Hello and welcome to today's session.

This session is going to focus on a Reiki grounding meditation through our chakral system,

And then we will do a mountain meditation for wholeness.

You may notice that this mountain meditation sounds familiar.

I did borrow the script from somewhere online,

But I also changed a few things,

Making it a little bit more Reiki relevant.

So when you're ready,

Finding a comfortable seat for yourself,

You can be seated or lying down.

It's okay.

Whatever you need today is where you're at.

Start to imagine roots growing from your feet.

I am a little nature-minded sometimes,

And so I do like to imagine energetic roots growing from my feet.

So we grow those energetic roots down to the ground,

Rooting ourselves in the earth and the land that we're upon.

And this may be a good point to recognize and give a land acknowledgement to the indigenous peoples who walked on the land before you did.

If you live in a space where you know the tribes who lived and worked the land before you came upon it,

This is a good place to recognize them and their ancestors,

Their traditions.

Take a few moments here and recognize that.

As we grow our roots down into the ground,

We're growing them down towards Reiki ball,

Light,

Energy,

Warmth at the center of the earth.

This ball of light,

Energy,

And warmth,

It contains grounding energy,

Life energy.

You can connect to it with your energetic roots that we just grow through the ground.

Once you feel connected,

You took some time growing through the different layers.

Connect to that ball of warmth,

Light,

Energy,

Love at the center of the earth.

And start to bring that energy up.

Maybe it looks like little droplets along the spider web,

Little droplets coming up your roots.

Maybe it looks like something else,

Could be light illuminating those roots on its way up.

However you've imagined that,

It's all right.

We bring that energy up through our root system,

Being connected to the light,

That warmth,

That energy,

The grounding energy at the center of the earth.

We're bringing that up.

We're going to bring it up through our feet first.

So the bottoms of the feet,

Our toes,

Tops of the feet,

And the ankles,

The shins,

And the calves,

The knees,

Backs of the knees,

Thighs,

And the backs of the thighs,

All the way up to our root chakra.

This root chakra tends to be depicted as a red color.

This red color could be cardinal or ruby,

Rose,

Wine,

Cherry,

Dark red or a light red.

Could change with the seasons or the place that you're at in the world.

Whatever red color here comes to mind for you,

See if you can allow that to shine here at the base of the spine.

You can allow that light to shine forward and back,

Side to side,

Up and down along the central energy channel of the body.

The root chakra is in charge of having us feel grounded and secure and safe in our lives.

See if you can allow that light to shine here,

Allowing it to radiate outward in all directions.

You can also imagine your root chakra and all of your chakras as lotus flowers.

This can help with visualization.

So when you're ready,

You can bring that energy up just slightly to the sacrum,

To our sacral chakra,

Juncture of the thighs,

Where our genitals are usually located.

Our sacral chakra is associated with sexuality and sensuality,

But also creativity.

The chakra tends to be depicted as an orange color.

This could be orange,

Coral,

Carrot,

Pumpkin,

Apricot,

Peach.

Can be a bunch of other different orange colors.

You can allow that light to shine here,

Shining it forward and back,

Side to side and up and down along the central channel of the body.

And when you're ready,

Bring that energy up just slightly to the navel,

To right above our belly button.

This is our solar plexus chakra.

You can place both hands here if you would like.

Our solar plexus chakra helps us feel strength as well as self-confidence.

This chakra tends to be depicted as a yellow color.

See if you can imagine this yellow color shining here,

Just above the belly button.

This can be the color of a daffodil,

Sunflower,

The color of the sunshine on a bright,

Sunny day.

Lemon,

Saffron,

Mustard.

Whatever yellow color here comes to mind for you,

Allow it to shine.

See if you can shine that light forward and back,

Side to side,

Up and down along the central channel of the body.

And when you're ready,

Moving that energy light warmth up to our heart chakra.

You can also leave one hand on the belly,

One hand on the heart.

This posture can help calm you if you're feeling anxious.

Take a few moments here.

You can also bring both hands to the heart if you need a little more self-compassion at this moment.

The heart chakra is associated with love and compassion.

It tends to be depicted as a green color.

This green color can be pine,

Malachite,

Jade,

Sage.

Whatever green color here comes to mind for you,

You can allow that to shine.

And as we bring that energy from our solar plexus chakra to the heart chakra,

As we remind ourselves to be strong with love and compassion for others,

We can allow this light of compassion to guide us in our lives.

Again,

You can leave your hands here.

You can have one hand on the belly,

One hand on the heart,

Both hands on the heart,

If you would like for the rest of the session.

The next inhale,

Bring that energy up to your throat chakra.

Your throat chakra is associated with communication,

And so we want to also communicate with love and compassion in our lives.

This communication can also be non-verbal communication,

All forms,

Writing,

Online interactions,

Face gestures,

Expressions.

Our throat chakra and reiki gets depicted as a light blue color.

This light blue color can be turquoise,

But it can also be a darker color,

Could be sapphire or cobalt,

Indigo,

Navy,

Could be blueberry.

Whatever blue color here comes to mind for you,

You can allow that to shine.

We're going to shine it forward and back,

Side to side,

Up and down along the central channel of the body.

And when you're ready,

Bringing that energy up to the third eye chakra.

Our third eye chakra is located a third of the way up the forehead.

You can also cup the forehead here,

Cupping the back of the head.

This can help relieve tension,

Stress,

Anxiety,

Could help you focus a little bit more.

If you need a little bit more focus in your life or need to focus this energy,

You can also close your eyes and focus on the tip of your nose.

This will allow you to bring that energy in just a little bit more,

Help with concentration.

Our third eye chakra tends in reiki to be depicted as a purple color.

Although I know in other yogic and Vedic traditions,

This could be a white color.

But for our purposes and for reiki meditation,

It's described as purple.

This purple color can be a lighter purple like lavender and lilac,

Could be a darker color like violet or plum,

Purple orchid,

Amethyst.

So whatever purple color here comes to mind for you,

See if you can allow that to shine.

You shine that in all directions,

Forward and back,

Side to side,

Up and down,

All directions radiating from our third eye.

This chakra is associated with intuition and foresight.

And when you're ready,

You can bring that energy up to the crown chakra.

Our crown chakra is depicted in reiki as a white color.

And that is because this is our universal connection,

Right?

It connects us to that white light energy of the universe of reiki.

And so imagine for a moment maybe,

If it's comforting to you,

A thousand-petaled lotus sitting at the top of your head.

And each point of that lotus has an energy point.

And that energy point shoots out energy and connects to other energy points out in the universe.

And then the center of the lotus of the crown chakra is the connection point for that reiki energy.

And maybe start to imagine that reiki energy coming in through the center of that flower,

The top of your head.

And sit with this for a moment or two,

Because we've just grounded ourselves with that reiki energy through one side of our chakras,

Through the grounding energy of the earth.

So you can imagine maybe that energy coming up one side of the chakra and then the universal energy coming in through the crown chakra,

Coming down through the other side of our chakras.

Allow this energy to circulate through both sides.

Grounding energy of the earth,

Universal connection point.

Universal energy flowing freely through our chakras,

Up one side and down the other.

If it's comforting for you,

Something you need to do at this moment,

You can also start to divert that energy from your crown chakra outwards.

You can do this by sending it out to your aura.

So take a few moments here,

Sending that reiki out to our aura,

Imagining ourselves being surrounded by this white light energy,

Feelings of love,

Security,

Safety,

Health,

Warmth,

Compassion,

Empathy.

You are always connected to the earth energy and you are always connected to the universal energy.

Just take a few moments with this.

Feel that connection and we will go into our mountain meditation.

So if you can,

See if you can relax your face into a smile.

Relax the muscles of the mouth,

Your face and your jaw.

See if you can turn your lips up just slightly.

See if you can relax your shoulders,

The tension out of your neck and back while keeping yourself upright if possible.

Close your eyes,

Bring attention to the flow of your breath.

Just feel each breath as it comes in and out.

Observe your breathing without trying to change it or regulate it in any way.

You can allow the body to be still.

See if you can start to feel a sense of dignity,

A sense of resolve,

A sense of being complete and whole in this very moment.

Your posture might reflect the sense of wholeness and calmness,

A sense of solidness.

As we are one with reiki,

This energy of the universe,

Which surrounds us and is always accessible with our connection to nature and to the universe by just being alive.

We can use this nature connection and picture with our mind's eye as best we can.

The most beautiful mountain that we know of,

Have seen or can imagine.

Start to hold the image and feeling of this mountain in your mind's eye.

Let it gradually come into greater focus.

Observe its overall shape,

Its lofty peak high in the sky,

Its large base rooted in the rock of the Earth's crust.

Its steep or gently sloping sides.

Notice how massive it is,

How solid and unmoving,

But how beautiful it is,

Both up close and from far away.

And what does your mountain look like?

Is there snow at the top?

Are there trees on the lower slopes?

Does it have one prominent peak or a series of peaks,

A high plateau?

Whatever its shape or appearance,

Just sit and breathe with the image of this mountain.

See if you can observe it,

Noticing its qualities.

If you're ready and you're comfortable with this,

See if you can bring that mountain into your own body,

So that the body sitting here and the mountain in your mind's eye become one.

As you sit here,

You share in the massiveness and the stillness and majesty of the mountain.

You become rooted as the mountain through your sits bones and your head becomes its lofty peak,

Supported by the rest of the body.

Your shoulders and arms are the sides of the mountain.

Your legs and feet are the base and roots of the mountain.

Start to experience in your body a sense of uplift from deep within the spine.

And with each breath,

As you continue sitting,

You become a little bit more of a breathing mountain,

Unwavering in your stillness,

But completely what you are,

Beyond words and thoughts,

A centered,

Rooted,

Unmoving presence.

As you sit here becoming aware of the fact the sun travels across the sky,

Light and shadows and colors are constantly changing moment by moment.

Night follows day,

Day follows night.

There's a canopy of stars with the moon and then the sun appears.

And through it all,

The mountain just sits there,

Experiencing a change in each moment.

It is constantly changing,

Yet it is always itself.

It remains still as the seasons flow into one another and the weather changes moment by moment and day by day.

It is calmness abiding all change.

The mountain's magnificence and beauty are not changed one bit by the way people see it or by the weather.

Seen or unseen in clouds or sun,

Day or night,

It just sits,

Being itself.

At times it may be visited by violent storms,

Buffeted by snow and rain and winds of unthinkable magnitude.

Yet through it all,

The mountain continues to sit unmoved by the weather,

By what happens on the surface,

By the world of appearances.

And so in the same way as we sit in meditation,

We can learn to experience the mountain.

We can embody the same unwavering stillness and rootedness in the face of everything that changes in our own lives.

Whether this place takes place over seconds,

Hours or years.

In our lives and in our meditation practice,

We constantly experience the changing nature of our body and mind,

As well as that in the outer world.

We have our own periods of light and darkness,

Our own moments of color and drabness.

Certainly we experience these storms in the outer world,

As well as within our own minds and bodies.

We endure these periods of darkness and pain,

But we also endure the moments of joy.

And our appearance will change constantly as well,

Experiencing a weather of its own.

By becoming the mountain in our meditation practice,

We can link up with its strength and stability and adopt it for our own.

We can use its energies to support our energy and to encounter each moment with mindfulness and equanimity and clarity.

It may help us to see our thoughts and our feelings,

Some of our preoccupations,

Maybe even our emotional storms and crises can be very much like the weather on the mountain.

This weather of our own lives is not to be ignored or denied,

But it is to be encountered,

Honored and felt,

Known for what it is and held in awareness.

And in holding it in this way,

We come to know deeper silence and stillness and wisdom.

Mountains have this to teach us and more if we come to listen.

And with that,

I hope you feel a little more whole at this moment,

Wherever you're at in the world.

Thank you so much for listening to this meditation.

I will also end with the Reiki precepts,

Although some of you who have seen me do these live meditations know that I changed the first couple.

The first one from Usohe Matso says,

Just for today,

Do not be angry.

And so I say just for today,

Use my anger wisely because anger is just another emotion.

And we can use this emotion,

We can use this energy to create change in our lives,

To acknowledge maybe something that is wrong that needs to be fixed.

And that's okay.

So anger can be helpful emotion.

Just don't let it be destructive,

Right?

So just be careful with it,

Inquire about it.

Why are you angry at this moment?

Is it something you can let go of?

Or do you have a real reason to be angry?

And the same goes for the next one,

Right?

So the next one says,

Just for today,

Do not worry.

And I changed it to,

Just for today,

Use my worry wisely.

There are lots of things to be worried about in the world.

It's okay to acknowledge that.

It's okay to realize that worrying is again another form of energy.

We can use that worry to plan for the future if we can,

If we're able to.

If it's something we can let go of,

If we inquired with it through meditation practices or other forms of looking at it.

You know,

That's okay too.

We can see if we can let it go.

But again,

There's a lot to be anxious and angry about.

So I'm not going to tell anybody not to feel those emotions.

That's up to you.

The next couple are a little easier depending upon your relationships with other people.

One of them goes along the lines of,

Just for today,

Honor my parents,

Teachers,

And elders.

The next one is,

Just for today,

Show gratitude for every living thing.

And the last one is,

Just for today,

Live honestly.

And so this can be about speaking your truth.

This can be about working honestly,

Finding honest work in your life.

Whatever that means for you,

You know,

Take it for what you can,

What you will,

And what you need.

I wish you well in this moment.

I hope this meditation has helped you feel a little bit more calm and solid and whole in your own life.

Thank you so much for joining me today.

Namaste.
