This poem prayer is a new format i've been deeply inspired to lean into. I start off with a poem on Grief, growth, and becoming. This entire year has felt like an intense grief process but it has been so rewarding. I'm excited to begin to share the many pearls and gems i've found along this journey. More importantly, this track is a deep thank you to this incredible community that has believed in me and inspires me daily to deepen my own self belief. May this poem bring you recognition and the prayer bring you healing and realignment. Love, desi track composers: Brittney Mills, Vicki Vox Backing track producer: RocketJr

I've bled rivers,

Cried glaciers,

Looked to the world to bring me a savior.

Hope love would ease my sense of danger.

See,

I understand what Solange meant when she said she tried to smoke it away,

Touch it away,

It away.

Use music to drown out the pain.

I painted butterflies in the smudge glass.

I tried to minimize the pain from my past.

I convinced myself what wasn't enough would last.

Love can and will conquer all,

But it will never make you feel small.

And it'll never ask you to build emotional walls,

Because love knows your emotions are your greatest strength.

Love calls you to learn how to surf the new waves,

Not drown in them.

Love is responsive,

And love is you.

1 John says God is love,

So I do think that it is the most sacred thing you can do.

No,

I know it is the most holy thing you can do,

But you must do it to you.

When you find yourself appreciating a flower,

A butterfly,

A kind word from a friend or a lover,

Be reminded that what you're enjoying is inside of you,

Too.

Chase your joy.

Jump in the healing living waters.

Don't hover.

Answer this call to internalize the value of your being,

The value in you being.

Don't you know you were born worthy?

Don't you know that you were never perfect,

And yet you have always been loved?

Don't you know you have never been perfect,

But you have always been a reflection of God in this world?

Live from that place,

From that truth.

Grow from that place,

From that truth.

We deserve to learn how to breathe and find the sacredness in that,

Not how we serve someone,

Not how important we are to someone's life,

Not how we make someone laugh.

We deserve to find the sacredness in our existence.

Before we knew all of this stuff,

Before we could do all of this stuff,

Before we had all of this stuff,

We were born worthy.

We have always been worthy.

And God has always wanted to shower us in that everlasting,

Abundant love that has been available for us since we were,

Before we were babies.

You know,

I don't know what happened way before then,

But my notes are running out here,

And so do my expectations of what this meditation will be.

Thank you for vibing with me as I try a new format of letting prayer and poem infuse with one another and just allowing our breaths to be what they will be.

So let's take a deep breath in.

Hold it.

And let it go.

Let's take another deep breath in.

Hold it.

And let it go.

Let's take another deep breath in.

Hold it.

And let it go.

Let's take another deep breath in.

Hold it.

And let it go.

God,

I thank you for this moment where we can reflect,

Meditate,

Pray,

And just find solace and peace in the moment,

In the moment of us being in your presence,

In the moment of us feeling your being,

Feeling your love.

I pray that no matter what,

Whoever is listening to this is going through,

That we feel your love,

That we feel your connectedness,

That we are reminded that the circumstances that we are experiencing are not unique to us,

And therefore somebody else has gotten through it,

And therefore we can as well,

That you will remind us that there are solutions to be found in community.

There are solutions to be found in showing up.

However we are,

However emotional we feel,

However amiss we feel,

There is power in us showing up each day,

Each time,

Just as we are.

I pray that you carve out so many moments for us over this next week,

Over this next month,

Over this next year,

Where we just get to enjoy ourselves,

Just get to enjoy our lovely presence,

Just get to enjoy our own humor,

Our own beauty,

Our own glow up,

Not for anybody else,

But just because we have witnessed our entire journey.

We have witnessed where we have come from.

We have witnessed ourselves talking mean to ourselves,

And now we don't talk as mean,

Even if we still have moments.

We have witnessed so much of our growth,

So much of our transformation,

And in all of that witnessing,

It can be very easy for us to not appreciate how far we've come,

And how much we've worked,

And it can be so in us to feel like we just have to keep working,

We have to keep toiling,

But I know that this is a season where you're calling us to rest,

To rest in who we are,

To rest in who you've called us to be,

To not focus on what is in the sense of things might not be where we want them to be,

But to focus on what is becoming,

Because you have shown us the truth about ourselves,

The truth that we don't have to do anything to earn your love,

To prove that we're so special,

That we're so perfect,

Because we're not perfect at the end of the day.

You see our flaws,

You see the things that we need to work on,

And you help us with it,

And you love us through it,

And I thank you.

I pray that no one who is listening to this will be paralyzed by the fear of making a mistake,

The fear of being seen trying,

The fear of not getting it right the first time,

The fear of saying the wrong things.

I pray for liberation in our being,

I pray for liberation in our existence,

And I pray for liberation in our thinking,

I pray for liberation in our prayers,

And everything that we do,

May you infuse it with liberatory principles,

With liberatory thinkings that will leave us more whole,

Seeing our humanity in more beautiful ways,

And seeing how deeply we are a reflection of you in this universe,

In this world,

In this time,

In this dimension.

I love you.

Amen.

In Jesus' name.

Alright.

Hey y'all,

I just want to say thank you so much to the Insight Timer community,

And just to let y'all know how much of a blessing you've been to me over these past few months.

In so many ways,

It feels like I have been grieving this entire year,

And navigating through some intense waves of emotion,

And there are so many times when I might be having a rough day,

Or might not be as centered on my calling or on my purpose as I want to be,

As I need to be,

And then I'll see a review from one of y'all about how much my tracks mean,

So I just want to say thank you,

Because as much as y'all say that I help y'all with these meditations,

Y'all also help me to keep going.

Y'all also remind me of the value of breath,

The value of being,

The value of just allowing yourself to go through things sometimes,

And to not feel like you gotta pull yourself out to produce.

I thank y'all so much,

And I'm so grateful for y'all,

And I'm so excited to deepen our connection and to really invest in this community,

Because this community has deeply invested in me.

Thank you so much,

And I hope you got what you needed.

Thank you.

Thank you for this beautiful prayer and meditation. On this final day of 2025 I want to express gratitude to you for these meditations that are always so perfectly timed for me. I was trying to be very intentional about my final meditation of the year and as I was searching I started one from someone else and said this doesn’t feel right. I then came to this one, one I have never done, and it was just so perfect in every way to close out the year. Perfect because it was from the heart and expressed the many emotions I have felt this year. Thank you Desi for every meditation you have shared. May 2026 be an abundant and blessed year for you and those you touch. I look forward to meditating with you in the new year 🫢🏽
