Welcome to Guided Jewish Meditations.

My name is Eliezer.

The biblical commandment to wear tzitzit or fringes on four cornered garments contains within it a sacred meditation relating to the blue dye that is used to dye some of the strings of the tzitzit garment.

This blue dye,

Tekheilis in ancient Hebrew,

Is secreted by a snail that lives in the Mediterranean Sea.

Within this beautiful indigo blue lies the secret of the meditation of the tekheilis strings.

During today's meditation we will explore these secrets.

Please find a quiet place where you can meditate.

Sit or lay down,

Close your eyes,

And allow your body and mind to relax.

Begin breathing slowly,

Evenly,

Further relaxing your mind.

As you breathe in,

Feel the air flow into your body,

Illuminating your mind and soul.

And as you exhale,

Consciously remove from your body any feelings of stress,

Fear,

Or anxiety leaving all expectations behind.

Continue breathing this way until your mind is completely relaxed and ready to begin the journey of the tekheilis dye.

You awaken in the midst of a small island,

The gentle sea surrounding you from all sides.

Standing on soft white sand,

You experience the warm touch of the air surrounding you.

You take a deep breath and let the fresh warm air into your body.

You look down and find yourself holding a set of tekhelis strings,

Their indigo blue catching the rays of the sun,

Bathing them in spiritual light.

The strands of wool surround your fingers as you experience the warm soft texture of the tzitzit strings.

As you meditate on these strings,

You see the blue of the tekhelis begin to radiate outwards,

Filling the air between you with shimmering blue light.

As the light moves towards you,

It enters your eyes,

Surrounds your mind,

And fuses itself with your soul,

Filling it with its blue radiance.

You begin to experience a connection with what lies beyond,

With the source of this blue,

But also the source of the life of your soul.

Taking a deep breath,

You close your eyes and meditate on this divine connection,

Allowing the indigo blue of the tekhelis strings to fuse itself with this connection,

Becoming one with it.

You begin to experience a connection with what lies beyond,

With the source of the blue.

As you continue meditating on this blue,

You feel a shift in the air surrounding you.

Opening your eyes,

You look around and realize that the sea has changed its colors.

It has taken on a deep indigo blue,

Similar in color to the tekhelis strings in your hand.

The gentle waves that wash against the sand around you radiate with divine light,

The air surrounding them shimmering into the distance.

As you allow your mind to focus on these waves,

You feel the blue light that was emanating from the strings in your hand flow in all directions,

Surrounding you outwards.

As this blue light reaches the waves,

You see the air all around you briefly flash as a new spiritual reality sets in.

In an instant,

You are raised high above the earth as you come to rest above the endless reach of the ocean,

Extending into an eternity of light.

The vastness of the world beneath you overcomes your emotions as you meditate on the billions of lives that find their home on this beautiful magical planet.

All of life,

Surrounded by this vast indigo blue ocean,

Is connected to a common source.

Existence depends on this connection,

The same connection that the tekhelis strings in your hand and your soul depend on.

As this truth enters your mind and soul,

You experience the unity of creation,

The divine light of the infinite creator connected to the very essence of planet earth,

Uniting all.

Meditate on this truth.

Allow yourself to become part of this vastness,

The ocean and all life connected to it,

One unity,

One with the source of all life.

You You As you continue your meditation of the ocean expanding beneath you a Radiant flash of light illuminates the world around you Briefly blinding you with its light Once again,

You feel a shift in the divine air surrounding you as you feel time and space standstill in The complete stillness of your mind you take a deep breath Close your eyes and allow your mind to completely take over You contemplate the vastness of space out of the 100 billion galaxies in the universe The Milky Way was chosen with its 200 billion stars to be home to our Sun There are 25 million million billion stars in the universe Each one a raging nuclear inferno of raw power and energy Allow the enormity of this number to enter your mind and soul Experience the dichotomy of life the realization of how infinitely insignificant we are in comparison to the whole yet how infinitely divine we are as well the recipient of a divine soul a very piece of the infinite source as You continue meditating on these truths you open your eyes and behold the vastness of the sky above you shimmering with the same indigo blue light as the strings in your hand and the expanse of the ocean beneath you as the beauty of this unity Unfolds into your mind and soul you allow yourself to become one with all of existence the incomprehensible size of all of creation all its galaxies planets molecules and subatomic particles all connected to a common source the creator of all keeping everything alive at every moment You You You As you continue meditating on the unity of all Your mind's eye opens within your soul and you behold before you a path of glowing divine Extending into infinity It is the divine light that connects your mind and so with the eternal creator Before you lies the world of the spirit the true source and wellspring of all of creation It is within this world that all of existence finds its source Taking a deep breath you allow your soul to guide you along this path From the very core of your soul that indigo blue light begins to extend outwards along this path showing you the way as You follow along this path you feel time and space fade further into the back of your mind as Your soul reaches out and becomes part of this spiritual world It is here at the threshold to the divine that the physical becomes the metaphysical Where matter becomes spirit and where the true source of all of existence finds its roots This is the throne of glory The point where nothing else exists,

This is a beautiful and profound guided meditation. Although the Hebrew words were not familiar to me, I was very drawn to this meditation and to the color blue. It was easy and very familiar to go where the meditation took me, made even more profound by the music which so perfectly accompanied the words. I feel peacefully transformed.
