I know the feeling of the heaviness of comparison. We can spend so much energy wishing we had someone else's life or success. When in reality, we have no idea what it actually takes to be where they are. This meditation will help you retrieve some of the energy that has been spent comparing your life to others. It will help you remember all that you are and return to your enoughness.

My friend,

This is for you to slow down and realize that you do not have to waste energy comparing yourself to others.

There is room for you,

And there is only one you,

And that is enough.

Breathe in deeply,

Exhale,

Closing your eyes if you haven't already.

Comparison happens in the thinking mind.

We overthink and overanalyze,

And we wish parts of ourselves away.

We think if only I was like that person,

Or had their success,

Or their confidence,

Then I'd be happy.

Just breathe in here and notice the mind comparing.

Gain clarity here on the comparison.

Breathe in deeply,

And let it go.

Know that it is only human of you to compare.

It really is just another survival instinct,

Our innate desire to want to thrive and be the best so that we can survive.

But my friend,

You are safe,

And you have everything you need right now.

Comparison says that we are lacking,

That we need this or that.

You are not lacking.

When we compare,

We think that we need more,

Or we need to be less.

The problem here isn't in what you are lacking,

Or in what you are in need of.

The problem is the belief that you need to change.

You can rest in who you are,

And let go of comparison.

Return to the steep knowing that you are enough.

Nothing needs to change.

You are enough.

Inhale slowly,

Exhale let it go.

When we compare to other people,

We actually have no idea what we are wanting,

What we are really comparing to.

We don't see what goes on behind the scenes.

We don't really know what it takes to live their life.

We don't know the journey they have traveled to get to where they are.

We are just comparing to this moment in time.

So whenever you find yourself comparing,

Remember,

You don't really know what you are asking to want.

There is so much that goes unseen,

And we only see the highlight reel.

Breathe here as you remember this truth.

One of the greatest gifts you can offer yourself is to let go of comparison,

And embrace the opportunity to discover who you are.

Whispering to yourself,

I don't want to be anyone else.

I don't want anyone else's life.

I want to stay focused on my journey.

It is a gift to be me.

Zaina Keithley writes,

You are not them.

You are you.

You have gifts that can't be duplicated.

You have your own luminous glow.

You are irreplaceable,

Priceless,

Beyond comparison.

But still you do it.

You compare yourself to people who have something that you think you don't.

You compare yourself and your mind so that they always come out better and you are always worse.

And there are days when you wish you could alter the core of who you are to be more like them.

Funnier,

Smarter,

More confident and charismatic.

Someone captivating.

Someone who lights up a room.

But can't you see?

You carry a spark inside you that has the power to radiate outward and illuminate every space you walk through.

You possess a magnetic pull that grows stronger when you honor your unique originality and allow your true self to be seen.

You have a quiet power that effortlessly draws in the right people and things and experiences.

Who you are is exactly right.

And it doesn't matter if the rest of the world believes it.

You need to believe it.

You have to know in your body and breath and every cell of your being that you are not too much or not enough of anything.

And I hope one day you see that not being them,

Being you,

That is your gift.

Allow those words to really meet your heart and breathe them in.

You not being them,

Being you,

That is your gift.

Notice how it feels in your heart,

In your mind to let go of comparison and welcome in all that you are.

Now feeling this space,

This opportunity to use your energy in a different way.

Placing a hand or two over your heart and whispering it is a gift to be me in this moment.

I love you.

I release comparison.

I clearly and confidently see who I am.

And I honor all that I am.

I am whole.

I am loved.

I am me.

Breathe in.

Let it go.

Taking your sweet time.

Maybe rocking your head side to side.

Rolling your shoulders back and allowing your heart to open.

Feeling a lightness within you as the heaviness of comparison drifts away.

One more deep breath in.

Let it go.

From my heart to yours.
