This is a meditation to help you quiet the noise and listen to that inner knowing,
Your inner voice,
That part of you that knows without knowing,
That sees without seeing,
And hears without hearing.
It's that part of you that is always present.
Whenever you're ready,
Find a comfortable position that allows your body to release the need to hold on.
Whether you're lying down,
Sitting in a chair,
Flat on the floor,
Or cozy in bed,
Right now is the perfect time to listen.
Allow your breath to soften and deepen.
Listening is not about trying or doing more.
Listening is about getting present and simply allowing your awareness to expand beyond the noises that you hear.
Without judgment,
Without control,
Without trying to fix,
Simply allow your senses to notice.
If you have not done so,
Go ahead and close your eyes softly and just notice.
Notice where your vision has gone.
Sometimes your vision goes internal and you begin to see behind the back of your eyes.
Perhaps you're seeing colors.
Perhaps you're beginning to see stars or shades of light from sun or light from within the room that you're in right now.
Notice any external noises,
Whether it's cars,
Voices,
Machines,
Phones.
Just notice.
Let's take the next minute or so to fully listen.
Begin with all of your senses without judgment and just notice what's around you and within you right now.
Let's take a minute or so to fully listen.
Let's take a minute or so to fully listen.
Allowing yourself to come back fully,
Allowing the alarm to be part of the landscape,
Allowing every noise around you to be exactly what it is.
You're also creating space for the inner voice to come through loud and clear.
In this practice of listening,
Breathing softly and allowing the external noise to just be,
Begin to soften the resistance and the sense of control that we ultimately do not have on the external world and bring that locus of control,
Softness,
Acceptance,
Presence to our inner world.
The next time you're feeling overwhelmed by the outside world,
Instead of trying to change it,
I invite you to get present and practice this active listening without trying to change it,
Without trying to judge it or making it mean anything other than what it is.
Sound.
Blessings on the rest of your day or evening.
May you find the silence that you seek.
