Guided Meditation for Life Changes,

The Playground.

This meditation uses creative imagery to help us make changes in our lives.

Let's start by closing our eyes and breathing deeply in and out,

All the way down into the lower belly.

Relax your shoulders,

Allowing them to droop downward.

Relax your body,

And let it sink into your chair.

Feel the heaviness in your feet as they are planted firmly on the floor,

Connecting you with the energy of the earth.

As you continue to breathe in a natural and relaxed way,

Notice the flow of energy in your body.

You may feel your hands growing warm and tingly.

Now I'd like you to imagine that you are on a children's playground.

As you look around,

Just notice where you are on the playground.

Are you by the swing set,

The monkey bars,

Or the slide?

Maybe you are crawling through a tunnel,

Playing in a sandbox,

Or on a merry-go-round.

Just notice where you are and what you are doing.

Are there other children on the playground?

What are they doing?

As you notice these things,

It begins to dawn on you that the playground is a metaphor for your life.

The playground represents the world you live in,

The things you do,

And the people you associate with.

Take some time to consider what each of the things on the playground might represent.

Now I'd like you to take another look around the playground.

Is there somewhere on the playground that you would rather be?

Maybe you've been spending a lot of time playing in one area,

And now you would like to move on to another area where you can do something different.

You can also choose to be with different children on the playground.

Do you see someone you would like to play with?

Or maybe you want some quiet time by yourself.

You may choose to sit on the grass and watch the clouds go by while listening to the birds singing in the trees.

This is your playground,

And you can do anything you want.

Take some time to enjoy whatever you have chosen.

You you you Now think about the images that you experienced and what they might mean.

Don't worry if you don't understand everything.

Your unconscious mind knows.

Take some time now to consider the messages from your unconscious mind.

You you you you you Now it's time to come back from the meditation.

Breathe deeply and feel your body.

When you are ready,

Slowly open your eyes,

Stretch,

And come back to the present moment.

Thank you for this lovely meditation. I realized I had been playing on the monkey bars for too long and needed a change. Thank you for the relaxation.
