Imagine if we recharged ourselves as often as we recharged our phones. This is a gentle relax and recharge meditation for busy mothers who are in need of some me-time. We often race through the day from one thing to another, but instead let us set an intention for ourselves to stop and just be. In this practice, we drop into our physical body, allowing ourselves to be held by whatever it is we are leaning or resting on and welcome a deep sense of self compassion, love and effortless calm.

Hello and welcome beautiful women,

Mamas and mamas to be.

This is a beautiful relax and recharge meditation.

I heard a quote once that gave me goosebumps and it was,

Imagine if we recharged ourselves as often as we recharged our phones.

And that really resonated with me because we can have the tendency to get really busy and to have busyness in our mind and to race through the day from one thing to another.

But I try and set an intention for myself just so that I'm not doing that and that I set aside some time.

So I really enjoy this quick relax and recharge meditation.

It can be done before school pick up,

It can be done before the dinner,

Chaos or the rice is cooking or you can do it just before you get up in the morning if you've had a bit of a rough sleep.

It's just a beautiful way to recharge your body.

So wherever you are,

Get yourself into a comfortable position.

I invite you to find a position that you feel you can exist in for the next five to ten minutes.

If there's silence then that's fine but if there's noise that's okay too.

We have to learn to work around these types of things.

So get your body into a nice relaxed position,

Whether you're sitting or lying.

And just feel into the physical body,

Just feel into the couch or the seat touching the back of your legs,

The feet touching the ground,

The back of the chair or the couch holding your back,

Just drop in.

Just take a few minutes here and let yourself feel into the physical body and feel into being held by whatever it is you're leaning on or resting on.

And then bring some awareness to your breath,

Notice what it's doing unconsciously.

The miracle of the breath is that it's always happening whether we're thinking about it or not.

So just bring some awareness to the air moving in and out of your mouth,

The way your lungs lift when you inhale,

The way they collapse when you exhale.

Just bring some conscious awareness to the breath,

Take a few nice deep breaths here.

Now bring your awareness to the very top of your head.

You can imagine a little drip of water dripping down onto the top of the head coming from the sky above.

And as this drip starts to touch you,

It's washing away any tension that you're holding in your head or your jaw or your mouth.

Just imagine the water flowing down,

Flowing down the back of the neck,

Flowing down the shoulders and the chest,

Flowing down the stomach and the back,

The sacral area and the groin.

Just imagine the water coming right from the top of your head and flushing down.

Imagine it flushing down the front of your thighs and the backs of your thighs,

The backs of the knees and the backs of the calves and then the front of the leg all the way down to the toes.

And as this water is flowing down,

It's washing away any tension.

If you need to wiggle your body and shake it out or do anything to help move that so that your body drops into a deep relaxation.

Any tense areas that pop up,

Absolutely no reason to judge,

No reason to analyze.

Just notice it,

Thank it for the awareness and let it flood away.

Flushing our body clear of any blocks or any tensions and just feeling the difference of that new state of relaxation in your body.

Taking a few more breaths here.

Now we're going to imagine the waterfall is still flowing but it's got a different intention this time.

Now we've cleared all the tension.

We're going to focus on inviting in.

What is it you would like more of today?

What is it your body needs?

Or your mind needs?

Or your heart needs?

Or your spirit needs?

Just tune into the one thing you could use more of today.

It might be energy,

It might be joy,

It might be life force,

It might be patience,

It might be relaxation,

It might be calm.

Doesn't matter what it is,

It'll come in.

What do you have an idea of what that is?

Tune into what color that might be.

What's the color?

And is there a texture?

Is there a shape?

It's okay if there's not,

It's all perfect.

If you do have an idea of what it is,

Then it's time to invite that waterfall to start flowing again.

And this time the waterfall is going to give us all of what we need,

Whatever that intention was that you just set.

We're going to get that flowing and just delivering it into every single cell.

From your hair,

From the top of your scalp,

To your forehead,

To your eyes,

To your eyebrows,

To your cheeks,

Down to the jaw,

Down to the neck and shoulders,

Just flooding your body.

With that beautiful feeling.

Down both of the arms into the heart space,

Down into the stomach and the groin,

The buttocks,

The thighs,

Down to the knees,

Down to the calves,

Down to the feet.

Just imagine this waterfall penetrating all of the cells of your body,

Filling you up with everything you need to face the rest of the day.

Beautiful.

Just take another few breaths here,

Feeling into the feeling,

How different and nourished you feel.

Breathing that in.

Now to close off,

I'm just going to chant three om's and as you hear the sound of the om,

Just feel it penetrate your whole body with whatever that intention was that you set from the beginning.

Om.

Om.

Om.

Om.

Om.

Om.

Om.

Om.

Om.

Om.

Om.

Om.

Om.

Om.

Om.

Well done.

Just take a few minutes here and when it feels right,

Just wiggle your toes,

Your hands.

When you feel ready to come back into the room you can open your eyes.

This was perfect! I loved the thought of recharging myself as often as we do or cellphones. So often as mothers were pulled in every direction and no one is thinking of what we need. This is a great way and reminder to try to add something back to our cup. A way to start recharging our battery so that we are better versions of ourselves.
