In a completely calm and clear-looking ocean, there's still a whole world of life going on underneath. We're no different. Even when we sit quietly, there's so much happening underneath the surface that we're not even aware of. In this practice, you’ll begin to tune into and feel for the energy, movement and vibration that occurs in the body beneath the surface of what we see, even when we think we’re really, REALLY still.

Become comfortable however you're sat,

Moving and adjusting anything you need.

Take a slow roll forwards and backwards in the shoulders.

You'll be taking a stretch of the head and the neck from side to side.

Bring the hands now to rest down in the lap or on the knees.

Bring your gaze to be a soft focus.

Let the eyes just gently close.

Allow a stillness now to come into the body as you begin to turn your attention inward.

Feel yourself letting go of any tension you might be holding around the eyes or in the face.

Release any gripping that you have around the jaw,

Shoulders or all the way down into the belly.

Tuning in now to the flowing of the breath.

Watch as it enters in through the nose,

Travelling down past the throat,

The chest and the ribs all the way down into the belly.

Watch as the breath leaves the body on the exhale.

Notice that even from the outside we might look completely still.

But inward there's a constant flow of energy and movement within the body.

Almost like a light hum or a vibration.

How does that vibration move or change with the flow of the breath?

Follow and observe that light buzz of energy as it travels all the way through the body,

Watching for where you can feel it the most at any time.

Bring your mind back now to the stillness of the outer body.

Allowing that inner energy to begin to spread through to the hands and to the feet.

Taking a little wiggle,

A little movement.

Take a roll of the head once again from side to side.

Before opening the eyes and returning to your day.

Very peaceful. I love the contrast between the energy of the inner self and the stillness of the outer self.
