Welcome yourself to this moment.
This meditation is for when the mind is swirling and you feel like you cannot stop overthinking.
This meditation will help you slow the mind down and create a little bit more space between you and your thoughts.
Your thoughts will be okay without you.
You will be okay without your thoughts.
Start to turn inward,
Closing your eyes if that feels safe.
Start to shift into the observer.
You are witnessing your thoughts.
Inhale slowly through your nose.
Exhale out your mouth.
Allow the breath to start to slow down the mind.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Breathe in.
Exhale.
In order to quiet the mind,
We do not need to free ourselves of all of our thoughts.
We need to free ourselves of judgment.
It is okay to overthink.
It is okay to sometimes have a mind that is racing.
There is nothing wrong with you.
Breathe in and let it go.
Now,
The practice is in how we can shift our attention.
We can give our thoughts somewhere else to go.
Imagine your thoughts resting onto clouds.
Each of your thoughts,
Especially the ones that are repeating,
Imagine them resting gently into different clouds in the sky,
Allowing the clouds to hold the weight of your thoughts.
Feeling the tension,
The pressure release from your mind.
Letting the thoughts drift away.
Empty your mind.
Maybe one by one,
The thoughts continue to be let free from your mind.
And carry on slowly through a cloud.
And you are the observer,
Just witnessing the thoughts arise and drift on by.
You are not your thoughts.
You are the caretaker of your thoughts.
You hold steady as your thoughts float on by.
Remembering that you are the sky.
You are not the weather.
You are not the clouds,
The thoughts.
In the sky,
You are the one holding space.
You are the one that is aware.
Breathe in,
Let it go.
Notice how your perspective feels shifted now.
Your thoughts are outside of you.
They're not within you,
Bouncing around in your mind.
Your thoughts are drifting away slowly into the depths of the clouds where they can be carried.
And you can feel free.
Empty your mind.
Feel the peace in letting go.
Continue to observe your thoughts on the clouds drifting,
Floating on by.
Notice how your mind feels now.
This is a practice you can come back to.
Set your thought free.
Let it drift,
Let it go.
And return to your breath again and again.
Inhale.
Exhale.
From here,
Let go of your thoughts.
From my heart to yours.
