What is Your Body?

It is Everything.

Do Keeps Grabbing making any adjustments so that your body is You can leave it without having to worry about it.

And you may notice if there's any tension in your body.

Scan through and notice if there's any tension.

If there is,

Put your awareness there.

No need to do anything.

Just notice.

That's very good.

And notice what happens when you put your attention where the tightness is.

Without doing anything at all.

That's very good.

And now put your attention on your breathing,

The body's breathing.

You might notice that just by putting your awareness there,

Breathing changes quite naturally.

That's very good.

And the one who's noticing that can open,

Fall backwards and down,

Into a different scene altogether.

Let's imagine you're standing at the elevator of your life,

And you're on the same floor as your age.

And when you push the button and the light lights up,

The elevator's at your floor,

Which is your age,

You can get in.

And as you go down,

Floor by floor,

It might feel like you're sinking or feel like you're floating or have any other strange sensation.

But as you drop below the age you are now,

Back down deeper,

You'll notice that parts of yourself start to disappear.

What if all of your relationships,

All of your marriages and lovers are on the floor above,

And you're before that?

And what if you drop down,

Floor by floor,

Deeper and deeper too,

Before your jobs,

Whatever your last job is or was,

Deeper than that.

And deeper than the one before that.

So as you fall in,

Down,

Deeper,

Floor by floor,

Pieces of the story of yourself are left behind.

Your work,

Your relationships,

Your family.

And as you drop down,

You get to the floors where it's all about your immediate family growing up.

And let that disappear until you're back,

All the way to childbirth,

All the way down to the basement,

To the zero.

And when the elevator door opens at zero,

There's a mirror in front of you.

Look into the mirror and what do you see?

And whatever is seeing in the mirror turns back to look at itself,

To see what's here.

What is this?

What am I?

That's very good.

You're doing really well.

And now when the elevator door closes and you start going back up through the floors to being born into a body,

To having parents,

And to see how old were your parents at that floor?

What were they like when you were born?

How old were they?

How mature were they?

Can you see them with new eyes?

I don't know what floor the brothers or sisters might be,

But you do.

They may already be here when you're born or they may come later,

It doesn't matter.

What if you see them with new eyes?

That's very good.

As you go up through the floors,

Through schools and dating and jobs,

You can start to feel that weight as the elevator goes up and you're pushed back down by the weight of the accumulating identities.

And notice what happens as you go up through the floors and pick up jobs and lovers and partners.

You keep going all the way up.

That's very good.

Very good.

And now when you get to your floor of the age that you are now,

When the elevator door opens,

What's it like to be purity,

Shining out through the layers of identities that you've picked up along the way?

How do you face the world differently?

How do you invite everything?

That's very good.

And what's the experience of being alone in this moment,

With nothing to cling to?

That's very good.

Is it possible to experience gratefulness in the moment of alone?

What happens when gratefulness is experienced in the same moment as being alone?

That's very good.

You might be surprised to discover how this continues for you in different ways.

How at different times you may find yourself in a space where something holds you,

Something calls you,

Something unveils.

That's so beautiful.

And if you surrender in this moment,

Your control over the future.

Yes.

Notice how it changes the point of view.

That's very good.

When you're ready,

Body awareness will return quite naturally.

It might seem like you're in a body,

It might seem like the body's in you,

It doesn't matter.

And as it does,

And as you become aware of your hands and feet,

Aware of the body's breathing,

Your side deepens in its integrity,

In its wisdom,

In its capacity,

Quite naturally,

Effortlessly.

Bless you.

Amen.
