Hello,
This is Dr.
Tricia and I'm going to lead you through a daily morning intentional meditation,
A brief one.
This is a meditation that you could choose to do each day if you'd like more than once.
And what we're going to do is have you find a comfortable position.
So if you're still laying in bed,
You can choose to do so.
Or if you want to sit up and take a cross legged position or even a yoga pose,
A yin yoga pose with maybe your legs at the wall and Viparita Karani.
All right,
So what we're going to look at right now is really trying to set an intention for the day.
Louise Hay,
Author,
Once said,
How you start your day is how you live your day and how you live your day is how you live your life.
And what you need to think about how intentional are you in the mornings?
So many times people may start their mornings thinking about where will the day is going to be or scrolling on their phone,
Scrolling on social media.
I want you to really think about and challenge yourself to be intentional with your day.
So we're going to start right now.
It's just taking a couple of deep breaths.
Inhale and exhale.
And one more inhale and exhale.
And as you're continuing to take these slow,
Deep breaths,
Perhaps from your belly,
I want you to bring to mind three things that you were grateful for from yesterday.
So calling to mind three things that you appreciate from yesterday.
As you inhale,
Thinking of one item,
It could be the weather or an ease to drive home or your pet.
Whatever it is,
Inhale and exhale,
Letting that go into the world.
If you lose focus at any time,
Bring the awareness back to my voice,
Your breath.
And now I want you to bring to your mind's eye three things that you're looking forward to for today.
However big or however small,
As you inhale,
Breathing in one thing that you're looking forward to.
It could be feeling the sun on your skin,
A great cup of coffee,
And however big or small,
Inhale and exhale.
And as you do this,
Thinking of how do you want to feel today?
Whether that's centered,
Joyful,
Productive,
Thinking of how do you want to feel today?
And allowing yourself to feel that in your body right now.
And as you do that,
Starting to notice where in your body you feel this emotion.
Starting to breathe that in for several breaths.
And now,
Want you thinking of how your emotion you want to feel for the day and three things you're looking forward to,
Thinking of a one word intention for the day.
My intention for today is,
And it may be linked to what you're looking forward to,
My intention for the day might be grateful for my intention for the day is to stay grounded,
Disciplined,
Creative,
Productive,
Present,
Inspired,
Loving.
Continuing to explore what is that one word that you want to have as your intention today.
And continuing to breathe into that.
Allow that word to be embedded into your body.
And as you go throughout the day,
If your mind gets distracted every hour,
Bring yourself back to that word,
Back to that intention.
Perhaps every hour,
Reminder,
Bring yourself back to that intention,
Back to that word.
How true are you to that intention?
In yoga,
We call that intention that's sankalpa.
We usually in the beginning of a yoga class dedicate the class to a cause,
A person,
Ourself.
This could be your sankalpa for the day.
Oftentimes if we dedicate it to people that we're going to serve for the day in whatever capacity,
Just being totally present or a piece of art that we're working on,
How we're going to serve other people,
It can get us out of our ego and back into that sense of offering ourselves for another,
Being a vessel for another,
Being an instrument,
Right,
For the divine to flow through us.
So taking another several breaths here,
Knowing you can always come back to this space,
This intention.
Inhale your intention.
Exhale,
Release it into the world.
And then slowly with a soft gaze,
You can start to bring in the room slowly and gently opening your eyes,
Softly bringing in the world,
Your gentle alertness for the day,
Your intention,
And may it be so.
Have a beautiful,
Amazing,
Intention-filled day.
Thank you.
