Transcript

Welcome to this loving-kindness meditation for parents.

Begin by finding a comfortable sitting position and gently closing your eyes.

Take a moment to connect with your breath.

Notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest.

Now bring to mind someone you love deeply.

It could be your child,

Partner,

Or another loved one.

Picture them in your mind and silently repeat these phrases.

May you be happy.

May you be healthy.

May you be safe.

May you live with ease.

Feel warmth and compassion as you send these loving wishes toward them.

Now expand that circle of warmth and compassion to include yourself.

Silently repeating each phrase.

May I be happy.

May I be healthy.

May I be safe.

May I live with ease.

Allow this loving-kindness to fill your heart,

Bringing peace and acceptance to yourself as a parent.

And extend this kindness toward all parents,

Wishing them peace and ease on their parenting journey.

Sensing the connection you have to all other parents,

Wanting the best for their children,

Feeling moments of challenge,

And ultimately showing up for their children with love and kindness.

As you're ready,

Gently start to bring yourself back,

Taking a long,

Slow breath in and a long,

Slow breath out.

Bringing some small,

Gentle movements back to your body and mindfully transitioning back into your day.

Thank you for your practice.
