OK,
So this is the six elements of body awareness.
So we're going to approach mindfulness with the body in six slightly different ways,
Each connected but with a slightly different emphasis.
I think it's always worth trying things in slightly different ways in meditation and then you can fall upon something that works most effectively for you.
So if any of these six elements is particularly effective and you don't want to move on to the next one then that's fine,
You can stay with that element.
So the first element of body awareness is contact,
The sense of touch.
So take some moments to go through the body,
Noting any part of the body that is in contact with anything else.
And for each area of contact really feel that sensation of connection between the body and whatever the body is in touch with.
You might feel a sense of pressure,
Of warmth,
Of solidity.
And just a reminder as I notice my mind wandering there,
If at any point during this meditation your mind wanders that's absolutely fine.
As the purpose of connecting with the body is really to connect to the present moment,
If you notice your thinking then you are present because you can only think in the present moment.
So don't be too fixed on focusing on one.
