Hello,
I'm Diana and I'd like to welcome you to this new meditation,
Meeting and holding your younger self.
I'd like to invite you to take a moment to settle into a comfortable position.
You might be sitting,
Or you could choose to lay down.
Whatever feels most restful for you right now.
And then I'd like to invite you to gently close your eyes,
When that feels safe for you,
Or otherwise soften your gaze.
Let your shoulders drop a little more with each breath that you take.
And then take a slow,
Full,
Deep breath in through your nose,
And a gentle sigh out through your mouth.
And again,
Breathe in.
Let your breath come naturally now,
Without forcing.
Allow your body to feel supported by the surface beneath you.
Supported.
Safe.
And held.
When it feels right to you,
Bring one hand to your chest and one to your belly.
This is a soft gesture of connection.
And just breathe here for a few more moments.
You are safe.
You are not alone.
And now,
When you feel ready,
I would like to invite you to begin imagining yourself walking through a gentle path.
Perhaps in a forest.
Or a field.
Or even along the edge of the sea.
Somewhere calm,
Peaceful and timeless.
Notice the details of this place.
What colors do you see?
What sounds do you hear?
What's the temperature like?
This is a place that your heart knows.
It is a place of peace.
As you walk,
You notice a small figure in the distance.
A child.
They're sitting or playing.
Perhaps drawing in the earth.
Or simply resting.
As you come closer,
You begin to realize this child is you.
A younger version of you.
Take your time.
There's no rush.
Let them notice you.
Let them feel your presence.
Notice how old they are.
What are they wearing?
What's their face expression?
Are they curious?
Tired?
Whatever they are feeling,
It's okay.
You are just here to witness.
To be with them.
If it feels right,
Kneel down beside them.
Let them know who you are.
The adult version of them.
You may want to say something like,
I see you.
Or,
I am here now.
I'm not going anywhere.
Or simply,
You are safe with me.
You may feel emotions rising.
That's okay.
Let whatever comes,
Come.
You are not broken.
You are healing.
If your younger self feels comfortable,
Offer them your hand.
Or perhaps,
Hold them in your lap.
Or maybe,
Wrap them in a warm blanket.
Let them rest against you,
Heart to heart.
Speak to them softly.
You might say,
You didn't deserve what happened to you.
Or maybe,
I believe you.
It could also be,
It is not your fault.
Or perhaps,
You'd like to say,
You were always lovable.
Then also.
Or otherwise,
I am here for you now.
And maybe even,
You don't have to carry this alone anymore.
Feel your breath move in and out as you hold this younger version of yourself.
Stay here as long as you need.
There's no right or wrong way to do this.
Let love move from your heart to theirs.
Let your presence say what words cannot.
When you feel ready,
Gently let the image fade.
You might consider telling your younger self,
I will come back to you again.
You're never alone now.
Watch them smile,
Or wave,
Or curl up in peace as you gently rise from your sacred place.
And begin to walk back the way you came.
Step by step.
Slowly coming back into the present.
Feel your body again.
Your feet.
Your legs.
Take a deep nourishing breath in.
And sigh it out.
Bring your awareness back into the room.
You may want to move your fingers a bit.
And wiggle your toes a little.
Gently blink your eyes open.
Take a moment to notice how you feel.
Emotionally,
Physically and spiritually.
There's no rush to move.
You've just done something courageous.
You've just tended to your heart in a deeply meaningful way.
Carry your younger self with you gently today.
In your breath.
In your choices.
And in your kindness.
And remember,
You can return to this space,
To your younger self,
At any time you wish to.
And now when you feel ready,
You may continue with your day.
I would like to encourage you to sit with the feelings that came up in this meditation.
And when you feel that this could be beneficial to you,
Journal a bit about it.
And I'd like to thank you for joining me today in this meditation.
Till next time.
