into the void.
Take a moment.
Just allow yourself to float.
In emptiness.
In the void,
There's nothing to do.
Nowhere to be.
There's just this moment,
This space,
This next breath.
And there's a sharp contrast between where we were with all of its noise and its to-dos.
And the void.
With silence and nothing.
The longer that you float here and just allow yourself to drift The less the emptiness seems empty.
The more it seems.
Full of possibility,
Potential.
Because in this space,
In this openness,
Anything can happen.
You can be.
Anyone,
You can do anything.
There is freedom.
In the space,
In the nothingness.
And so I'm going to leave just a little bit of space.
You to be in the void.
Floating and being and breathing.
All on your own.
Begin to notice your breath again.
And begin to notice the door again.
As you float over to that open door.
And pause on the threshold.
Look back at the emptiness.
Maybe.
This may be.
.
.
You want to ground that feeling.
Possibility of openness.
Into your body and into your breath.
So when you pass through the door and back.
Into all the things that need to be done.
You carry just a little bit.
Potential.
And possibility with you.
Into your day.
And as you close the door behind you and move.
Into the rest of your day.
One of the ways you can bring this potential,
This possibility into your life.
By the simple act of pausing between tasks.
Taking three deep breaths for five minutes.
Whenever you finish something,
Just allowing yourself to luxuriate.
In having it done.
And of having nothing to do for a few minutes.
And maybe eventually those few minutes will be longer,
An hour,
A few hours,
A few days.
But it can start and does always start.
With just small gaps.
Small instances of nothing.
Of finding comfort in the void.
So gently.
Just begin to deepen your breath.
Notice where you are in your physical space in relation to a wall.
To a window.
Into the floor below you.
Just slowly begin to wake up your body,
Wiggle your fingers and your toes,
Wrists and ankles.
And then when you feel ready.
.
.
You can just gently begin to open your eyes.
Thank you so much for meditating with me this morning.
My name is Emma and I will see here again soon.
Bye for now.
