Welcome to this guided meditation to help you reflect on,
Honor,
And release the past,
Making space for renewal and for all that you're desiring to flow in.
If you have not already done so,
Go ahead and close your eyes and bring your attention and awareness to your breath.
Just noticing the quality and the temperature of your inhale as the cool air enters through your nose and leaves on the exhale.
Realizing that the inhale creates expansion and space in your body and the exhale naturally invites a gentle relaxation and a release in your shoulders and your neck.
As you continue to breathe in your own natural cycle,
Let's take this time right now to notice and consciously become aware of any tension you may be holding in your body,
Starting at the top of your head.
And just noticing the magic of bringing your attention and awareness allows you to consciously release tension,
Even if it's just a little bit of tension.
Giving your attention to yourself allows you to notice,
Allows you to consciously shift,
And invites an invitation to disconnect from the external noise and focus within.
As I mentioned each body part,
Allow it to relax and soften even by one or two degrees as you continue inhaling and exhaling.
Bringing softness and awareness to your scalp,
Your ears,
Your face,
The small muscles behind your eyes,
Your cheeks,
Your jaws,
Letting your lips part,
Holding softness in your face,
Noticing all those tiny little muscles behind your eyes,
Allowing them to soften.
Continuing to gently inhale and exhale in a rhythm that is perfect for your body.
Bringing attention and awareness to your neck muscles,
Your shoulders,
Your arms,
Your hands,
Allowing your palms to be up facing the sky as if in recognition that this is time to receive.
Continuing to inhale and exhale,
Bringing your attention and awareness to your chest,
Your back,
Your solar plexus,
And your belly.
Just noticing that the inhale fills your inner landscape with oxygen and space,
And the exhale invites a deeper sense of relaxation,
Allowing you to soften into the moment,
Simply listening to my voice,
Relaxing your body.
There's nothing to do.
There's nowhere to go.
As you continue breathing,
Bringing attention and awareness to your hips,
Your legs,
Your toes,
And your feet.
Just taking a moment to acknowledge that even now,
Just a few moments of conscious relaxation slows everything down,
Brings your focus inward,
And allows you to notice your energy,
Your mood,
And any thoughts that might be flowing through.
As you continue breathing and relaxing,
Let's take a journey into your internal landscape.
In your mind's eye,
I invite you to locate a room.
Perhaps it's a room that you've been in before.
Perhaps it's one that you've seen on screens or envisioned in stories you've read.
This room is a library,
Or perhaps a den in a home you've been in.
And in this room,
As you step inside and look around,
You notice a beautiful fire burning in a fireplace,
Crackling,
Warming the room,
Creating a warm glow and a soft environment for you to enter.
There's nobody else in this room.
As you look around,
You notice that the room is decorated perfectly for you.
As you look to the right,
You notice a beautiful,
Warm,
Cozy,
Inviting chair with soft pillows and a blanket.
This chair is calling you for as if it was perfectly made just for you.
As you sit in the chair and get cozy,
Allowing the warmth of the fire to warm you up,
You look on the table next to the chair and you notice a book.
It's not just any book.
This book was made for you.
It's a compilation of images and words that represent you,
Your past,
And aspects and situations in your life that are ready to be seen,
Acknowledged,
Honored,
And released.
Take a moment right now and pick up this book and start to turn the pages.
This book represents the last year gone by,
All of its ups and downs,
All of its moments of grief and gratitude,
Celebration,
And changes.
Take the next few moments in silence,
Sensing that you're about to reflect and honor the past by bringing your attention and awareness to it.
Without diving too deeply in any one situation,
I invite you to scan the book and reflect on any memories over this last year,
Paying particular attention to anyone that creates a feeling of joy or sadness or connection.
Take some time now and look through this book of the year gone by.
Take a moment.
You'll notice that some memories seem very clear and close by,
And others perhaps were a little blurry or created emotions that you'd rather put behind you.
We are this beautiful puzzle of memories,
And some we get to choose to bring up to conjure joy and others that didn't feel so good we'd rather put away and not visit very often.
But we can remember right now that there is no good or bad in judging ourselves instead by taking this moment we get to honor all that has come before knowing that the experiences have turned into wisdom,
Lessons,
And a richness in our lives.
So right now,
Whether you choose to say it in your mind's eye or out loud,
Thank your memories and thank this last year gone by by simply saying thank you for the experiences,
The lessons,
And the guidance.
Thank you for the experiences,
The lessons,
And the guidance.
By placing your hands on the book and doing one final round of gratitude in your own words,
You've now taken time to acknowledge and honor that all that has come prior to this moment has been filled with a combination of emotions.
Some welcome,
Some unwelcome,
But they're yours.
Right now,
You have a choice and there's no right and there's no wrong.
You can decide to keep the book on this table and let it be part of the quilt of your memory or you can decide to place the book in the fireplace and let the alchemy of fire release the energy of the past,
Creating space for a future that you get to design.
There's no right or wrong.
Either place the book back on the table,
Letting it be there so you can visit anytime you like,
Or you can stand up and place the book in the fireplace and let the fire work its magic.
Once you've chosen and completed this ritual,
Come back to the chair and notice that there's a blank piece of paper and a pen waiting for you.
As you think about your future and the coming year,
I invite you to take a moment and write down either a word or a sentence of intention.
It could be something as simple as,
I intend to create joy.
I intend to seek peace.
I intend to be present for those I love and for every interaction I have,
Or something a little more mysterious,
Like I am open to the future with an open heart.
Or perhaps you can write a word or two as your intention for the year.
It could be joy,
Discernment,
Connection.
Again there is no right or wrong here.
I'll give you a moment now to tune in and ask your innermost self what you intend to create and call in for the year ahead.
Take that time right now.
Let's people feel united and together.
You might find that the word or the intention came easily to you in this moment.
Or perhaps nothing clear arrived.
And that's okay.
It's simply an invitation to create some time and space and call it in.
Ask for guidance.
Create some stillness to just listen and allow your intention to be revealed.
Go ahead and put down a pen.
Take a moment to look around this room.
Noticing any art hanging on the wall.
Perhaps there's pictures of loved ones past and present.
This is your space.
Your space to come to find stillness.
To reflect on the past.
To honor the present.
And intentionally create your future.
You can simply come back to the space anytime by settling in,
Taking a deep breath.
Closing your eyes.
Stepping inside the room.
And taking a seat in this chair.
For now,
It's time to rise and leave the room.
Making your way back to the door.
Bringing yourself back to your body.
Taking a nice deep breath in.
And releasing with a deep exhale and a sigh.
Bringing yourself for taking this time to look back,
To honor,
And to create.
Take this time to either rub your hands together,
Gently open your eyes and rub your hands on your legs.
Bringing you back to your body.
Taking time to reflect,
Perhaps making some notes in your journal.
Being curious about what came up.
And being intentional about moving forward.
Thank you for taking this journey with me today.
I'll see you on the next episode.
