Our universe and ourselves are composed of both light and dark, feminine and masculine energies. In this meditation we will establish a divine balance and neutrality. We will harmonize these aspects of ourselves, accepting the universe as it truly exists, and coming to embody our truest expression.

Welcome to this guided meditation.

Today we will be working to embody balance and neutrality.

The masculine and the feminine,

The dark and the light live within all of us.

But often we find ourselves tilting one way or the other,

Embodying one but denying the other within ourselves.

By coming into balance with our truest nature,

We step into empowerment and bring our highest selves into the world.

Before we start this practice,

Please come to find a comfortable seated position where your spine is straight and you can relax into the posture.

You want to leave your head balanced gently atop with your chin ever so slightly tucked.

Keep your shoulders back and relaxed,

Your chest open and your heart lifted.

Whenever you're ready,

Close your eyes.

Take a deep breath in,

Filling yourself all the way up and hold.

Squeeze in your stomach and your back and release.

Let's take one more deep breath like this and so breathe all the way in and hold.

Squeeze everything in and release.

Perfect.

Allow your breath to fall into a natural,

Steady rhythm,

Breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Breathe lightly and make no effort to control its rhythms.

Feel yourself breathing in life force energy and feel yourself releasing all tension and anxiety.

Breathe in health and vitality and breathe out over attachment.

Let yourself settle in.

And so let's briefly scan our bodies.

Scan from the top of our heads,

Let us scan through and sense any tightness,

Any holding within our muscles.

Check the muscles of your face,

Release and relax all that you find.

Let your jaw loosen.

Allow your shoulders and your neck to relax while ensuring you keep your chest open.

Feel the relaxation dropping into your arms and hands.

Loosen and relax everything you find.

Release your attention on your abdomen,

Your lower back and belly and relax.

Let it all melt away.

Sinking further into your hips and your thighs,

Relax all that you find.

Now into your knees,

Ankles and feet.

Relax it all.

Finally focus on your entire body as a whole.

Feel your outline as if you were your own skin.

And relax everything and let it all float away.

Allow yourself to sink deeply into the present moment.

Flow with your breath.

Flow with the moment.

Having relaxed our bodies and minds,

Let us now come back to our intentions of establishing a balance within.

I want you to imagine two separate archetypes,

Your feminine archetype and your masculine archetype.

These are going to look different for everyone.

But I want you to imagine what that aspect of yourself looks like for you.

Your feminine archetype could be anything.

It could be a poet.

It could be a mother or a goddess.

It could be a warrior or an empress.

It could be a teacher or an artist.

Whoever you are,

Imagine your archetype now in as much detail as you can.

Now imagine your masculine archetype,

It may be a hunter or a father.

It may be a teacher.

It may be an artist.

It may be a caregiver.

It may be a governor.

However you imagine your masculine archetype,

Decide it now and imagine them in as much detail as you can.

Perfect.

Now I want you to imagine yourself in a clean white room.

The bright light of the room overwhelms you.

Feel these two archetypes joining you now.

See the feminine archetype coming to sit directly before you.

Know that the masculine archetype is with you as well.

I want you to imagine yourself pulling energy from the universe.

Realize that the universe is composed of energy and that every square inch,

Every millimeter,

Every molecule of this living universe contains prana.

And as you breathe,

I want you to see this drawing into yourself through your crown,

Through your feet,

Through all of your body's subtle meridians.

And know this is coming from every direction.

This energy is infinite.

This material universe goes on and on and it is filled with an abundant energy.

So as you pull this into yourself,

Feel it pooling at your solar plexus,

The spot right in the center of your abdomen below your breast bones.

Feel that spot glowing.

Feel it warming and pull the energy in,

Storing it there from the universe at large.

Now see your feminine archetype sitting directly before you and project the energy at your solar plexus into the energy of their solar plexus.

Feel it connecting.

Feel yourself sharing the infinite energy of the universe.

And feel the flow coming back to you.

Feel your femininity emboldening.

Feel this archetype embodying itself within you.

And feel yourself coming into balance with that aspect of yourself.

For the next minute,

Allow yourself to connect with your own feminine archetype.

Let go and embrace the process.

Dance.

Now,

See your feminine archetype standing.

And see them moving away,

Staying in the space with you,

But allowing your masculine archetype to come to sit on the ground before you.

Imagine them in detail,

And check back in with the universal energy you're consistently pulling into your body and pulling at your solar plexus.

Now,

Seeing in detail this masculine archetype,

Project the energy from your solar plexus out towards theirs.

Feel it connect.

Feel yourself sharing this flow of energy.

And feel the returning flow.

Feel the masculine energy inside yourself,

Balancing.

Feel this archetype coming to embody itself within you.

And as we sit here for the next minute,

Soaking in these balancing energies,

Just relax into the process.

Allow it to happen.

Now.

Come into balance with our feminine and our masculine energies.

See these archetypes leaving you,

And see the white room floating away.

Find yourself in space.

Find yourself on a distant moon with no atmosphere,

Sitting in your meditative posture.

This is a rocky,

Barren place,

But there is a beauty,

The universe,

Brightly surrounding you.

Soak in this atmosphere.

As you remain relaxed,

Make sure your palms are face up on your lap.

Our cultures and ideologies often impose upon us a view that the light,

Rather than the dark,

Is what you be striven for.

While certainly the forces of light are needed on this planet and within every one of us,

When we don't embrace the dark that exists within us,

It comes up in unexpected ways and manifests itself in our life in ways we don't want it to.

For those who lean too far towards the dark,

The light will come into their life and disrupt and make things feel unfair or unbalanced.

By stepping into neutrality with our own innate darkness and light,

We can come to embody the truth of the universe.

We can come to embody a higher experience of living that transcends the ideas of good and evil,

The ideas of positive and negative,

And come into understanding that the universe exists just as it does and we exist just as we do.

And by living those truths,

By embodying our truest nature,

We can eliminate the suffering in our life,

We can eliminate the push and pull from dark to light.

And so,

As you sit here on this moon beneath the stars,

I want you to imagine your right hand pulling in the dark energies of the universe.

Imagine this right hand holding the dark,

Harnessing the creative powers,

And allowing the dark aspects of yourself to come into balance.

In your left hand,

Imagine yourself pulling in the light.

Feel it radiating.

Feel it balancing the light aspects of yourself.

Feel it harnessing that creativity.

And as we sit here,

Just breathe,

Relax into the process.

Trust that it's working,

Knowing you are safe here and just allowing it to happen.

Having come together with the intentions of balancing ourselves and embodying neutrality,

Let us come back to our bodies.

Let us allow these things we've learned today,

These things we've balanced today,

To carry over into our lives.

So we may eliminate suffering from our day-to-day experience by being true to ourselves and by embracing the universe as it is.

And so,

Feel into the space around you,

Sensing your environment.

Wiggle your toes.

Wiggle your fingers.

If there are any tightnesses in your body,

Let yourself stretch and release them.

Take a big restorative breath in and out.

Whenever you're ready,

Open your eyes.
