We can find within ourselves the felt sense of steadiness and stability, spaciousness and permeability, and fluidity. These feelings allow realignment and release of held patterns. When we rest deeply, the body has the capacity to shift toward a state of health and wholeness, and gain access to it's innate healing power.

Bring your attention inward and be aware of how it is inside right now.

Just noticing any sensations that are present.

Noticing the quality of the breath.

Feeling the content of the mind settle.

Let the energy gather in your back.

Let it all shift backward.

So it's around your spine.

That you really feel present in your spine,

In the back of your head.

As you breathe,

Let the breath move up and down the spine.

Breathing in,

Moving up from the base of the spine to the top of the head.

Exhaling,

Breathing back down the length of the spine.

Really inhabiting the spine from the inside.

Feeling yourself fully present there.

Be present in the bones of the head,

In the skull,

The jaw.

Feel yourself inside the forehead,

In the cheekbones.

Come down into the shoulders,

Inhabiting the space inside each shoulder joint.

And also the space between the shoulder joints,

The collarbone,

Shoulder blades.

Sitting inside the shoulder joints,

Feel the continuity between the torso and the arms.

Come down and inhabit the bones of the upper arm,

The elbows.

The lower arms and wrists and each delicate bone in the hands.

Feeling yourself fully present from the inside.

Really drop in so that it's not the mind being aware of the bones,

But the bones themselves being in a state of awareness.

Feel the aliveness inside the bones.

Come down into the rib cage and the sternum.

And into the bones of the pelvis.

Feel your body supported by the pelvic structure and the spine.

And come deep inside into the hip sockets,

Resting awareness in both hip sockets at the same time.

And from those points,

Feeling the continuity between the torso and the legs.

Awareness in the pelvic bones and the upper legs at the same time,

The large bones of the thighs,

The femurs.

Feel the aliveness inside the knees,

The bones of the lower leg,

The ankles,

And the many intricate bones of the feet and toes.

And come deep inside into the hip sockets,

Resting awareness in both hips.

And come deep inside into the hip sockets,

Resting awareness in both hips.

And come deep inside into the hip sockets,

Resting awareness in both hips.

Let awareness be in the whole skeletal structure at once.

Letting go of the thinking mind and letting all the bones be aware.

Resting in this awareness all the way into the centers of the bones and the marrow.

Perhaps even feeling the aliveness of the bones,

As well as the steadiness,

The stability.

Let the steadiness be a resource for you.

Let the breath move through the stillness without disturbing it.

And so now,

Even as the bones are there and available to you anytime as a resource,

Let the awareness shift to the fluids in the body,

The blood flowing through the veins and arteries.

The water in every cell of the body.

And even the craniosacral fluid that flows around the brain and spinal column with a very slow tide.

In the stillness,

You might sense the movement of the tide of the craniosacral fluid.

Again,

Letting go of the thinking mind.

So the mind is not aware of fluidity,

But your whole being is fluidity and fluidity is aware.

Just experiencing this state of being from the inside.

In this fluid state,

There's the possibility of emotions,

Sensations,

Even physical patterns,

Unwinding.

Emotions that are out of alignment,

Coming into alignment.

The releasing of what's no longer needed.

You might notice the movement from core to periphery,

From the center of the body toward the arms or legs,

Toward the top of the head.

Just tracking any movement that you sense,

Any shifting.

Honoring and allowing anything that wants to unfurl.

There is no trying,

Just allowing,

Trusting the wisdom of the body.

If at any moment you need the steadiness of the bones,

They're right there for you.

And then when you're ready,

Coming back to the fluid state.

Another dimension of our being is the breath.

We can sense the permeability of the body and the possibility of the breath moving right through.

So there's no separation between the breath inside the body and the breath outside the body.

This body is permeable for the energy of emotion,

Which is carried on the breath.

We can breathe into every part of us.

Breathe all the way into the arms,

Down the legs,

Through the torso into the space behind,

The space around.

And let the whole body be breathed.

Aww,

That was so close.

And now returning to the bones and the fluids and letting all three states of being come into balance with each other,

Feeling at one time the steadiness of bones,

The fluidity,

The permeability.

And now returning to the bones and the fluids and letting all three states of being come into balance with each other,

Feeling at one time the steadiness of bones,

The fluidity,

The permeability.

Thanks for letting me experience liveness of the bones, brilliant! Often I just think of my bones as a 'dead" thing (those you can find in the ground after we pass) But they are full of life and deserves attention and celebration!

Real slow paced guide through the body, and not in the usual ways. This is a gem.

This took me to such a deep place. I really appreciate the long silences. They’re only a few minutes but give me time to really absorb the guidance and experience the feelings. So many guided meditations are all talk with no room to exercise my internal meditation abilities. Thank you Cynthia!
