This grounding practice is designed to pull your attention out of mental loops and bring you back into the current moment. You will be guided through a relaxing breathing technique, extending your exhales to help settle your nervous system, before moving into a step-by-step exploration of your five senses. By consciously tuning into what you can hear, see, touch, taste, and smell, you learn how to anchor yourself safely in your immediate environment. As you layer these sensory experiences together, you will build a stronger connection to your physical body and your surroundings. This simple somatic exercise is an excellent way to quiet an overactive mind, release physical tension, and rediscover the innate, natural pleasure of simply being present. It is a wonderful choice for whenever you need to feel more awake, centered, and rooted in your day-to-day life.
