Sometimes after losing weight, people have a hard time seeing themselves in their new form. They still feel and see their heavier form when they look in a mirror. This meditation creates gratitude for yourself and your journey, and helps you see yourself in a new light. It is not gender specific.

This is a meditation to see your body in a new light.

Sometimes when someone's lost a significant amount of weight,

They have a hard time seeing themselves in the size that they are.

So before drifting off,

Please make sure you're in a safe and comfortable place while you're listening to this.

Please note that this is not a substitute for mental health treatment.

If you need psychotherapy or hypnotherapy,

Please seek the help of a trained professional.

So let's begin.

Simply close your eyes,

Take a deep inhale,

Hold it,

And then a long exhale.

And as you exhale,

Begin to relax your body,

Putting yourself in a dreamlike state.

Notice any areas of tension that need softening in the body.

And now imagine a wave of relaxation starting above your head and moving all the way down the body,

Softening and relaxing your muscles as you go.

Now I'd like for you to see yourself at a heavier weight.

Go ahead and picture yourself and now surround the person with compassion and love.

You can do this with a beautiful color,

A sound,

A light,

Or perhaps just a felt sense of compassion that surrounds them.

Now I'd like for you to picture your trimmer self and do the same thing.

Reaching them with a beautiful light or sound or color of compassion.

See them healing.

Now place both of you in a beautiful setting or a safe and comfortable setting,

Some place that feels good.

And notice what's around you,

How it feels,

How it smells.

The temperature of the air.

And now hug your heavier self.

Take them in your arms and give them a full body hug,

Expressing all your love and compassion and gratefulness to them.

Thank them for all the changes they made on your journey together to this new form and let your gratitude surround you both.

And now let that heavier self merge with your trimmer self.

Take them inside of you right into your heart.

And see yourself as if from afar in this beautiful place,

Seeing your trimmer self filled with love and light and compassion and healing for your journey.

The journey that led you to this place as well as the journey ahead of you.

If you like,

You can allow for a symbol of health to appear to you.

This can come in many different forms.

Just notice if anything appears,

Maybe an object,

A sound,

A color.

Just notice all the different aspects of it.

Wonderful.

Now,

Get slightly deeper inhale and exhale and bring yourself back to awareness.

And stretch your feet out like the roots of a tree and stretch your arms out like it's branches.

And just open your eyes,

Feel grounded,

Alert and ready to continue about the rest of your day or evening.
