Shaking Medicine - Therapeutic Tremoring For Vibrant Health
by Keith Motes
In this talk, I discuss: What is Shaking Medicine. Why use Shaking Medicine? How the focus of this somatic modality is an instinctive mechanism called therapeutic tremoring. Why did Mother Nature give us this mechanism? The first main 3 embodiment thresholds of Shaking Medicine. Accessing deep states of relaxation and parasympathetic states of our nervous system. Letting go of aches, pains, stress, anxiety, suppressed emotions, trauma, and more. Reaching & maintaining complete animalistic homeostasis. Cultivating our potential and what we love to do in life. The uniqueness of this modality and the purity of the therapeutic tremoring mechanism.

Hello and welcome!
Today I would like to talk to you about shaking medicine.
I'm giving you an introduction to shaking medicine,
Telling you what it's all about,
And helping you to get a understanding of what we're doing here.
What is it?
What is it for?
How do we tune into it?
All of these basic fundamental understandings of shaking medicine.
So welcome,
Thanks for listening.
My name is Keith,
Dr.
Keith Motz.
I started this modality that I call shaking medicine.
It's a somatic body-based modality for basically obtaining freedom,
Obtaining vibrant health,
Letting go of all the things that don't serve us,
Reaching and maintaining homeostasis,
And cultivating our potential.
Now that's a lot.
You might be thinking a lot,
A lot of claims there,
And they're all so deeply true and potent.
Because shaking medicine is really good at doing exactly these things.
Shaking medicine is a modality I created for helping us tune into something called therapeutic trimmering,
Therapeutic trimmering.
This therapeutic trimmering is an animalistic instinctive mechanism we're all born with.
It's something that Mother Nature essentially gave us as a means to maintain health and reach homeostasis,
All these things I mentioned.
It helps us let go of stress and anxiety,
Suppressed emotions,
Aches,
Pains,
Tensions,
Or trauma.
And it does this because over millions,
Even hundreds of millions of years,
Maybe even billions,
This mechanism evolved in the nervous system of animals.
It evolved to do exactly what I'm saying.
And that's why it's so effective.
It's a very potent medicine,
This shaking medicine.
It's something that is designed for us to do exactly these things.
It's our birthright.
Basically in nature,
And we are a part of nature,
We are animals,
Us humans,
We're not separate.
We're very unique in our capacity to be human and have a super intelligence in a logical way that many other animals don't really have so much or as much.
But we also have all the benefits of being an animal in the sense of these natural mechanisms.
And really shaking medicine aims to reawaken this within you.
You see,
This mechanism is something that you're born with.
And so when we're doing shaking medicine,
You aren't really learning something new.
You're more so remembering something already within your awakening,
Awakening something up again.
And so from that perspective,
It's actually really easy to access this.
And that's relative.
Of course,
Some people it's easier or harder than others.
But relatively speaking,
Most people can get,
Can embody this and turn it on in their very first shaking medicine class.
That's also an effect of me getting better and better at teaching it over the eight years so far that I've been creating this modality.
So this modality,
Shaking medicine,
Therapeutic tremoring for vibrant health is something I created.
So the modality is a unique way to remember this instinctive mechanism.
So I created this modality in this way of exploring it and remembering it and turning it on again.
But the essence of what we're doing doesn't belong to me,
Doesn't belong to anyone.
It's something mother nature gave us.
As in remember that,
That natural instinctive mechanism that evolved within us.
So that's why this is so powerful.
What's important is to awaken that up and embody it and become empowered in it.
It is very empowering to access.
And I think every human should be in touch with this because it's liberating,
It's freeing,
It literally dissolves a lot of the stagnant energy we're holding onto,
The tensions,
The aches,
The pains,
The things that get stuck,
The emotional energy.
And it does it using the body and not so much the mind.
So we can actually do a lot of our healing.
We can come out of these stress states,
These trauma states,
And so forth.
A lot so just by using our body,
Using this mechanism.
And it's one way I like to think of it is that this mechanism is,
It's kind of like an immune system for our nervous system.
I see it as being kind of centered in our nervous system,
Our nervous system intelligence.
And this tremoring mechanism,
Therapeutic tremoring mechanism,
It has a deep intelligence that is centered around our instinctive mind,
Our gut instinct,
If you will,
Or you can think of it as our animal mind.
And what we're doing in this is awakening and strengthening and building a relationship with our animal nature.
And when we start to therapeutically tremor,
We're basically listening to that deep innate primordial intelligence and wisdom of our inner animal to move us how we need to move to heal.
That's why it's so powerful.
It's not some intellectual process that we try to heal with the mind.
It's literally an avenue to get out of the story-making mind and into the body and into the intelligence of something that's really innate.
We're born with it.
And yeah,
So that's why it's so powerful,
Because it's beyond anything that someone made up.
Again,
Yeah,
I made up the modality in this unique way for rediscovering it and building a relationship with it and exploring it and cultivating oneself with it.
And then there's so much to explore.
I have so many ideas and teachings out there that could get us from a very beginner place with this to a very advanced state of embodiment with this.
And to speak a little bit about what to expect on an embodiment journey now is I kind of see these three main thresholds,
At least early thresholds,
That we're kind of aiming for in the beginning.
And the first one,
I call it the beginner's threshold.
And so this is usually obtained pretty well within sometimes one class,
But I'd say for most people it takes a handful of classes,
Like maybe three to five or something like this.
And at this point,
We can start to turn the therapeutic tremoring on and off easily enough,
And we start to build a relationship with it,
And we start to understand it deeply from an embodied experience.
I can talk about it for days and weeks,
And sometimes I do.
I do retreats and teacher trainings and stuff where I do go on and go on in depth and detail about it.
But really the most important way to understand it,
Really the only deep way to understand it,
Is to jump into a class and start embodying it,
Start experiencing the therapeutic tremoring,
Which is a kind of spontaneous shaking within yourself.
It's like our nervous system is moving us for us,
How we need to move,
And it's not of a logical mind practice.
It's coming out of that.
It's really profound to move in this way.
Also what we start to realize in this beginner's level of embodiment is more and more how to trust our intuition and how to be moved,
How we need to be moved spontaneously.
And to get out of our own way,
We learn how to let go of control.
We learn how to relax and surrender more,
And we start moving deeper into parasympathetic states of relaxation.
Often,
It's very common that people tell me they've never felt so relaxed in their life,
Even after one class,
Because basically how this mechanism works is that the animal in nature that gets chased by the predator or whatever,
Essentially they go into fight or flight states.
They enter these states and then their nervous system gets fired up.
They move into sympathetic dominance.
But as soon as they get to safety,
Well,
What happens is they can turn off.
In a wild animal,
They do turn off,
And they relax,
And they start to move into parasympathetic,
Rest and digest.
And part of that process is to spontaneously shake,
To discharge the heightened energy,
The stuck perhaps trauma energy from that experience,
And they discharge it,
And they immediately come back to homeostasis.
How beautiful is that?
Immediately back to homeostasis in rest and digest.
So the therapeutic tremoring relaxes us,
And then anything that relaxes us helps us to tremor more,
And it creates this beautiful feedback loop of supporting us to go deeper and deeper and shed away all of our kind of stuck energy and emotions and traumas until we're in homeostasis.
So at the beginner's level,
We start to experience these things.
And then very importantly,
I consider this one of the most important parts to keep going,
Is that just because we now start to have a connection with it doesn't yet mean we're at a place to be able to use this easily in our life,
Innately for the rest of our life.
And I call this next threshold the intermediate threshold of embodiment.
And this threshold is after we're able to have,
After we get to this beginner's level of,
Okay,
We can turn it on and off and access it easily enough,
But usually still takes a bit of effort to access it.
This intermediate threshold is when we can now,
We get to a point where we can easily and innately,
Intuitively,
And effortlessly use this throughout our day-to-day life when we need it based on just an innate intelligence and an inner understanding.
And this threshold is basically,
I'd say about,
For most people,
Around 10 to 20 or so more classes,
More embodiment sessions,
Where it's like,
Okay,
I've done it enough.
Like it's really quite easy.
I can move it all through my body.
I can move it through pretty much all the muscle groups,
All the main ones,
At least,
Through the arms,
The legs,
The hips,
The torso,
Even the neck.
And we start to even be able to move it through the jaw and maybe the face,
Muscles,
And eyes,
And really get some deep,
Profound releases going on everywhere.
And we can even,
In a way,
Start to cultivate it and move it more and more internally.
But the point of this threshold is we get to the point where it's like,
Wow,
It's second nature again,
Like it is for an animal,
A wild animal.
And this leads me to the third major embodiment threshold,
Which is probably at least a couple or a few years for most of us down the road,
Where we reach complete animalistic homeostasis.
In other words,
All the heavy stuff we've accumulated over a lifetime of not discharging these things are now pretty much discharged.
Maybe we still have some cobwebs to dust off or whatever.
But more or less,
We're really starting to get to that point of like,
Wow,
I'm like that wild animal again.
I've learned from all my mistakes.
I've gone through post-traumatic growth if I've been processing trauma.
And so I'm wise and intelligent.
But in that animalistic state,
I am grounded.
I am present.
I am free.
I'm spontaneous.
I'm joyful.
I'm playful.
I'm happy.
And all these beautiful qualities that basically little kids basically are that.
So study,
Little kids and wild animals.
And know that you can be like that too.
You can be free.
You can be in homeostasis.
And this I see as a very beautiful and,
Relatively speaking,
Easy way to get there.
And I'd say for most people and not necessarily everyone,
But this homeostasis state is a really beautiful place to strive for.
Some of us,
It might take less time than that or more depending on our life experiences and how much we've accumulated.
But get to that,
Aim for that intermediate threshold.
I mean,
Take it one step at a time.
Go for that beginner's level and continue if it feels good.
But really,
It takes probably the most dedication the first two levels because we really have to kind of like,
Almost like choose and dedicate and put the discipline effort and to show up to do enough classes to get to this threshold.
But once we're at this intermediate threshold and it's,
Remember,
Second nature,
Getting to homeostasis becomes easy.
The body actually wants to unravel at this point.
It wants to keep discharging.
It's like you build this beautiful momentum that you can use this throughout your life,
Throughout your yoga practice,
Throughout your meditation,
Before bed,
Even when washing the dishes or going on a walk or when you wake up in the morning,
Whenever it is,
Or maybe you take a little nap or rest in the middle of the day and your body will just tell you,
Yeah,
Wow,
There's a tension or an energy that wants to move and it'll just start shaking.
Of course,
You're empowered to choose like,
Oh,
Am I in a place that I want to allow this or not allow this at the moment?
So it's not like it takes over you or something.
You always have the choice of turning it on or off when you want.
But the point is your intuition's like,
Yeah,
This is a good time and it'll just do it.
You don't have to like try so hard to like,
Oh,
I need to go show up to the class and put the time and effort in.
It's just like,
It's just a happening at this point.
It's a state of being.
So,
Yeah,
I encourage you to try out my classes.
I'm streaming on Insight Timer from time to time.
Um,
Go to the homepage of this modality.
This is a worldwide modality that is based at www.
Shakingmedicine.
Com.
And I consider that to be the online home base of this where there's,
Yeah,
Tons of resources.
You can reach out to me.
There's socials,
There's,
There's,
Yeah,
Ways to embody this.
Um,
And follow me on Insight Timer.
That'd be great.
Reach out to me.
Let me know if you have any questions.
I really hope to see you in one of my classes at some point.
I really hope you give this a go and try it out for yourself.
Cause remember the most important way to understand this is to embody it and start to be like,
Wow,
And feel it and,
And tune into your inner nature,
Your inner animal,
Awaken your intuitive and instinctive minds,
Build those up,
Grow those,
The strength of the intuition and instinct muscles,
Feel them for yourself.
And then often what happens is people like,
Wow,
That like,
Wow,
That just fixed up my shoulder.
Wow.
That helped me sleep so deeply or,
Wow,
I feel so relaxed,
More relaxed than I've ever felt before.
I just had the best,
Deepest Shavasana of my life,
You know,
All kinds of profound things.
So anyway,
Thanks for listening.
Give it a go.
Again,
My name is Keith.
Reach out if you have questions,
Hope to see you in a class and yeah,
Until then have a very beautiful day.
Namaste.
