Moonbow Forest #16 - Sleep Story
In this Sleep Meditation Story you will enjoy this wonderfully relaxing meditation about Stephany visiting Moonbow Forest. For this particular topic you may want to be preteen/teen aged. Stephany starts her period in this story. This edition is all about the power of the moon, the cycles and phases of the moon, and how women are connected to those cycles. This story isn't inappropriate for yonger children but just wanted to pre warn in advance!

Are you ready to meditate with Kori?
Make sure that you're comfortable in your bed and everything is just right so you can relax your body and let go of your busy day.
Stephanie had felt some different changes lately in her life.
She wasn't quite sure what was going on but something about her body felt different.
Sometimes when she woke up in the morning her body ached as if she'd done a really hard workout the day before and she noticed that her moods were different.
Some days she felt like she could cry over anything,
Literally anything.
Movies on TV,
A book that she was reading made her cry and it wasn't even sad.
She just felt emotional,
A little bit unsteady and not so sure of herself.
She needed to go to Moonbow Forest.
She felt the need to be with all of her friends and be in that special place,
That energy,
The smells,
The sights,
Everything about Moonbow Forest always made her feel so much better.
Stephanie sat down at her dressing table in her bedroom.
She opened a jewelry box and took out her magical earrings.
At first she just put them down on the table in front of her and stared at them.
She got lost in a thought.
She wasn't sure where she went,
She just drifted away for a while with her finger and her thumb gently touching the earrings.
And then after a moment or two she came back,
Blinked a couple of times,
Picked up the earrings and put them on one by one.
She had to rearrange her hair,
Her hair had got longer.
So while she started to feel all the familiar feelings,
She pulled her hair to the side and gently braided it.
It was almost down to her waist.
Her nose was twitching and itching,
Her fingertips were vibrating as she braided her hair.
She could feel the shift starting to flow through her body.
Her cells felt as if they were activating inside of her.
Like when you're really thirsty and you have a drink of water.
It's almost as if you can feel the water going down and rushing through your body.
That's what this felt like.
She was in the phase where she was in between the two worlds,
Not quite at the doorway of Moonbow Forest yet,
But she definitely left her bedroom.
Her eyes had automatically closed and she was being pulled deeper and deeper into this magical space inside of her body.
And then the veil appeared in front of her eyes,
The doorway between this one and the other.
The magic from her earrings had worked successfully once again and she was about to step into Moonbow Forest.
She could already hear the most beautiful sounds.
It sounded like an orchestra was playing music that was so haunting and chilling and beautiful at the same time.
Like you wanted to hold your breath.
You didn't want to make a sound and disturb the noise.
She froze there for a moment wondering what was going on on the other side of the veil.
Wondering what was happening in Moonbow Forest on this visit.
She already could tell it was something very special.
She very slowly and gently pulled the curtain to one side that was there in front of her face,
Separating her from Moonbow Forest.
She stepped through.
She was magnetically pulled into the music as if as soon as she was through the curtain,
All of her cells went crazy inside of her body.
Like the music was just for her.
The music was like a magical sound that activated something inside of her.
She could feel her shoulders pulling back and her chest rising up towards the sky as if she was being pulled forward,
Walking on the grass barefoot without even trying.
She didn't even notice the feeling of the grass underneath her feet this time.
The part that she always enjoyed.
She normally really paid attention to the grass underneath her feet like it was part of her entrance into this world.
But today it wasn't even part of it.
Today something had taken over her entire body and it was pulling her forwards towards the woods.
She opened her eyes just barely and she could feel everything moving fast.
Like she was moving through time and space so smoothly and quickly.
It didn't feel jagged or bumpy or rushed.
It felt effortless.
Like she was floating.
And then all of a sudden everything stopped and she landed in a clearing deep in the middle of the forest.
The trees around her had formed a circle.
A perfect circle.
Just like the moon when it's full and bright in the sky.
She noticed that she was in the middle of a circle of eight unicorns.
Eight unicorns all divided very evenly around the circle.
Just like there would be if it was a clock when there were twelve.
One for each hour.
There were eight unicorns.
Each one of the unicorns had a gentle smile on its face.
Each one familiar to Stephanie.
The one directly in front of her was Luna.
And Luna bowed her head.
Stephanie bowed her head as they greeted each other.
Luna said that this was the time of the moon dance.
It's a very special time.
It's a time of change.
A time to celebrate.
It's a time of ancient honoring.
Devotion.
Admiration.
And most importantly,
This is a time of celebration.
Stephanie was completely enthralled in everything that Luna was saying.
There was an electricity in the air that was so strong.
She felt like she couldn't move.
Like she had a part in whatever this moon dance was.
But she didn't know yet.
And she didn't quite understand.
She looked at Luna and said,
Why eight?
Luna said,
We're in celebration this evening.
It's a celebration of you.
And the other one was celebrating Stephanie.
And there are eight unicorns here representing eight phases of the moon.
Eight phases.
Eight cycles.
Four cycles.
And they are very prominent.
And they will be important to you for the rest of your life.
But this evening we celebrate all of them.
This evening you learn the moon dance.
To her original spot where she was standing in the formation of the eight points in the circle.
Luna looked at Stephanie and Stephanie knew to just follow Luna and walk with her to her place.
Right next to Luna in the moon formation.
This is the beginning,
Said Luna.
This is the new moon.
You and me represent the new.
That part of the cycle where we let go of the old.
We release.
We remove.
We let go of all that that came before.
In the month that has just passed,
The new moon represents new beginnings.
Here you stand with me.
Next to me is midnight.
She represents the waxing crescent moon.
Next to her is solar.
She represents the first quarter moon.
Then there's Sadie.
Sadie is on the fourth spot.
She represents the waxing gibbous moon.
Directly across from us is eclipse.
She represents the full moon.
Then there is tides.
Tides represents the waning gibbous.
Next to her is Lola.
And she represents the third quarter.
Next to us is the seventh section.
That is Lara.
And Lara represents the waning crescent.
And then the cycle starts all over again,
Back to the new moon,
Right where we stand.
Stephanie looked around the circle of eight unicorns,
All facing inward towards the empty center of the circle.
Stephanie said,
Why is this important now?
What's this all about?
Luna said,
This is you,
Stephanie.
You will become a woman very soon.
And this will be your reality.
And it's important for you to know that you have a cycle each month.
In tradition,
You would follow along with the cycle of the moon.
The new moon represents your bleeding time,
The time when you release,
When you would be on your period.
The first quarter is like spring.
So the moon also follows the seasons of the year.
Just like the year has a winter,
A spring,
A summer and an autumn.
So does your body.
Your body each month has four seasons of the year.
And when you bleed,
That is your winter.
The first quarter moon represents your spring.
The full moon represents your summer.
And when you're in your summer on your cycle,
This is when everything is ready to be planted and seeded and born.
It's a birthing.
The full moon represents birth and life and energy and excitement and busyness and activation.
The full moon is when you would ovulate.
When you would release an egg.
And when you're older,
If it's time,
That would be when you would get pregnant and have a child.
The full moon is a very sacred time for you.
It's important that you cherish it.
You understand where you are in your body each month.
And you honor your cycle.
And then you would reach your third quarter,
Which would be autumn.
Things are slowing down in autumn.
You get quieter,
Slower,
Preparing for winter.
And when winter comes,
It's a time of withdrawn quietness,
Gentleness,
Tenderness.
For when you are in winter,
When you're bleeding,
When it's that time of your cycle,
That's when you're in your most powerful time.
That's when you're most psychic,
When you're most in tune with the earth and the cycle of the world and the earth and the moon and the stars.
You're connected to all of it,
Stephanie,
And it's time you understood your body.
Stephanie just listened.
And then everything changed once again.
The unicorns all started to sway and run forward towards the center of the circle.
They joined for a moment and then all pulled back backwards.
Again,
They moved forwards with the music,
Running to the middle,
Joined,
Connected,
And then pulled back out towards the trees.
They did this over and over and over again,
And Stephanie joined them each time.
After doing it,
For quite a while she lost count.
But what she did notice was it took over her body.
It felt like the waves of the ocean.
And how the waves of the ocean are connected to the moon,
How the tide comes in and goes out with the moon.
That's exactly what they were doing,
Like they were tied,
Pulling in and pulling out,
Pulling in and pulling out,
Over and over,
Like a constant on the earth,
Always present,
Always changing.
Every wave is magical and as unique as the last.
Every cycle is magical and unique as the last.
Constant month after month after month,
After year after year after year.
And in the daze and hypnotic state that Stephanie was in,
She realized the importance of everything that they were doing.
She connected in her mind that she was connected to the earth.
She was connected to the moon and the stars and the sun and her body had cycles,
Just like the planet had cycles.
And how special it was that she could create life.
One day she could create life.
And how that goes on and on through birth and birth and generation and generation.
And so it is,
The cycle of life.
And it all fit.
Stephanie realized why she had been feeling all those things in her body.
Stephanie,
That night,
In that moon dance,
Started her period.
She started her cycle.
She started the cycle of life.
After a while,
The dancing stopped and then there was a celebration.
There was all the wonderful things that you could possibly eat there in Moonbow Forest.
There was a feast,
A gathering,
An honoring of the female in all forms and also an honoring of the importance of the male.
Later,
Stephanie went home and laid down on her bed.
She felt different.
She felt more grown up for some reason.
But,
Most importantly,
She had a very deep,
Deep understanding of what it all meant.
And that felt very special to her.
Because she was special.
She was a woman.
