This is a meditation on courage,
Faith and following your calling.
There's a story that has echoed through thousands of years.
A story about fear.
A story about faith.
A story about what happens when a human being chooses trust over certainty.
Most people know it as the story of David and Goliath.
Goliath was a giant,
A warrior,
A force so intimidating that entire armies froze in fear.
Every day he stepped forward and challenged the people before him.
And every day no one moves.
Not because they lacked weapons,
And not because they lacked strength.
But because they believed,
The giant was bigger.
And they were.
Until one day.
A shepherd boy appeared.
He was young,
Unknown,
Unproven.
He had no armor.
He had no sword.
He had no guarantee he would survive.
And yet,
He stepped forward.
Not because he wasn't afraid,
But because his faith was greater than his fear.
And he believed something.
Most people forget.
The size of the obstacle.
Means nothing when God walks beside you.
Tonight,
This story is no longer about David.
It is about you.
Close your eyes.
And listen carefully.
Do not listen with your ears.
Listen with your soul.
Deep goes to deep.
And something ancient within you is remembering.
Imagine yourself standing on a vast field.
And the sky above you stretches endlessly.
The earth beneath your feet feels alive.
You are standing in the edge of your life.
Behind you is everything you have ever known.
Every comfort,
Every certainty,
Every identity,
Every version of yourself that felt safe.
And before you.
Stands your giant.
Perhaps it's fear.
Perhaps it is stout.
Perhaps it is the dream that feels too big.
The business,
The purpose,
The calling.
The love.
The next chapter.
The thing your soul keeps whispering about when the world becomes quiet.
You see and you feel it.
And if you are honest,
Part of you is terrified.
Notice that.
Notice how human it is.
Notice how every great soul that ever walked this earth felt exactly the same.
Fear was never the enemy.
Fear is simply the doorway.
The question has never been,
Am I afraid?
The question is.
.
.
Will I walk anyway?
Take a deep breath and take a moment.
And stand before your giant.
Look at it.
Really look at it.
Notice its size.
Notice its voice.
Notice every reason it gives you for why you should stay small.
Why you should wait.
Why you should play safe.
Why you should remain who you have always been.
And now realize something.
The giant is lost.
But the truth.
.
.
Is quiet.
The giant screams.
But God.
Whispers.
The giant tells you what could go wrong.
But your soul reminds you who you are.
And suddenly.
You'll remember.
You remember every challenge you already survived,
Every heartbreak.
Every disappointment.
Every moment you thought would break you.
And yet here you are.
Still breathing.
Still standing.
Still becoming.
You were never abandoned.
Not once.
Even when it felt like darkness.
Even when you couldn't see the path.
Even when everything made no sense.
Life carried you.
God carried you.
Something greater.
Carried you.
And if it carried you then?
Why would it leave you now?
Feel that question.
Why would life bring you this far,
Only to abandon you at the edge of your purpose?
It wouldn't.
It never has.
And it never will.
Now imagine David standing beside you.
Not as a boy,
But as a symbol.
A reminder.
A reflection.
And he asks you one question.
What if the giant isn't here to stop you?
What if the giant is here to reveal you?
Because perhaps the obstacle is in punishment.
Perhaps it is initiation.
Perhaps a giant exists so you can discover the strength you didn't know you possessed.
Perhaps the mountain exists so you can discover your wings.
Perhaps the challenge exists so your soul can finally remember its power.
And suddenly,
Something begins to shift inside you.
Not outside,
Inside.
You stop looking at the giant.
And you begin looking at God.
You stop measuring your limitations.
And begin remembering your source.
You stop asking,
What if I fail?
And begin asking,
What if I am supported beyond what I can currently imagine?
What if the path appears as you walk?
What if courage comes after the first step?
What if the miracle is waiting on the other side of your decision?
Feel your heart opening.
Feel your chest expanding.
Feel something ancient awakening.
It's not arrogance,
This is faith.
Faith.
Does not mean certainty.
Faith means moving before certainty arrives.
Faith means walking before the bridge appears.
Faith means trusting the next step without seeing the entire staircase.
Faith.
Means remembering that the same force that placed the dream inside you also created the path to fulfill it.
You weren't given your purpose by accident.
You weren't given your vision by accident.
You weren't given your gifts by accident.
Life doesn't plant a seed without already knowing the tree.
And tonight,
Your soul remembers.
You were never meant to live a small life.
You were never meant to shrink yourself to fit other people's fears.
You were never meant to betray your calling in exchange for comfort.
You came here for something.
Something real.
Something sacred.
Something that only you can bring into this world.
And the moment you stop running from it.
Life begins running toward you.
Now see yourself stepping forward,
One step toward the giant.
Toward the dream.
Toward the unknown.
Toward your destiny.
Notice that the giant grows smaller.
And smaller.
And smaller.
The giant didn't change,
But you did.
Because every step strengthens your faith.
Every step deepens your trust.
Every step reminds you.
Who walks beside you.
Can you feel it?
The Presence.
The law.
The intelligence that created stars and oceans.
The force that breathes through every living thing.
The same force that breathed through you.
You're not separate from it.
You never were.
You never walk alone.
You never fight alone.
You never create alone.
Feel that truth moving through every cell of your body.
You're supported.
You are guided.
You are protected.
You are chosen for the path before you.
And now,
From the deepest part of your soul,
Repeat silently.
I trust the path before me.
I trust the wisdom within me.
I trust the timing of my life.
I trust what I cannot yet see.
I trust God.
I trust myself.
I trust the calling placed upon my heart.
I trust that everything is working for me.
I trust that I am being guided.
I trust that courage is already within me.
I trust that I am ready.
I trust that I am ready.
I trust that I am ready.
In one final time.
See yourself as David.
Standing before your giant.
Heart beating.
Hands shaking.
Fear.
Present.
But faith.
Greater.
And with absolute certainty,
You understand.
The giant was never the story.
The courage was.
The faith was.
The trust was.
And now it is your turn.
Walk forward.
The path is waiting.
The dream is waiting.
Your future is waiting.
And God has already gone ahead of you.
