In this meditation, I introduce the use of a mantra to the meditation. A mantra is a sound or phrase which in this case is repeated silently as the object of attention during the meditation. This meditation is a common introduction to mantra meditation which uses the mantra So, Hum in combination with the inhale and exhale. The method of mantra meditation can help calm the mind if you find that your mind is often distracted by sounds or thoughts around you.
