Hi there,
My name is Dana Demara.
Welcome to Insight Timer.
I would love to lead you through a meditation today about envisioning.
I use this meditation in multiple workshops and trainings and I just love it.
And this meditation is designed to give you a view of what it feels like to observe your thoughts and your deepest desires.
So I'm going to ask that you truly drop in today.
So make sure that you are in a place where you won't be disturbed and distracted and you've made some ample time for yourself.
I would recommend potentially having a journal nearby for this one if you are that type where you like to write things down,
Because this meditation in and of itself may open up some portals of inspiration for you.
Not necessary or mandatory,
Just an invitation.
And when you're ready,
Please feel free to take a comfortable seat.
And as always,
Just take a few cleansing breaths.
So in through the nose out through the mouth,
Just allow yourself to be free from the moment before and free from the moment after.
And just get really present with your breath.
So allow that breath once you've cleared your vessel to come to center,
Come to what we call Ujjayi breath.
That little breath that sounds like a teeny snore at the back of the throat nourishes the body in so many ways.
I want you to imagine now for a moment that you're sitting in a movie theater.
And it's not quite dark yet.
There's the illumination of a screen in front of you.
But you are the only one in the theater.
And you're sitting in the theater and kind of waiting for the show to start.
You're all comfy and your feet are propped up on the chair in front of you.
And you're just looking at this movie screen waiting for the main act to begin.
And the lights go down in the theater finally,
And the main movie begins.
And it begins with you.
You are seated in the most calming meditative state ever in your most welcoming environment.
So that may be anywhere for you.
It could be a meadow,
A beach,
A mountain,
Your own backyard could be where you are right now.
Find your awareness,
Observe from the movie theater from the seat in this movie theater yourself in a very calming meditative position in your most welcoming environment.
And just observe yourself marveling at how calm you are in awe of your ability to hold such deep space of stillness.
Get so lost in observing yourself from your movie theater seat that you actually arrive in that spot.
You're not surprised,
You're delighted.
And begin to feel into the elements of where you are.
You begin to feel if there's a breeze,
If it's warm or cold.
You maybe even hear sounds of wrestling of the trees or waves wherever you are.
You begin to hear the sounds,
Feel the elements on your skin.
Maybe you even begin to smell the smells,
Smell the pine,
The ocean smell,
Flowers,
Whatever it is,
You begin to smell the smells,
You actually bring your body into a visceral experience of your most welcoming environment.
And you keep breathing like that just really grounding into this beautiful space of feeling and knowing and experiencing.
And after a while,
Keeping your eyes closed in your own meditation,
You on the video screen opens eyes and you notice in the distance people walking toward you.
There's now now there's activity.
If you're on the ocean,
Maybe it's another boat coming toward you.
But you begin to notice activity and other people coming toward you.
And as they get closer,
You notice who they are,
Some familiar faces,
Maybe some not.
And you start to feel this beautiful sense of joy emanate through the body and gratitude for these people who have shown up in your meditation in your most welcoming environment.
And in the space where you are with this people that allow you to feel joy and reflected joy to you,
You begin to enjoy your day and you begin to envision what this storyline this movie will reveal for you.
You do the things that you love the most with the people that you love the most.
And every breath you take,
Maybe the colors of this movie get brighter.
Maybe the outlines of their faces and the picture become more clear and defined.
Maybe it gets so vivid,
You can taste something in your mind's eye that brings you joy.
You fill every cell of your body with this feeling of complete and utter joy and fulfillment and satisfaction and beauty for life or love or time.
And you stay here as long as you'd like or as long as you have.
So I always pause the recording if the story is filling you up.
You'd like to follow it some more.
But in a moment in time,
Just a little energy body that reminds you it's time to come back to your internal gaze of meditation.
So slowly the scene begins to fade.
And there's no grief or worry or loss in that.
And you begin to allow those feelings those elements,
Sounds,
The smells,
Tastes,
Drop into your body and you find that comfortable seat again on the screen.
Whole body relaxed,
Connected.
Slowly that screen begins to fade.
You are back in the movie theater.
I want you to stay here as long as you'd like.
But before you go about the rest of your day,
My invitation to you is to begin what I call Zen writing.
And where you just pick up a pen and paper and begin writing what you saw what you felt,
What you experienced who was there.
Don't worry about sentences or punctuation or anything in particular at all.
Just write what you saw.
That's it.
Try not to judge it.
Don't be distracted.
Don't worry about spelling.
But just capture that envision,
Dream that you created your mind.
Now that you can come back to this anytime and use this platform to continue to envision.
In the meantime,
I want to thank you so much for being here and taking time out in your day.
What a gorgeous practice this is.
I hope to see you again.
In the meantime,
Have a beautiful,
Beautiful blessed day.
Namaste.
