Hello and welcome to day 21 of the mindful minute.
This is Laura and today's practice will focus on internal awareness.
This again can be a challenging practice because it requires us to honestly look within.
Please be patient with yourself as you develop this practice and keep coming back to it.
Mindfulness is a journey.
Go ahead and find a comfortable seat and close your eyes or turn your gaze downward.
Begin to notice your physical body,
Your vessel.
Notice any sensations.
Are there any areas of tightness or tension?
Sometimes we hold tension in our neck or jaw or shoulders.
Are there any areas of injury or soreness?
Just notice.
Don't judge these sensations or feelings,
But just notice and observe them.
Try to let go of any emotions surrounding these feelings.
Next take a look inward at your energy level.
How do you feel today?
Are you tired?
Are you really awake and energized?
Are you somewhere in the middle?
And again,
Don't judge or blame,
Just notice and observe.
Next notice your mood and your emotions.
Is there something underlying that is present with you today?
Again without judging,
Just notice this emotion,
This prevailing mood,
And don't judge it.
Be open to any sensations in the body that are connected and just let them be as they are.
Feel free to stay here as long as you'd like,
Bringing your attention back to the physical body,
To your energy level,
And through your mood and emotions.
