Hello,
And welcome to this guided meditation on finding clarity and setting intentions in the home buying process.
My name is Zane Roberti,
And I'm a spiritual coach,
A mindfulness teacher,
And a real estate broker in the Seattle market.
So I know firsthand the process of finding and purchasing a home can be a bit daunting.
With over 200 decisions to make from selecting your team to choosing a home,
And then writing that winning offer,
The process can definitely be overwhelming.
But it's also a time when your dreams are catalyzed and your sense of self is expanding.
This meditation is meant to honor that expansion and clarify your intention to alleviate any kind of decision fatigue.
It's meant to be a buoy for your internal joy as you continue to grow.
So let's just begin by getting seated and arriving in the moment.
I have this quote that I love by Dale Carnegie,
That the best possible way to prepare for tomorrow is to concentrate with all your intelligence and all your enthusiasm on doing today's work superbly.
So let's set the intention for tomorrow by being present fully.
Find yourself a comfortable seat.
Allow your bones to land on a cushion or the floor and gently lift your spine.
Now as you feel that lifting,
Allow your body to be heavy.
If you've not done so already,
Let your eyes gently lilt towards the ground and slowly close.
Bring awareness to the backs of your eyes and the light dancing on them.
Bring awareness to any sounds in the room.
In closing your eyes,
You bring the gaze from the external world to the world within.
Let's allow that gaze to scan the body.
We'll begin at the crown,
That point on the top of your head,
Allow it to relax.
Bring awareness to your jaw and release.
Notice any tension in the cheeks,
In the eyes,
Behind the eyes,
Between the eyes,
Release.
Allow your shoulders to drop,
The arms to hang heavy.
Let your hands rest gently on your lap.
Can you release any grasping in your fingers,
In your palms?
Arms gentle,
Shoulders soft.
Continue to release by bringing awareness to your rib cage,
The sides of the chest,
The upper back,
Release.
Notice your breath moving you.
Can you soften into it?
Feel your belly,
Your sweet,
Tender belly.
Feel your lower back and let go.
Bring that same gentle awareness to your pelvic floor,
Your hips and release.
Sense your thighs,
Your quads,
Your hamstrings,
The entirety of your knees,
Your calves,
Your shins,
Ankles and feet.
Any clenching,
Any holding,
Release.
Feet connected to the earth,
Whole body connected to the earth.
This body was your home from the moment you came into being.
This was and is your first home.
The ground beneath you is the same.
Notice that what is stable remains as the world around you may feel unstable or shifty.
Stability is found within.
In all the rhythms of your life,
There is a center you return to.
Notice if there's a place in your body where you feel it,
That center.
Perhaps it's your heart,
Your third eye,
Maybe your hands.
Perhaps your entire body feels like one internal anchor.
And when your awareness arrives at center,
Breathe into that center.
Breathe naturally,
Your personal tidal rhythm for this moment.
And from that center,
We'll bring some spaciousness into the breath.
As we lean into the unfamiliar,
We make space for what we want to become.
It's true in our body and in our space.
So we'll practice some gentle holds here,
Taking a deep breath in through the nostrils and holding,
And then sighing out the mouth.
So let's begin with a deep inhale through the nose.
Hold and sigh it out the mouth.
Inhale,
Hold,
Sigh it out the mouth.
Inhale through the nose,
Hold,
Sigh it out the mouth.
Now continue that same pattern on your own.
You may decide to lengthen the breath as you see fit.
Just bring that awareness and expansion into your breathing.
Nice.
Now from this deep presence,
Let's get curious.
Let's get curious from a place of gratitude,
Of permission,
Of radiance.
You've landed here because you have a desire for a home of your own,
A home of your own.
What generated that desire?
You may have begun to favorite houses online,
Driven past a for sale sign.
Maybe your family's growing or you've just learned that you have to transfer for work.
Something or some things catalyzed this in you.
So what was it that set you off?
Now let's go even deeper.
What in that desire were you wanting to feel?
What does a home of your own represent to you?
A few things that I've heard are security,
Family,
Peace,
Independence,
Growth,
Creativity,
Community,
Inspiration,
Belonging,
Style,
Prosperity.
It might be all of these things,
But what will you feel more of in your new home?
Just trust the first thing that comes up.
And once you've landed on it,
Hold that word from your center.
Now we're going to move through this word,
This intention,
This feeling as an invocation or a mantra.
This part of the meditation mimics to an extent the Christian centering prayer.
So you'll think of this one word in your inhale and then repeat it in your exhale.
That simple.
And like with before,
The word may change tomorrow,
But we're just holding this word for today.
So you'll breathe in joy and out joy.
And this is going to be your word,
Which may be joy,
May not,
But just spend the next few rounds of breath repeating that word,
Making it your mantra.
Excellent.
The emotions we cultivate are pushed into the world we live in.
So in this place of uncertainty,
A huge life change,
Allow this one thing,
Your mindset,
Your emotional atmosphere to be what you trust.
Build your team around that.
Allow the process to follow that.
Taking a step like this is best done with a gentle hold.
And in this gentle hold,
We will transition back to that external world.
Bring your gaze to the backs of your eyelids.
Listen to the sounds around you.
Gently wiggle your fingers.
Take a nice long inhale.
As you exhale,
Open your eyes and let this intention guide you home.
