Hi and welcome back to seven days of coming back to yourself.
I'm Diane and this is day six.
Today I'll be guiding you through a practice of self-connection through sacred touch.
I'm really glad you're here and there's a part of you that's also still here that's been coming back each day steady and present.
Today we're going to be connecting with that part of you,
The steady present part,
And we're going to begin by coming into home base.
One hand over the chest and the other over our solar plexus just above our navel and just taking some centering and grounding breaths together as we breathe in slowly,
Steadily,
Intentionally,
And gently.
And whatever you might have happening for you today that might be pulling you away from this position and this remembering of home base,
You can just let it pass for now as if you were the sky and it was the clouds just moving by.
Knowing that you haven't lost yourself,
You are right here with me right now.
So I'm going to invite you to just place one palm on top of the other with your hands right in front of you so your fingertips are pointing towards your elbows and you're just going to slide the palms of your hands away from each other so your fingertips will come together and then sliding those wrists towards each other.
It's just a slow back and forth movement and this is part of a three-part practice called the Havening Technique.
And the Havening Technique is just another technique to help your nervous system regulate,
Bringing you into the present moment and offering a very soothing,
Gentle,
Calming,
Sacred self-touch.
And then you can flip your hands over so opposite hand on top now doing the same action just gently kind of sweeping your hands away from each other as your palms and the inside of your fingertips touch and sweep by each other.
Place one hand on your chest,
The other on your solar plexus.
Take a deep breath in and a slow exhale again coming back to home base.
Another deep breath in and a slow breath out.
Cross your arms in front of you placing opposite hand to opposite shoulder or tops of your arms and you're just going to gently sweep your hands downwards and then across your body so your palms again are sweeping one on top of the other and then bringing your hands back up this time opposite hand on top to opposite shoulder gently just sweeping down your upper arms till you get to your elbows and then sweeping down your forearms palms together fingers on top of each other fingertips to fingertips good we'll do that one more time each side crossing the arms across the chest hands to the shoulders or upper arms gently sweeping downwards and then across the forearms and the hands and the fingertips and one last time arms or hands come to shoulders gently give them a little press squeeze sliding down your arms and hands come together and now go ahead crossing your arms again give yourself a nice squeeze a nice hug and think of one thing that you love about yourself just one thing i know there's so many things we love about ourselves just one can be the tiniest thing and hold that tight squeeze yourself congratulate yourself for showing up every day for the past we're in day six now of saying yes to yourself and then our last practice part three of the havening technique is to just take your fingertips and place them on your temples very lightly and sweeping them down your face down your jaw to your chin just a very gentle sweeping loving touch and then maybe starting on either side of your nose sweeping your fingertips out towards your ears and then down your jaw to your chin and just enjoying this gentle touch and then coming all the way up to your forehead your brow with your fingertips together and then sweeping across the forehead down the temples down the jaw to the chin almost as if you're making a heart shape maybe starting at the bridge of your nose making an arch with both fingertips across your forehead and then down both sides of your face meeting at the chin and then even perhaps sweeping down the throat the front of the neck and the chest and one more time just a gentle face sweep and then we'll finish by bringing one hand over the heart the other up over the solar plexus again coming back taking another slow breath in and just feeling into your body noticing how you feel now as you've taken this time for self-connection through sacred touch thank you so much again for joining me today and i look forward to our time together tomorrow our last day of this day seven series take good care you
