So begin by just sitting,
Taking stock.
Just notice where your breath is now,
Where your body is,
Where your mind is,
Breathing fast or shallow,
Muscles sore or relaxed or some parts of both.
Mind might be fertile or fragmented or quiet.
Just take stock first.
See where you are today at this moment.
Sit with that and start to slow down.
See if you can't slow down but not stop.
Slow down the internal dialogue.
Smooth out the rough edges.
Take deep breaths,
Extending them quantitatively longer with each breath and qualitatively deeper.
Use your breath to bring healing into your body,
Warming up your muscles and joints.
We're going to reflect on beauty and in the reflection of that beauty,
Find joy.
So as you settle in,
Let your mind wander and find something you think of as beautiful.
Might be a person,
Could be a place,
A work of art,
Even a piece of music.
So let your mind wander until you settle on that object.
Fill it out in your mind's eye,
Letting it take shape and form.
Notice where you are in relationship to your object,
Physically your stance.
Start by imagining a quarter turn around the object.
What do you notice about it?
And what does that make you feel?
Continue to settle in and breathe to relax.
Begin another slow quarter rotation around the object.
So now you're facing the back of it.
How does its beauty change from this stance?
How does that make you feel?
Let that feeling wash over you and fill you up.
Continuing to breathe and settle into your body,
Slowly make another quarter rotation around your object.
Ooh,
What does it look like there?
Gaze.
Listen.
Feel and experience that.
Returning to quiet and still and slow yourself,
Come back to where you started.
Look for the very core of this piece.
What have you learned about it?
What do you learn about yourself as you reflect on its beauty and feel its beauty reflected back at you?
Let yourself feel gratitude and offer thanks to this item for being in your life and sharing beauty with you.
Continue to let it in as you hear the closing bells.
