Thank you for joining me.
I wanted to record this today because,
For me,
But also for you,
I was thinking about my dad who made his transition about seven months ago.
He was one week shy of his 91st birthday and he did not want to turn 91.
90 was his number,
Which he had said for several years prior to his passing.
And when I was walking today,
The wind was gently,
It was a gentle breeze,
A warm breeze,
And it made me think of him.
He loved to sail.
He loved to be outdoors.
And,
Funny enough,
When I got home from my walk,
A picture popped up on my phone.
You know how that happens.
And the picture that popped up was a poem called,
I Heard Your Voice in the Wind Today.
It was a picture I had taken of the program from his celebration of life because I really loved the poem.
I believe my stepmom had picked it out.
So I just want to read you the words.
They really touched me and I'm hoping that they will perhaps touch you as well.
So just make yourself as comfortable as you can.
Begin to connect with your breath.
You're just noticing your breath,
Bringing your awareness to your body.
Perhaps you've had a lot of heavy thoughts,
Sad thoughts,
And usually when we're feeling heavy in our minds,
Thinking sad things,
Having memories that make us feel sad or grieving the loss of a loved one,
Our heart feels heavy too.
So I invite you to place one or both hands directly on top of your chest,
The center of your chest,
And begin to deepen your breath.
Just allow these words to wash over you as I speak them.
I heard your voice in the wind today and I turned to see your face.
The warmth of the wind caressed me as I stood silently in the place.
I felt your touch in the sun today as its warmth filled the sky.
I closed my eyes for your embrace and my spirit soared high.
I saw your eyes in the windowpane as I watched the falling rain.
It seemed as each raindrop fell,
You quietly said your name.
Take another deep breath right into the center of your chest and a slow exhale.
I held you close in my heart today.
It made me feel complete.
You may have died but you are not gone.
You will always be a part of me.
As long as the sun shines,
The rain falls,
You will live on inside of me forever.
For that is all my heart knows.
The author of this poem,
I heard your voice in the wind today,
Is unknown.
I hope you enjoyed that and if you are struggling with healing,
Emotional healing,
Perhaps needing some deep rest,
I invite you to listen to my track called Emotional Healing and Deep Rest.
Thank you so much for joining me.
