This is a meditation,
A conscious practice where you can honour the moon and the moon in you,
Whether waxing or waning,
Full or new.
I invite you to sit in its presence in whatever way that feels true for you,
Either outside,
Under the sky or perhaps inside with a candle.
Settling in,
Take a relaxed and dignified posture.
And close your eyes if that feels comfortable.
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
Waxing,
Waning as the moon.
Breathing in deeply until you have to release.
Breathing out deeply until you have to take in.
Feeling into the cycles of filling and emptying,
Birthing and dying,
Holding on and letting go.
Can you feel the space that exists between you and the moon?
Feel into its power and potential and your own.
Sitting in this love of the moon,
Feel into its cycles to help you see your own.
How the new moon is encased in shadow,
Reminding us that even though we may not see something,
It is there.
Like the visions you hold,
They already exist in the field.
Where fertile darkness supports the seeding of intentions.
What are yours?
Feel into the dance of light and dark.
Visualize a flicker of light inside of you,
Starting in your heart or belly or third eye.
And visualize it getting bigger and bigger like the waxing moon,
Enveloping you and radiating out,
Bringing forth your intentions in greater light.
Feel this fullness within you like the full moon.
And then,
As with each waning of the moon,
Feel into what needs to be released,
Where you let go of what no longer serves you.
Once the light gets softer and softer,
Bring yourself back to the rebirth of the new moon and honor this repeating cycle.
The moon invites us to embrace every part and phase of ourselves,
Whether shadowed,
A mere sliver of pearl,
Or bathed in luminescence,
Full and fertile.
We can mirror its grace,
Keeping the faith that we will wane and wax effortlessly.
From shyness to boldness and mystery,
May we honor the parts,
The whole of us,
As we do the moon,
Bathe in its power and potential.
When you are ready,
Open your eyes.
