Are you ready to meditate with Kari?
Make sure that you're all comfortable in your bed,
That everything is just right in your room.
You're wearing your cozy pajamas.
This way you can let your body relax as you lay in bed and you listen to the story.
Heidi,
Cherry and Veya had gone over to Tucker and Leo's house.
They were planning a night out.
It had been four weeks since the cats had been over to Tucker and Leo's.
Veya had seen something advertised in the local newspaper.
There was a community cooking class and she really wanted to go,
Especially now that they had the chance to be human sometimes.
Cooking was something that Veya thought was very important,
That they all needed to learn how to take care of themselves and at least be able to cook some meals for themselves.
They were growing up after all.
So when Veya,
Heidi and Cherry got over to Tucker and Leo's house,
Veya asked Tucker if it would be okay if he could get his magical stone and they could become human because she wanted to go somewhere very special.
Yes,
Of course,
Of course.
You know me.
You know me,
Veya.
I would like to be human anytime.
If I could be human all the time,
I think I would be human all the time.
Oh,
Actually,
No,
I wouldn't because I do like to lick puppies and I do like to lick kitties and sometimes I like to put kitties' heads in my mouth and just pretend and just think for a little moment that maybe I could eat them.
But I wouldn't eat them because I'm a good Tucker and I don't eat kitty cats anymore because since Mr.
Kitty lived at my house,
I've been so used to not eating on kitty catties,
Especially Mr.
Kitty because Mr.
Kitty used to punch me in the face every time I went near him.
He was so aggressive.
So yes,
Yes,
Yes.
Anyway,
Yes,
I would like to be human,
Please.
Tucker went out onto the back garden.
He went over to where the Buddha statue is in the back garden.
He dug underneath the statue,
The place where he keeps his magical stone.
It wasn't a full moon.
Normally,
If it's a full moon,
Tucker holds it up to the full moon so that the light shines through.
It was a new moon.
There was no moon in the sky.
Tucker,
Under this new circumstance,
Wasn't sure if his magical stone was going to work.
He held it up to where the moon would be,
Shining in through the window.
No moon,
No light.
I know what,
Said Tucker,
I'll just shine my torch on it.
We'll see if that works.
Tucker held the stone up and shone a bright torch right there onto his stone.
Luckily,
The stone started to get more bright.
The white part of the stone became brighter and the golden veins and threads that ran through the stone started to shine really,
Really bright.
And then his angel appeared in the stone.
Obviously,
Tucker figured out that the stone was activated with light,
Sunlight,
Moonlight,
And now,
Thank goodness,
The light from a torch.
His angel was hovering there in the sky,
Looking as beautiful as she always did.
You get one wish,
Just one wish,
She said to Tucker,
And then waited very patiently for Tucker's wish.
Maybe one day Tucker would wish for something different.
But since they enjoyed being human so much,
This seemed to be the wish that he used every single time.
I would like to be human along with all of my friends,
Please.
Vea has something she wants to do.
And just like that,
All of them were stood in the kitchen,
In their human bodies once again.
Vea was wearing bright yellow dungarees with a white t-shirt.
She had platform converse on that were bright yellow that looked super cute.
She looked like a ray of sunshine.
Cherry was wearing a red skirt and a black t-shirt.
The black t-shirt said OMG on the front.
She was very happy about that.
Heidi was wearing jeans and a jean jacket and she got blue rimmed glasses on.
She was also wearing some white sangles and she looked super cute.
Leo,
Quiet,
Timid,
Shy,
Beautiful Leo was stood there in a white t-shirt and jeans.
He was also wearing some sneakers.
And Tucker,
Tucker had on his jeans and a blue and white striped t-shirt.
Tucker said as he flicked his hair back,
All cool now that he was human again.
So what are we doing Vea?
Vea said.
Well,
I saw in the local paper that there is a class not too far away that's a community cooking class and tonight they're going to teach us how to make omelettes and I'm so excited.
I want to go and do that.
I've heard that it's so much fun.
Apparently,
Different people go and they go and hang out and they're all different ages and there's a chef that teaches you how to cook and I was thinking since we're all being humans so much that you know,
I think it's important that we know how to cook a couple of meals for ourselves because what if our parents aren't around or what if we're starving or what if we wanted to like impress our friends or maybe go on a special date or something and we didn't know how to cook.
I mean,
How sad is that?
I think it shows initiative if we all know how to cook and apparently it's not too hard to make an omelette.
Cherry said.
OMG Vea,
I think that's a great idea.
I know I'm going to be such a good cook.
I've been thinking about that myself,
You know,
Because you know,
Sometimes like when you're human,
You have to take care of yourself,
Don't you?
It's not like being a cat or a dog or a guinea pig or a horse or a sheep or a rhinoceros or anything like that.
I mean,
No one's just going to bring you meals all the time,
Are they?
I mean,
Like sometimes you're in the house on your own and you're like,
Okay,
I'm old enough to do the cooker.
I'm old enough to know to close the fridge after I've used the fridge.
I'm old enough to know that I don't leave the oven on.
I'm old enough to know all these things,
But I mean,
What do you do with an egg?
So this is brilliant.
Now I get to learn how to make an omelette.
Tucker,
I'm going to make such a good omelette and you're going to taste my omelette,
Tucker,
And you're going to be like,
Oh,
Cherry,
You'll make the bestest omelettes in the entire world.
And I'm going to be like,
Yeah,
Tucker,
I know you should marry me.
Just kidding.
Tucker pulled her face as if to say,
What is she talking about?
Marry me?
Does she really mean it?
But he just left it off.
So they all got ready to go out.
They walked because it was only a couple of blocks away.
And when they got there,
The event was actually a free event.
So they didn't have to worry about money or how to pay for it or anything like that thing.
They'd kind of not been thinking about that too much.
They were just hoping that sometimes when they turned human,
They'd got money in their pocket for the things that they needed money for.
But on this particular night,
The event was free.
They all happened to be placed on the same table because they were friends.
They could all hang out together.
Leo said,
I like cooking.
I think it's something that's really creative.
This is such a good idea,
Vea.
Vea said,
Oh,
Thanks,
Leo.
Yeah,
I know.
I was thinking,
Same,
Same.
This is going to be so good.
And I'm going to be like,
OK,
So when I grow up and I'm a princess,
Even if I am a princess when I get older,
I would like to make my own meals sometimes,
Even though I would imagine princesses have their meals made for them.
Because I mean,
They would probably have people that do that,
Right?
But still,
I think princesses are allowed to be able to be good chefs,
Too.
Heidi started laughing,
Thinking about Vea being a princess when she got older,
Especially Vea as a girl.
I mean,
Vea as a cat dreaming about being a princess is one thing,
But Vea as a girl dreaming about being a princess.
I mean,
How many princesses are there in the world?
Hmm.
Or maybe you could just be a princess and not actually have to have an official title.
You could just call yourself princess if you wanted.
If you believe that you're a princess,
Then you can be a princess.
That's what Heidi decided to settle on.
In front of her were two eggs,
A tiny bowl of mushrooms,
A tiny bowl of broth,
A tiny bowl of onions,
A tiny bowl of garlic,
A tiny bowl of peppers,
A tiny bowl of spinach,
And a tiny bowl of sausage.
All the things you could put in your omelette.
Oh,
And of course,
A big bowl of cheese.
OMG,
Said Cherry.
Look at everything that we could put in this omelette.
I don't even know what I want in my omelette.
Now I'm stressed.
Do I want a cheese omelette?
Do I want a spinach omelette?
Do I want a cheese and broccoli omelette?
Do I want peppers and sausage omelette?
Make it a bit spicy.
Oh my gosh,
I'm spoilt for choice.
Leo said,
I think I'm going to just do a mushroom omelette.
Ooh,
Said Vea.
That sounds nice.
I think I'm going to do just a cheese omelette.
Lots and lots of gooey,
Ooey melted cheese.
Heidi said,
Ooh,
That sounds really good.
Tucker said,
I'm just going to put all of them in,
Because it all looks good to me.
And I'll eat anything.
Everybody started laughing,
Because it's pretty obvious that Tucker will eat absolutely anything.
Even the stuff he's not supposed to eat,
Tucker eats.
And he's the same as a boy.
He's terrible as a dog.
He would eat garbage as a dog.
He would eat a cat as a dog,
If he had half a chance.
But as a boy,
As a human,
Well,
He's kind of just as bad.
He's one of those people that clears everything off your plate when everybody else has finished.
Are you done with that?
And Tucker will eat it.
Have you finished with that?
Tucker will eat it.
Are you going to leave that crust on your pizza?
Because I'll eat the crust.
That's Tucker.
He's one of those.
Tucker decided he was going to put every single ingredients into his omelette.
The lady was introducing herself.
Her name was Chef Melissa.
She looked very nice and friendly.
There was about maybe 20 other humans in there,
Different ages.
Some of them were the same age as Tucker and Leo and Heidi,
Cherry,
And Vea.
And some of them were older.
And some of them were very,
Very old.
Cherry said,
How'd you get that old and not know how to cook an omelette?
Ha,
Ha,
Ha,
Ha,
Ha.
Maybe they'd never cooked an omelette before.
Stop judging them,
Said Heidi.
Cherry said,
All right,
OMG.
OMG,
I'm just saying.
I mean,
They've got so much gray hair.
How can you not know what to do with an egg by the time you're that old?
I mean,
Give me a break.
Unless they're princesses.
It was two old ladies that she was talking to.
Maybe they're princesses,
Vea said.
Yes,
Maybe.
And they didn't need to cook until now.
All of a sudden,
They've decided that they want to know how to make an omelette.
Who cares,
Cherry?
Just listen.
Cherry shut up.
They were all following the directions of Chef Melissa.
First of all,
They had to warm some oil in a pan.
Be careful with the fire.
Be careful with the heat.
Don't put your fingers in it.
Watch the hot oil.
Make sure you don't throw things in the pan so it doesn't spit on you.
And you get burnt by the flying oil.
All of the rules were coming out.
Chef Melissa covered everything.
Thank goodness,
Because Tucker was not a natural chef.
Tucker was a bit disastrous.
The place where Tucker was cooking was so messy.
He had eggshell all over the place.
Splashed egg everywhere.
His onions had flown out all over the cooker.
He was just a mess.
Leo,
On the other hand,
Was a very good chef.
And his omelette,
When it was all finished,
Looked perfect.
You would have thought that Gordon Ramsay had cooked it or something.
It was so fancy.
Heidi made a cheese and broccoli omelette.
Cherry made a sausage and pepper omelette with lots of black pepper to make it a little bit spicy.
Vea just did the cheese omelette.
And Leo did the mushroom omelette.
Tucker did an everything omelette.
Everything,
Including everybody else's ingredients that they didn't use.
There were so many ingredients in Tucker's omelette that there was barely omelette.
Because he only had two eggs.
It was basically a pile of ingredients with a little bit of egg around it.
But Tucker was very happy with it.
Chef Melissa walked around the room and helped people when they needed it.
She told them how to whisk the eggs so they were light and fluffy.
And they would make a really light,
Fluffy omelette.
That was important.
She told them how to wait long enough so that they didn't flip the omelette too early.
Because if they did,
The omelette would fall to pieces.
The eggs had to be cooked and firm enough to be able to flip it and fold it in half.
She told them how long to cook the eggs so that it wasn't runny and snotty in the middle.
When she talked about snotty eggs,
Cherry started acting as if she was going to be sick.
She kept going,
Snotty eggs.
I can just imagine it.
Faye said,
Oh please,
Please stop.
Faye's omelette was beautiful.
And then she sprinkled it with grated cheese at the end with a little bit of salt and pepper on top.
It looked so pretty.
By the end,
They all got to eat their own omelettes.
Tucker had a piece of cheese dangling from his lip down below his chin.
Cherry thought that was hilarious.
You know sometimes how your cheese gets super stringy when you eat it and then it was just like a long,
Long piece of string.
That's what Tucker had got on his chin.
And every time he chewed,
It was swinging around all over the place and Cherry was just killing herself laughing.
So gross,
Tucker.
You're so gross.
But really she liked it.
Tucker said,
This is the best omelette I've ever had.
Good idea,
Faye.
Faye was like,
Yeah,
Thanks.
Yeah,
I really enjoyed myself.
This was so much fun.
And I really liked us being able to cook together.
And it's so funny how we cook with our personalities.
Did you notice?
Heidi said,
Actually,
Yeah,
That's true.
I spent so much time trying to measure out exact ingredients,
Reading all the directions,
Listening to Chef Melissa.
Tucker didn't care and just threw everything in.
That's very,
Very much like Tucker.
Your omelette,
Faye,
Is so perfect and pretty,
Just like you always are.
Cherry's is a little bit spicy because cherry's spicy.
And then Leo's.
Leo's is just organized,
Safe,
Mushroom omelette,
Perfectly done,
Quietly presented,
Just like Leo is.
Leo blushed a little bit.
Thanks,
He said.
It really does look like a good omelette.
But like I said,
When they were eating them,
They all thought that their omelette was the bestest,
Bestest omelette they'd ever,
Ever had.
There's something about cooking for yourself and then eating.
It makes you so proud.
And they all felt really accomplished and very,
Very grown up.
They can cook a meal,
For goodness sake.
Why would you not feel grown up?
Why would you not feel independent?
How cool is that?
When the event was finished,
Heidi,
Cherry and Faye headed home.
They left Tucker and Leo to go home too.
When they all got home,
They made sure to brush their teeth.
They didn't want bits of mushrooms and egg and all that stuff stuck in their teeth.
And then they all got into their comfortable beds.
They were all cats and dogs once again.
They settled down,
Snuggled into each other and eventually fell fast asleep.
The End
