In this meditation,
We honor the darkness of the winter season and reconnect with the light within.
When you're ready,
Close your eyes,
Take a deep breath in and let it go.
Begin to bring your awareness to your breath,
Watching as it flows in and out of your body.
Perhaps you feel the belly rise on the inhale and soften on the exhale,
Paying special attention to that little pause after the exhale.
With your eyes closed,
Let yourself become aware of the darkness all around you.
The darkness of the night.
The darkness of the season.
Let yourself feel held by this darkness.
Let the darkness invite you to rest,
To settle,
To pause.
This is a time when we go inward and listen to the stillness.
Like a pause after the exhale,
This is a time of stillness that allows us to see the magic within and all around.
Scan through your body now,
Noticing if there is any tension you can release,
Starting with the soles of your feet,
Ankles,
Relaxing your calves and thighs,
Your pelvis,
Lower abdomen,
Navel area,
Solar plexus,
Softening the space around your heart,
Melting away any tension from the shoulders,
Arms and hands,
Releasing tension in the neck,
The jaw,
The muscles around and behind your eyes and your whole face.
Bring your awareness to your inner light.
See it shining like a beautiful twinkling star within your being.
Notice the colors,
Sounds or images that may arise.
Feel your light shine brighter and brighter with every breath,
Shining through your whole being and beyond your body.
Experience the magic of this light and how brightly and beautifully it shines through the darkness.
Let this light now melt away any worries,
Anxiety,
Stress,
Fear,
Anything that you are ready to surrender.
As we go deeper into the winter months,
As the darkness and the cold grows around,
Slowing down and taking the pause allows us to anchor more in the inner light,
Inner warmth,
Inner resource of joy,
Love,
Clarity and peace that is always within you.
Notice if there is anything your body or your soul are asking for as you move into or move through the winter season.
Take a deep breath in.
When you are ready,
Bring your palms together to touch and rub them to create some heat.
Place your hands on your body and feel the warmth coming in from your hands.
Keep the image and the feeling of your inner light deep within your heart and your mind,
Seeing yourself as a beautiful bright star shining in the clear dark winter sky.
And let this light illuminate and warm your winter months.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
I am wishing you a bright and magical winter time.
From my heart to yours,
Namaste.
