Go ahead and find yourself in a comfortable spot,
You can be lying down or seated.
The main thing is you just want to be upright,
Sorry not upright,
But your spine straight.
So if you're lying down,
That's fine,
Just as long as your spine is straight.
We're just going to come into our meditation sanctuary,
Which is kind of like in the center of our head,
Command central,
We're just reconnecting our body,
Our mind,
Just coming into the present moment,
I often think of meditation as a mental exercise,
Which of course it is,
But it's also an embodiment exercise,
Coming into our senses,
Just becoming aware of what's going on with your body at this moment in time.
Let's do our three deep breaths,
Breathing in through our nose and out through our mouth.
Let's set our grounding cord,
So as you start to become aware of your body,
You can start to just notice that familiar tug of gravity,
The weight of your arms and your legs,
Maybe start to feel where your bum hits your chair or your cushion,
Just reminding yourself of that tug,
And let's set our grounding cord,
My friend likes to use the image of a laundry chute,
Just send your dirty laundry down the laundry chute,
It just goes and flows into some other earth,
She's so much wiser and older and stronger than any of our human experiences,
So it doesn't bother her one bit,
Or a more poetic experience,
You might choose a waterfall,
Tree roots,
Whatever works,
Just make sure whatever you use is secured in your mind's eye as wide as your hips,
So you really have that solid support,
The grounding cord comes off your sits bones,
Through your cushion or your chair,
Travels all the way down into the earth,
Now with each exhale,
Just allowing,
There's no efforting,
There's nothing you have to do,
It's just a simple intention of letting go,
Allowing what doesn't serve you today to pass through your body,
And absorbed by mother earth,
Start to feel a beautiful two way connection with the earth,
You're in breath,
You're allowing the earth and plants and the trees and the oceans to nourish you with that pure oxygen,
With your exhale,
You're again just letting go,
It's almost like by exhaling,
You're just creating space for the inhale to come in and fill you up with whatever would serve you today,
Positivity,
Productivity,
Maybe just the trust and the cycles and rhythms of life,
You're just recalibrating to the pace and the nourishment of the earth right now,
You're calibrating your body and your breath to the earth,
If you think about it with mother earth,
It's like everything is accomplished but nothing feels hurried or rushed,
Growth happens,
I measured the heartbeat of the earth and it's something like eight hertz,
Which is a really low frequency,
We're going to gently move our attention up into our chest and our back,
Remembering that this is an embodiment exercise,
So just checking in with your body,
Feeling your shoulder blades and space,
Maybe they gently move down your back,
Just going to allow our spirit and our mentality to rise a little bit above that grounded earth energy,
If it feels appropriate and easy for you,
Feel free to connect into sky energy,
So it's more of the get up and go,
I kind of call it the caffeinated energy here,
So you can just invite starlight,
Cosmic chi just to come in through the crown of your head,
And it just kind of reigns over you,
There's countless traditions who have combined heaven and earth in the human body,
Rituals and ceremonies and martial arts to do that,
So we're just doing it with a simple intention here,
Bringing in heaven and earth,
We're going to do a simple energetic body scan,
We'll just move through the seven chakras,
I just invite you to bring your awareness there,
Just like we would do with a physical body scan,
And just continue to use your grounding cord to ground off any negativity,
Starting at the crown of the head,
The seventh chakra,
If you invited in star energy,
This should be open and receptive,
It's really where you hold seniority in your world,
Your unique gifts,
Just allowing yourself to be yourself in this world,
Where just a bias to conform and feel like we need to belong,
Which we do,
But being our unique selves,
Such a powerful gift to others,
So just allowing your seventh chakra to be receptive and powerful,
That you have permission to be yourself,
Down into our sixth chakra,
This is known as our meditation sanctuary or the intuitive chakra,
Just a spot right in the center of the head,
This is where we're able to see our next steps,
See clearly,
Perceive,
So again,
There's nothing you really need to do,
We're just acknowledging these energetic centers and over time,
You'll just start to get to know your energetic body,
Just like you know where the aches and pains are in your joints or your physical body,
This is just kind of an inquiry and experience in knowing ourselves and where we may feel blocked or anxious,
I like to try to see in 360 degrees from the sixth chakra,
Obviously it's an inner seeing,
We're not opening our eyes,
We're just aware of the space around us,
So again,
It's embodiment,
Moving down into our fifth chakra,
Our throat chakra,
This is where we are able to express ourselves truthfully,
Powerfully,
Creatively with our words,
So if you know you have to command some meetings today or do some public speaking,
You can just have the intention that you're gonna open up your fifth chakra,
So the chakras sort of like apertures on a camera,
You can open and close them,
So you might just set the intention at 85%,
90%,
Whatever feels right for you,
Moving down into our heart chakra,
This is where we hold compassion for self and others,
Again,
If you want to have a really tender experience today and be receptive to others,
Love and compassion and if you want to give freely,
Then I invite you to open up your heart,
But again,
That might not be safe for you today,
That might not be what feels right today,
Moving down into our third chakra,
It's right at the solar plexus diaphragm,
This is our willpower,
Our to-do list,
This is kind of like getting things done,
Pushing through,
Let's just set the intention of resetting the third chakra,
It's just an easy hum,
Everything's gonna get done,
There's plenty of time,
Moving down into our second chakra,
This is just below the navel,
This is where we hold emotional boundaries between self and others,
Sort of protecting what's you and what is other,
It's also where we feel pleasure and play and have the intention if we want to bring more just relaxation and play into our life,
So again,
Just kind of,
It's just a simple inquiry,
How is this chakra doing,
What's my intention for this energetic center,
We have so much power over our experience from day to day,
But often we forget,
We do have the power to set our energetic frequency for ourselves and others,
And finally our root chakra,
We've all had that experience when the root chakra gets triggered when we feel threatened or unsafe in an interaction or an experience,
That's the flight or fight mechanism kicking in in our body,
The first chakra governs sense of belonging,
Community,
Financial and emotional well-being and stability,
We're just gonna set this at safety,
Connection,
Part of a tribe,
While we're down here,
Let's go ahead and double check our grounding cord,
Because often we can just,
It gets a little lost,
So just make sure your grounding cord,
Whatever you're using,
Is as wide as your hips,
And that it's still functioning,
Like you're still using it to ground off,
What's interesting and fascinating to me and perhaps to you,
Is that each chakra governs one layer of our aura,
It's hard to say that word,
Aura,
So we have seven layers of our aura,
So we're gonna go in reverse order,
We're just gonna connect to each layer,
Since we're down at the first chakra,
The first chakra governs,
It's just like an energetic skin,
The aura is just an energetic skin,
Skin,
You know,
Protects your body,
Sort of a barrier between the outside and the inside world,
So in the same way,
The aura is a barrier between the energetic,
Sort of it maintains your energetic body,
From the exterior world,
What's not yours,
We're just gonna imagine with the first chakra,
And we just have a layer of aura,
And it's just the exact same shape as our body,
You can just imagine a layer right next to your skin,
And you're just gonna take a little,
Gonna visualize a little pulse of light,
Just a little beam of light,
And it just simply goes around that first auric layer,
Which really means it just follows the contour of your body,
And if there's any tears or crinkles or rips in that energetic skin,
That little light just easily smooths that out,
Just take a minute or a few seconds to imagine that pulse of light,
Moving around the contour of your body,
That's all you need to do,
Moving up to the second chakra below the navel,
This governs the second layer of your auric skin,
So just a little bit,
One layer out from that first layer,
You're just gently imagining that beam of light following the contour of your body,
And repairing as it goes any damage,
Moving up to the third auric layer associated with the third chakra,
Fourth auric layer with your heart,
Fourth chakra is compassion,
So now that auric skin is four layers deep,
And again,
You're just kind of creating this protective bubble,
Fifth chakra,
Sixth chakra,
And now to your sixth layer of the aura,
And finally your seventh chakra,
Your crown chakra,
And by this point,
Your aura is probably pretty wide and thick,
And so it may be more like an egg shape,
Right,
With your seventh chakra,
It can be the contour of your body,
Or it may just be like that final layer,
You can imagine the light encircling you at that outermost layer,
Repairing any bumps and bruises,
Beautiful,
So in just a minute,
I'll ring the bell,
But I invite you throughout your day today to imagine the protection and the extent of the aura that you just reinforced and became aware of,
