#8. Vibrations Of Silence | Vigyan Bhairav Tantra
As the energies rise in various higher centers from the root to the crown, you may be tempted to get identified with the consequences. Therefore Bhairava gives another chakra meditation to liberate oneself from the energies at each of these centers. Meditation technique: The energy centers should be pierced with their mantras, thus liberating energy one by one from the gross then, the subtle. Finally, the energy merges into consciousness. Namaste and a very warm welcome to all of you in this daily live meditation session with me the answer in meditating on 112 meditation techniques of Vigyan Bhairav Tantra.
Let us begin this session with a small story.
Two monks were on their way to their pilgrimage.
It was raining very heavy,
It was all muddy,
The streets were all filled,
Flooded with water.
Both these two monks were somehow managing their way.
They saw a young lady standing at the intersection.
A very young lady,
Almost half naked,
Wet,
Covered with one single silk cloth,
Very attractive young woman.
Waiting at one intersection,
Seeing that there is so much mud in front of her,
She could not cross the road.
She was in this hesitation of crossing the road,
Just waiting and standing on one side of the intersection.
One of these monks,
Without any delay,
He approached this young lady,
Grabbed this young lady with his hands,
Picked her up and crossed through the whole mud,
Took her to the other side of the intersection and brought her to the other side and let her be on the other side.
The second monk,
He could not see,
He could not believe what was happening in front of his eyes,
What this first monk has done,
What this first monk was doing,
Was completely unbelievable,
Astonishing for the second monk,
But he did not say anything.
He was so shocked to see this act of first monk,
But he did not say anything.
They both still went on their way.
They went to where they were supposed to go,
To the monastery,
And as the evening came,
They had dinner,
They very silently had dinner,
But the second monk,
He was unable to hold this event that had happened,
Unable to resist,
To talk to this first monk about this event that had happened.
So after the dinner,
He somehow could not hold himself and just blurted out,
He said,
Monk 1,
What did you do over there?
What were you thinking?
You know we are celibate monks,
And this young lady,
You grabbed her with your arms,
You took her in your arms,
And you crossed that whole muddy river,
This whole muddy street,
With this lady,
This young lady in your arms,
Have you gone crazy?
Have you lost your vows of celibacy?
You know how dangerous that is.
Why did you do that?
So he kept on asking and provoking this first monk,
Why did you do that?
The first monk very silently said,
I left that lady at that intersection,
But you are still carrying her.
There are two attitudes in this story to learn from.
The first attitude is of the monk number 1.
He is completely disidentified from the situation.
This is the attitude of a sannyasan,
This is the attitude of the meditator of being completely disidentified with the situation,
Doing what is needed in the situation,
But disidentified with the situation.
And the second attitude of the monk number 2,
Who was still carrying the lady in her mind,
In her ideas.
This is the attitude that we have towards life,
We carry all what we are coming across in our life,
In our mind.
The body we get identified with and we carry the body all the time with us.
We get identified with thoughts,
With ideas,
With plans,
With whatever the mind throws at us and we carry that all along our life,
All along each and every moment of our life.
We carry along so many thoughts,
So many ideas,
Whatever the mind throws at us.
And when desires arise,
We get identified and we get once again,
We carry all those desires throughout our life.
We don't finish things,
We keep things from the past,
We keep on holding the past,
We keep on dragging the past in the present,
In the future.
We are not finished with it,
We are not disidentified with it.
This whole practice of meditation,
This whole journey of tantra and the journey that we did of yoga,
The journey that we did with Tibetan Buddhism and whatever journey that we will take in the future,
It all boils down to one thing,
That you learn how to live in the world and not be of it.
How to be in the moment but yet be disidentified.
Not disinterested,
Disidentified.
And what this disidentification means,
This is a very revolutionary introduction in your life,
What is disidentification?
We always use this word disidentification,
I am disidentified,
But we usually mean I am disinterested.
Think about a subject,
A topic,
An object in your life where you can say I am not disinterested but I am disidentified.
I give 100% in the moment,
I do whatever has to be done in the moment,
Be it your professional life,
Be it your personal life,
Be it your relationships,
Be it anything that is any aspect of your life that you are doing 100% what is needed in the moment,
What you are disidentified.
What is this disidentification?
This disidentification means that you are at a distance,
That you never lose your center,
Your periphery acts,
You also act with 100% of your energies,
Not that you just act on the surface,
That you just act a little bit,
You act fully,
You act with your full energies but still at a distance.
You remain disidentified.
This is the crux,
This is the magic key to all the issues in your life if you can learn to be disidentified.
See that our training through our education,
Through our culture,
Through our any form of learning that we have gathered in our life has all taught us to be identified.
It has taught us half the circle,
It has taught us to get into the prison,
It has showed us a desire,
You see a house,
You see a car,
You see something that is an object of your desire,
You have learned to be identified with it,
You have learned to then put all your energies in going after it but you have never learned to be disidentified with it.
Even if the desire is fulfilled,
The same process then keeps on repeating,
It projects onto something else.
The objects of desire keep on changing but the desire remains,
The identification remains unless you break the identification,
Not the desire,
Not the interest,
Not the action but the quality of that action,
The quality of your stance,
Of your attitude,
If that becomes disidentification,
You are in a place of freedom,
You are in a place of bliss and nothing can take that bliss,
That freedom away from you in life.
And this is why we meditate,
This is why we go through all these spiritual processes,
These spiritual journeys to have learned and our energies learned and unlearned this process of identification and learn the process of disidentification.
This is the whole process,
This is the whole journey.
So as you move along in this journey,
Not only in the practice of meditation but also in your daily life,
Observe yourself,
Become aware of yourself,
Are you getting carried away,
Are you falling for identification,
It does not matter which subject of your life,
Remain disidentified,
Practice that,
Observe yourself and observe your attitude towards how you approach things in life.
Let us listen to the technique,
The meditation technique for today,
Understand it and then practice inner silence.
Bhairava gives the next technique also based on chakras.
In the last two sessions we had been practicing chakra meditation and today is one more variation of chakra meditation.
The technique says,
The energy centers should be pierced with their mantras,
Thus liberating energies one by one from the gross then the subtle and finally the energies merge into consciousness.
Today we are going to do the same chakra meditation going chakra by chakra,
Energy center by energy center but with a completely different stance to it.
We will use mantras,
I will chant a mantra which is very specific to each of these energy centers while you bring your awareness to that particular energy center starting from muladhara the very base,
The root chakra,
The root energy center to swadhishthana,
The sacral to manipura,
Your solar plexus to anahata to your heart center to vishuddhi your throat center to aagya your third eye center and to crown sasrad.
You will bring your awareness and with the mantra,
With the chanting that I will do you will tune into the vibration of that chant and you will pierce that energy center.
What that means is you will take that piercing,
You will take that awareness of the energy center from gross to subtle to silence.
So as an example,
When I say and when I chant the mantra for muladhara chakra you will bring your awareness to muladhara chakra and in the vibrations of that mantra you will see that energy will start to rise and when the energy is rising in that center you will first of all focus on the gross that is the physical feeling,
The physical sensation of what this chakra is,
Where this chakra is in your body so the mapping of this chakra in your physical body and then you will move to the subtle,
You will put the physical at the backdrop and the subtle,
The energy of this chakra you will feel,
You will sense the energy of the chakra so you will move from the feeling of the physical to the sensation of the energy and let this be liberated into silence.
Pour all this energy into silence so all these energies that will rise into each of your chakras that will rise in the vertical you will liberate this energy in all directions into silence resulting in a space in you,
Outside you,
In all around you,
A space of deep silence,
Deep liberation and in this liberation there is peace,
In this liberation there is bliss.
Let us take this into our own experience.
You don't have to chant the mantra along with me,
You simply listen and tune in to the vibration.
I will chant the mantra periodically taking breaks of silence so as I chant the mantra you will shift your awareness from the gross to the subtle to the silence.
This you will do for each and every chakra as we proceed from root,
Muladhara to all the way to sahasrar to the crown chakra.
Please close your eyes and take a posture that is comfortable for you with your back straight head straight,
Shoulders down.
Allowing your body to find a balance,
A balance in all directions,
Body not leaning forward or backwards,
Not right or left,
Not upwards or downwards,
Resting yet alert,
Almost becoming light and effortless to maintain this posture.
Your breath finding its natural pace,
Relaxed and flowing in and out without any effort,
Without any holding,
Without any effort.
Shift your awareness to the root chakra,
Muladhara physically mapped below your genitals,
Shifting awareness to the region below your genitals.
To the very base of your body,
Of your sitting posture.
Awareness from all directions focused on muladhara,
The root chakra,
The very base of your body.
And tune into the chant.
Awareness from the energy center,
Moving from gross to subtle to silence,
From physical feeling to sensation of energy to silence.
Alum gross to subtle to silence thwart Energy is liberating into silence,
Merging into silence.
And your consciousness rising,
Shifting attention and your focus to the Swadhisthana chakra,
The sacral chakra,
To the region where your spine ends in your physical body,
Where your spine ends,
Shift your awareness in that region and tune in to the mantra.
Comment on this chant,
Volunteer withisation.
VAM Feel the vibrations at the energy center from gross to subtle to silence and allow this energy to move into silence.
VAM Energy rising further up,
Your awareness,
Your attention to Manipura chakra,
To solar plexus,
Few inches above your navel.
Awareness few inches above your navel in the solar plexus.
VAM Feel the vibrations from gross to subtle to silence.
VAM RAM Awareness rising further up to your heart center,
To Anahata chakra,
To the region where your heart is in the middle of your chest.
Focus in the middle of your chest.
Tune into the vibrations of the mantra.
VAM The physical feeling,
The sense of energy,
The silence.
VAM Let the energy center vibrate and liberate this energy into silence.
VAM Awareness rising further up to your throat center,
To Vishuddhi chakra,
To the region where your throat is.
VAM VAM VAM Shifting awareness to your third eye center,
Agnya chakra,
To the region in between your eyebrows.
Focus in between your eyebrows.
Tune in to the mantra.
VAM Feel the vibrations,
The energy,
The sensation and the silence at your third eye center.
VAM VAM Shifting awareness further up to the crown chakra,
Sahasraar,
Few inches above your head.
VAM Allowing all the gross feelings to become subtle sensations of energy and become silence.
VAM Completely let go of all effort and stay in this silence,
In this awareness.
Let go of all focus and your awareness expanding,
Your consciousness expanding,
Your energies liberating.
You remain silent and aware.
VAM And very gently and slowly you may open your eyes.
Seated deep in silence,
In awareness.
Take these vibrations of tantra,
Of silence,
Of awareness to your daily life.
Thank you very much.
Namaste.

This is one of the most important Tantra meditations, connecting with the energy and subtleties of the chakras⦠a reminder too to move with these energies in life but remain detached, and in the power of the moment. Dhyanse is a fanatic Tantra meditation teacher.

It was great.. but I didn't understand what do you mean by silence of chakra energy?
