18. Divine Awareness
Divine Awareness is the constant companionship of the Infinite Creator, with you always. This was the nature of the life of King David, whose Book of Psalms inspired this guided meditation. Join me as we traverse four stages of Divine awareness, leading us away from feelings of loneliness and depression, and closer to a life of purpose and Divine meaning.

Hello,
Welcome to Guided Jewish Meditations.
My name is Eli Yasser.
The journey we are about to embark on can change your life.
It can fill it with purpose,
Fight depression and anxiety,
And bring you joy and harmony.
To have divine awareness is to live a life infused with purpose,
With divine light,
And to be an integral part of a universal plan,
One with all of creation.
It is to live in constant awareness of a single,
All-encompassing Creator,
Of a source of all existence,
A divine mind that has given you this life,
This soul that allows you to connect to its source.
To walk with divine awareness is to infuse your life with a mission,
To live a life of meaning and purpose,
Of kindness and of love,
And to bring light into your family,
Your community and your world.
During today's meditation,
We will go through four stages of divine awareness.
As we do this,
Allow your mind to gradually experience the divine reality around you,
Thereby connecting to it.
The more you make this connection a companion in your life,
The more it can help you on your mission in life.
Imagine not having to sit and meditate to reach a deeper level of divine consciousness.
Imagine being in such control of your mind to be able to achieve single-mindedness on the spot at will.
This was the power of King David,
The one who made divine awareness his goal in life.
The Book of Psalms is a testament to a man in possession of such a lofty soul connection to the infinite source.
His life's work remains the single most read book in the history of the world.
It is a timeless work so sublime,
Holy and divine,
It has forever imprinted itself onto the hearts and souls of all of humanity.
Today we will try to be inspired by his work.
Please find a quiet,
Comfortable place.
During the next 30 minutes or so,
We will attempt to reach a deep state of meditation.
To achieve this,
It is important that you remain uninterrupted.
Sit or lay down and relax your body and mind.
Close your eyes and begin breathing deeply and evenly.
Try and focus your mind on your breathing.
As you inhale,
In your mind's eye,
Take a hold of the air entering your body and allow it to enter your mind and soul,
Filling you with life and light.
Then,
As you exhale,
Relax your body into what's beneath you and expel from your body and mind all stress,
Expectations and anxiety.
Let go of all negative energy.
Continue breathing this way for another minute or so until your body is completely relaxed,
Your mind in a deep state of relaxation and your soul at the center of your being shining with divine light,
Ready to begin this journey of awareness.
Hoon you.
Clear your mind of all thought.
Do this slowly,
Gently,
Softly pushing away your thoughts until your mind is completely clear.
If ideas or images begin to appear at the edges of your mind,
Don't force them away.
Instead,
Allow them to linger for a few moments and then gently allow them to dissipate into nothingness.
Keep undoing this until your mind is still and steady,
A canvas upon which to draw a divine connection.
Breathe in deeply.
Now meditate on the simple acknowledgement of your existence.
This is the first step.
Your life,
Your world and your reality exist.
At the edge of this reality,
At its very outer boundary yet very much attached to it,
Is another truth.
That of purpose.
The very fact that anything exists at all is the testament of the existence of a creator,
Someone who decided to create you and all you know in your world.
To acknowledge existence is,
In essence,
To also accept the existence of purpose and meaning of this existence.
Allow this truth,
Barely within your frame of mind,
To slowly fill the void between it and the center of your being.
Slowly allow it to move inwards,
Through the area of thought that surrounds your core and to fill it with a gentle light that radiates outwards.
This is the divine purpose in your life,
The mission for which you have received this soul within you that allows you to think and feel and that keeps you alive at every moment.
Act on this purpose and allow it to fill you with warmth and light.
As you continue to meditate on this purpose,
You experience a realization that emanates from deep within your mind.
This purpose,
The acknowledgement that life has meaning,
Is both a responsibility as well as a source of contentment and,
Ultimately,
Joy.
This purpose surrounds you and acts as your shield.
It protects you from following a path that leads your soul apart from its infinite source and its divine mission.
It encourages you to live a life of virtue,
Of values,
Of following a path of kindness and love.
Purpose and meaning give your life a divine light,
An infinitely important reason to get up every morning and live a divine life.
It is the antidote to depression,
Despair and feelings of loneliness and anxiety.
Take a deep breath as you meditate on the second step of divine awareness,
On the deep contentment and intense joy that stems from truly acquiring a sense of mission in life.
You exist for this purpose.
Staying on the path of your journey in life is to live life to its very fullest,
Not a day lived in vain or regret.
Meditate on your mission and journey in life and acknowledge it as the reason for your existence.
As your meditation on your divine purpose intensifies,
You become aware of an endless aura that envelops you and contains you,
A divine reality that surrounds you from all sides.
Your meditation begins to take on a different spiritual form as the aura vibrates in your mind and soul.
The source of your purpose,
The very reason anything exists,
Begins to surround you,
Come closer and fill you with a warm light.
It connects with you,
Deep within your soul,
A truth that finds its source beyond all space and time.
Take a deep breath and focus your meditation on this source.
It is the divine mind that has created you,
The origin of what you are.
Allow this reality,
The third step of this meditation,
To slowly fill you with its light.
It is the ultimate goal of all,
The united purpose of all of existence,
To become one with this source of all reason,
The divine cause of all.
It is why anything exists at all,
To fulfill its purpose,
To once again become one with its source.
As the final step of this meditation approaches,
You fill your entire being with this awareness,
This endless,
All-encompassing and infinite existence that permeates and contains all.
This awareness is what King David spoke of as he declared the words,
I have placed the eternal before me always.
It is an ever-present,
Complete dedication to a life lived according to the divine mind,
Delivered to us in the form of divine wisdom.
This divine awareness is your constant companion in life,
Your creator before you,
Not just as a distant king,
Or a nearby helper,
Or even someone right next to you,
Touching you,
Saving you.
No,
Your companion is one with you,
Always connected to your soul,
Infusing you with life,
Ever-present,
Forever full of compassion and love.
Your struggles are your creator's struggles,
Your joy,
The joy of the infinite source of all.
Meditate on this divine awareness.
It is a reality that awaits you to discover it,
Explore it,
And make it yours.
It is both the purpose of your life as well as the reward for your efforts.
Dedicate yourself to a life lived with this awareness,
Always watching,
Always listening,
Always helping,
And always with you.
As we approach the conclusion of this meditation,
Take a number of deep breaths and relax your body and mind.
Breathing back to the present can sometimes take some time.
Thank you for joining me today.
It is my sincere wish that this meditation has helped you a little bit on your journey of becoming more aware of your divine nature.
My name is Eliezer.
May peace be with you.

I found that this mediation gives you time to reflect during it. It is really thought-provoking. I was able to discover my divine purpose! I feel so much more ready to brace the world and share it. Thank you for this purposeful meditation. I’m excited to listen to your other meditations. If you’re not Jewish, like me, don’t turn it off when it mentions it being a Jewish meditation. Listen to it all! Don’t be deterred by that - give it a chance.

This resonated deeply with my Jewish soul and the particularly Jewish idea that we are here for a divine mission. However I think anyone who is seeking to live with purpose and to embody their unique vision would find this meditation valuable. Thank you, Eliezer, for creating this mediation. 🙏
