Find a comfortable position,

Either sitting or lying down.

If you feel safe to do so,

Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze.

Take a moment to notice your body resting in this space supported by the earth beneath you.

Take a deep breath in,

Filling your lungs fully.

Hold for a moment.

Now exhale slowly,

Releasing any tension.

Let's take two more deep breaths together,

Breathing in deeply and exhaling completely.

With each breath out,

Feel yourself letting go,

Settling more deeply into this moment.

Bring your attention to the points of contact your body has with the earth,

Your feet,

Your seat,

Or wherever you are resting.

Imagine roots extending from these points deep into the ground.

These roots connect you to the earth,

Steady and enduring even in the face of change.

Feel the strength of the earth holding you,

Offering her support.

You are anchored,

Safe,

And connected to something greater than yourself.

The earth has witnessed countless cycles of renewal and resilience,

And you,

Too,

Are a part of this cycle.

Begin to notice your breath again,

Natural and steady.

Imagine that with every inhale,

You are drawing in calm,

Soothing energy,

And with every exhale,

You are releasing fear,

Grief,

Or tension.

Silently say to yourself as you breathe,

Inhale,

I am safe,

And as you exhale,

I release what I cannot control.

Repeat this affirmation with each breath,

Letting it settle into your heart and body.

Now bring to mind all those impacted by the wildfires,

People,

Animals,

Plants,

And the sacred land itself.

Hold them in your heart as you offer this prayer.

May all beings find safety and shelter.

May the grieving find comfort and strength.

May the injured and displaced find healing and home.

May the land,

Animals,

And waters begin their renewal,

And may the bravery and dedication of first responders and firefighters be honored and supported.

May peace and protection blanket all who are touched by this event.

Take a moment to feel gratitude for the strength and resilience of the earth,

For the courage of those who protect and serve,

And for the interconnectedness of all beings.

Imagine your gratitude radiating outward,

A light extending from your heart to the world,

Touching every corner of this event.

Now,

Return to your breath and the roots grounding you to Mother Earth.

Visualize these roots drawing in a deep,

Calming energy from the core of the earth.

This energy moves up through your body,

Filling you with a sense of safety,

Stability,

And peace.

When you feel ready,

Slowly begin to bring your awareness back to your surroundings.

Wiggle your fingers and toes.

Take a final,

Deep breath in,

And exhale fully.

Silently or aloud,

Affirm this.

I am grounded.

I am connected.

I am safe.

When you're ready,

Gently open your eyes,

Carrying the sense of calm and connection with you,

Offering compassion to yourself and others as you navigate the days ahead.
