This recording is a reminder that when you are feeling difficult emotions that it is okay not to always be okay. Sometimes, we feel pressured to get over our difficult emotions sooner than we can or are ready to do. This recording encourages us to acknowledge, validate and soothe ourselves by recognising and responding to our difficult emotions with self-compassion, tenderness, and self-love.

This recording is just a reminder that sometimes it's okay not to be okay.

Sometimes there are things that challenge us and that leave us feeling low or anxious and it's okay to allow those feelings to arise.

Sometimes it's okay just not to be okay.

Of course that is challenged by the reality that we have to study or go to work,

Parent,

Parent,

Care for others.

Sometimes the ability to not be okay is challenged by all of our responsibilities.

But even in those moments,

It's okay to acknowledge that there is sadness or there is nervousness or anxiety.

It's okay not to be okay.

Allowing yourself to acknowledge this helps to take out self-criticism over not being over something as quickly as you might want to.

It takes out the negative self-talk about the way that you feel.

It's okay not to be okay.

To understand,

Acknowledge,

Allow those feelings to exist is what will help them to pass.

Imagining your emotions as small children,

Your inner child,

What does your anger look like,

How old are they,

And your sadness,

Anxiety,

Frustration,

Guilt.

Recognizing when these emotions arise,

Acknowledging them,

Recognizing them,

Saying to yourself,

Oh,

I see you,

I see you,

And it's okay to be as you are.

And that,

That act of self-love and acknowledgement,

That is what heals.

Calling for your inner child to be as you are,

Calling forth one of the difficult emotions you might feel now,

Seeing it as a young child,

A young you,

And acknowledging them,

It's okay,

I see you.

It's okay to be angry.

It's okay to be sad.

It's okay to be frustrated.

It's okay to feel guilt.

All your emotions are okay.

We are built with a full range of them to help us to navigate the world,

Allowing them,

Seeing them as precious and in need of care,

In need of your tenderness,

In need of your self-compassion and self-love,

Recognizing these emotions.

It's okay to not be okay.

And this won't last forever.

Take this time to take care of yourself.

Take this time to feel how you feel.

And I invite you to write in your journal,

Write in your journal,

To let these feelings become tangible on the page so they no longer have to exist repeatedly in your mind.

It's okay not to be okay.

You deserve your own acknowledgement and your own compassion and your own understanding.

Namaste.
