Welcome to this body positivity session.

Today we will be focusing on all the positive aspects of ourselves to cultivate a healthy sense of appreciation for our body and for who we are.

Much of the self-talk you engage in regularly is unkind.

You beat yourself up,

Hold yourself to unrealistic standards,

And compare yourself with others in a negative way.

With mindfulness,

You can tune into this voice and become aware of this unhealthy way of relating to yourself.

You can also learn to intentionally tune into the things you appreciate about yourself.

Even if they aren't obvious in every moment,

There are,

In fact,

Many aspects of yourself that you like and feel positive about.

Sit upright with your back,

Neck,

And the crown of your head aligned,

And gently pull your shoulder blades back and down,

Raising your ribcage slightly.

These small shifts will create a true physical openness for your heart,

An openness consistent with the positive emotions you aim to cultivate today.

Now close your eyes and bring your awareness to the sensation of the breath,

Coming in and out for a few moments.

You can focus on the chest,

Abdomen,

Or nostrils.

Allow the mind to settle and focus by returning your attention to the breath as many times as necessary.

Once the mind has settled down a little bit,

Let's begin by bringing something to mind that you appreciate about your body.

Ask yourself,

What do you like about your body?

And just pause to appreciate and contemplate it for a moment.

It may be a physical feature,

Like your hair or skin,

Or it may be a quality,

Like strength or flexibility.

As something arises,

Stay present with the experience of liking this part of yourself for a few breaths.

Good.

Now let's focus on the five senses.

Sight,

Smell,

Taste,

Hearing,

And touch.

Go through each sense,

Recognizing the beauty and pleasure it has brought you.

For example,

Recognize that your sense of hearing has allowed you to hear the voice of a loved one.

The sense of touch has allowed you to feel the comfort of a hug.

Be with each sense and the gifts it brings you.

Allowing these feelings of appreciation to grow and expand.

Use this feeling to fully embrace and accept who you are,

Turning any self-criticism into a feeling of gratitude and acceptance.

You are not here to conform to any preconceived standards or idea.

You are here to express yourself in your own unique ways.

To embrace yourself and to be who you are is the most powerful way to shine and bring what you are meant to bring to the world.

And now listen to the following words as they resonate from within yourself.

You may repeat them silently with the voice of your mind.

I love and accept myself.

I fully embrace my body.

I am happy to be who I am.

I appreciate all my positive qualities.

I care for myself,

Nourishing my body and cultivating my mind.

Let these words reverberate for a moment.

And whenever you are ready,

Take a couple of deep breaths if you feel like.

And gently open your eyes.
