This meditation is ideally done in a chair with your feet on the ground,
But it may be done in any position,
Either seated on a meditation cushion or even lying down.
Whichever position you choose,
Begin by holding your hands together so that your right hand is facing down.
And now,
Begin by bringing your attention to the soles of your feet and the thousands of nerve endings and reflex points there that open energy pathways to every organ of your body.
And if you happen to be in a chair,
Focus for a moment on the connection to the earth and on the direct connection to this vital source of energy.
Now,
Imagine in front of you a happy and beautiful image of someone in your life.
This may even be your own smiling image.
It may be a beloved person or a pet that makes you feel loved and happy.
With this image firmly established in your mind,
Begin to bring your awareness to that point between your eyebrows,
Called the third eye.
Focus your forehead as you continue to focus your awareness there.
You are drawing on the smiling energy of the image you chose,
And you are allowing it to accumulate in this point between the brows.
Begin now to let that surplus of smiling energy overflow into your eyes.
Feel your eyes becoming soft.
Feel yourself smiling with your eyes.
And as this smiling energy continues to overflow,
Feel it moving toward your mouth.
Finally turn up the corners of your mouth.
Bring your mouth into a soft and gentle smile,
Letting the smiling energy continue to make its way down into your neck.
As this smiling energy overflows into your neck,
Let it relieve any tension you may be holding there.
And for a moment,
Just delight in the warm feeling of the inner smile as it washes your body with healing endorphins.
Let it uplift your spirit.
Let it bring a softness and a healing vibration to every cell in your body.
Sense the smiling energy as it continues to cascade through your body.
Let it fill up your heart now with warmth and happy feelings.
And as it continues to accumulate here in your heart,
Feel your heart smile with love,
Like a brilliant pink lotus flower coming to life under the light of the morning sun.
If necessary,
Feel free to return to your chosen image of smiling energy in front of you,
Allowing your awareness of it to replenish its abundance and then drawing it anew to your brow point and then down to your body so that it may continue its journey through your body and into your cells.
This radiant smiling energy is now overflowing from your heart and pouring out into each of your lungs.
Breathe into your lungs and as you breathe into them,
Feel them expand with gladness as this energy brings them back to life.
And now from your lungs,
The smiling energy now flows into your liver just below your ribs on the right side.
Feel the smiling energy cleanse your liver.
Feel it bringing new life to this most important organ.
Allow this smiling energy to flow now down into your belly,
Filling your belly with the glow of your inner smile.
Breathe into your stomach and with each breath,
Feel your belly smile with gladness.
Now allow this smile to trickle down through your stomach and into your pancreas.
Let it fill this organ with love and light.
And as this smiling energy continues its journey,
Feel it revitalize your spleen just to the left of your stomach.
As this luminous energy builds up now in the spleen,
Let it flow into your kidneys.
Send a smile to each of your kidneys in your lower back on either side.
Let your smile radiate there.
Fill your kidneys with this smile,
Fill them with love and let this loving energy spill over into your adrenals,
Which sit just atop of these busy organs.
Really fill them up with your smile,
Thanking them for working so hard for you.
Send the smiling energy now down into your reproductive organs to balance and revitalize your creative energy.
Send now by directing all of this smiling energy,
Every bit of it that remains into your dan tien just below your navel point.
This is the storehouse of your life force.
And with your awareness here,
Begin to mentally circulate the surplus of energy in an outward flowing spiral.
Women,
Start the spiral in a counter clockwise direction.
Men,
Start in a clockwise direction,
Keeping the spiral contained in your abdomen.
Do this several times.
And then,
Reversing the direction of your spiral,
Begin to bring it back to contain it just below your navel.
Now that it's contained,
Just hold your focus there for a moment.
You may repeat this meditation any time you feel you need to replenish your life force.
Any time you feel you need to replenish your own inner smile and radiance.
And then you'll be able to call on the secret source of inner light and joy whenever you need to instantly transform any negative emotions into lightness and inner peace.
