Have you ever thought about what the chances are that you exist?
Close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in.
And with your exhale drop into your body.
As your eyes are closed,
You open your eyes to your inner world.
Have you ever stopped to think about how absolutely extraordinary it is that you are here,
Right now,
On this planet,
In this universe,
Alive,
Out of all the stars,
All the galaxies,
All the billions of years that came before you?
Somehow,
Here you are.
A living,
Breathing human being.
With a heart that beats,
Eyes that can see the colors of a sunset.
Ears that can hear music.
A mind that can imagine entire worlds that don't even exist yet.
And a heart that can fall in love.
Isn't that incredible?
We live on a planet that is spinning through space,
Orbiting a star.
Inside a galaxy filled with billions of other stars.
And that galaxy's just among countless others.
And somewhere in all of that,
There is you.
With your little worries,
Your dreams,
Your memories,
Your favorite songs.
The people you love.
The things that make you laugh until your stomach hurts.
And somehow,
All of it matters.
Maybe not to the entire universe,
But to someone.
To the person whose life changed because they met you.
To the person who remembers something you said years ago.
To the person who feels a little less alone because you exist.
And isn't that beautiful?
That in a universe so unimaginably vast.
The smallest moments can mean everything.
A hand reaching for yours,
A stranger smiling at you,
The smell of rain after a hot summer day.
The way sunlight moves across your bedroom wall.
The sound of someone you love laughing.
We spend so much of our lives waiting.
Waiting for things to get better.
Waiting to become successful.
Waiting to find love.
Waiting to have more money.
Waiting for the perfect moment to finally feel happy.
And all the while Life is happening.
Right here.
In the ordinary moments we barely notice.
The way the sky turns pink for just a few minutes before the sun disappears.
And one day you might look back.
And realize.
Those were the moments.
Those were the beautiful parts.
Because you got to experience them.
And here's something I found absolutely fascinating.
The elements that make up your body.
Were formed through cosmic processes that began long before Earth existed.
The calcium in your bones,
The iron in your blood.
Oxygen you breathe.
You are made of matter with a history older than this planet.
The universe has been unfolding for billions of years.
And somehow.
That matter became you.
A being capable of looking up at the stars and wondering where it all came from.
To think about it.
The universe created something that can wonder about the universe.
And that something is you.
Maybe we will never understand why we are here.
Maybe we will never have all the answers.
But perhaps we don't need to.
Perhaps the miracle isn't in understanding everything.
Perhaps the miracle is in getting to experience anything at all.
To feel the wind against your skin.
To taste your favorite food,
To hear a song that brings tears to your eyes.
To fall in love.
To have your heart broken.
To heal and to begin again.
To become someone you never imagined you could be.
What a strange.
.
.
Beautiful,
Extraordinary gift.
And I know,
Sometimes life is hard.
Sometimes life is unfair.
Sometimes you look around and wonder why things aren't happening the way you hoped.
But even then,
There's still a sky above you.
A world you haven't fully explored.
People you haven't met.
Places you haven't seen.
Songs you haven't heard.
Versions of yourself you haven't become.
There are still moments ahead of you that will make you so grateful you kept going.
And maybe that's what I want you to remember today.
You're not just moving through another ordinary day,
You're experiencing something extraordinary.
Something mysterious,
Something that,
As far as we know,
Is incredibly rare in this vast universe.
You are a life.
You get to be here,
For this tiny precious moment in the history of everything.
You get to love,
To create,
To explore,
To wonder,
To feel,
To exist.
And maybe,
Just maybe,
That it's always something worth celebrating.
So the next time you look up at the night sky,
Remember.
You're not separate from this extraordinary universe.
You're part of it.
Made from the same ancient matter.
Living beneath the same stars.
And somehow,
In all this endless space,
The universe has a place for you.
And what a beautiful thing that is.
