Invocation of the Earth Spirit via Muladhara.
Sit comfortably either cross-legged on the floor or in a chair with your feet flat on the ground.
Rest your hands on your knees or thighs,
Palms down for grounding and close your eyes,
Allowing your body to soften into stillness.
Bring your awareness to the rhythm of your breath.
Take a slow inhalation through the nose,
Feeling the breath expand the belly first,
Then the ribs and the chest.
And exhale gently through the mouth,
Releasing all tension.
Continue in this slow,
Deep rhythm.
With each breath,
Invite your body to fully arrive in this moment.
Now begin to lengthen your breath.
Inhale to a slow count of four.
Hold briefly and exhale to a slow count of six.
Notice how the longer exhalation soothes and settles you.
With every exhalation,
Imagine a gentle release,
Muscles loosening,
Thoughts softening,
Your energy descending.
With every inhalation,
Imagine drawing in strength,
Stability,
And calm.
Move your awareness downward,
Down the body,
Through the hips,
Into the legs,
The ankles,
The soles of your feet.
Feel the weight of your body pressing into the ground.
You are supported.
Now bring your attention to the base of your spine,
The seat of Mooladhara,
And visualize a glowing red ember at the root of your being.
With each breath,
It becomes warmer,
Brighter,
Steadier.
Inhaling,
See this red light pulsing softly.
Exhaling,
Feel it anchoring you deep into the earth.
Now imagine roots extending from the base of your spine and the soles of your feet,
Reaching down into the soil beneath you.
With every breath,
They grow deeper,
Through layers of earth,
Stone,
And crystal,
Until they touch the great body of the earth.
Sense the vast presence of the earth spirit,
Ancient,
Alive,
And breathing.
The consciousness that holds the forests,
Mountains,
The oceans,
And the deserts.
In your heart and mind,
Speak these words inwardly.
Great spirit of earth,
I honor you.
I open myself to your grounding,
Your wisdom,
Your strength.
Be with me now,
And guide me into balance and belonging.
And feel the response,
Perhaps as warmth,
A pulse,
An image,
Or simply a knowing.
Trust whatever arises,
And allow yourself to commune in silence with the spirit of the earth.
As the earth spirit's presence surrounds you,
Notice how your root chakra glows even brighter.
Imagine red,
Steady,
And alive.
Feel the earth's energy flowing upward through your roots and filling the base of your spine with stability and vitality and safety.
Receive the qualities of the earth as they move through you.
Weight that steadies you.
Nourishment that sustains you.
Endurance that strengthens you.
And belonging that roots you in life.
Let your breath carry these qualities into every cell of your body.
Begin to slowly release the visualization.
Bringing your awareness back to your body in this moment.
Notice your breath again.
Steady and calm.
Notice the support beneath you.
Notice the quiet strength within you.
Silently give thanks to the earth spirit for its presence.
Take three deeper breaths now.
And on the final exhalation,
Imagine sealing this connection in your root chakra,
Glowing red and strong.
And when you feel ready,
You can wiggle your fingers and toes.
Roll your shoulders.
And open your eyes.
Returning with grounded clarity and a steady heart.
