If you don’t like, know or feel equipped to follow the ‘rules’, you’re not going to play the game. You don't have to meditate in any particular place, in a specific way or at a certain time. This practice shows you how you can keep your eyes open whilst still beginning to harness that inner calm - this method is especially perfect for those days where you want to stay aware of what’s going on around you, or don’t feel comfortable with the eyes shut.

Transcript

Keeping your eyes open,

Bring the hands to rest down in the lap or lightly on the knees.

Take a lift up tall through the crown of the head and allow a sense of ease and relaxation to wash over the whole body.

Softening down through the neck and past the shoulders.

Feeling the rise and fall of the belly with each inhale and exhale.

Coming now to let your gaze land on a spot in front of you.

Gently relax the muscles around the eyes and in the face.

You keep lightly watching that space.

Notice how the edges of your vision begin to soften and blur.

Notice how without shifting the gaze you can start to take in any colours or shapes around you.

Feel the softening that carries throughout the whole of the body as you simply sit and watch that space.

Then coming to blink the eyes once or twice,

Shift and awaken your gaze,

Bringing awareness back into the space around you.

Amazing!! Loved it 🤍 //Only thing I’d point out – the audio was super low! Had to turn my volume on my headphones almost aall the way up. But thank you for this amazing meditation xx
