Hello and welcome to day two of the mindful minute.

This is Laura.

Today I'd like to talk about the belly breath.

Go ahead and find a comfortable seat,

Or you're welcome to lie down,

Soften your gaze,

Or close your eyes.

With this breath,

We'll bring our attention to our belly.

As you inhale through the nose,

Notice how the belly rises.

It expands and you feel full of this wonderful air.

As you exhale,

The belly flattens and falls towards the spine.

The air leaves the body and the process starts again.

This all happens because of the diaphragm rising and falling.

That action of the muscle allows us to feel the expansion of the belly,

Filling our lungs completely,

And then exhaling,

Everything flattens and releases.

Continue this inhale through the nose,

Noticing the rise of the abdomen and the fall on the exhale.

Notice how your breath slows and your body begins to calm.

Continue this practice as long as you'd like,

And enjoy.
