The wheel of the year turns once more to the Sabbath of Imbolg.
Winter is burning.
Seasons are turning.
New life is coming back to us.
Imbolg means in the belly.
Animals are now giving birth or nursing their young.
Thus we typically celebrate this time with milk,
Cheese,
And other dairy products.
Bread making is another way to celebrate.
This is also the celebration of Brigid,
The pagan goddess of fire.
So it's customary to have white candles burning throughout our homes and on our dinner tables.
Brigid is also associated with healing,
Creativity,
And protection.
She is considered to be the goddess of the hearth.
Winter is burning.
Seasons are turning.
New life is coming back to us.
Lady of the hearth.
Lady of the flame.
Brigid's blessings be upon us,
As we call her name.
Imbolg blessings to all.
