Heidi looses her glasses and has to go get a new eye test... This is a funny bedtime story, designed to help children settle down into bed, hopefully stay still long enough to help them fall to sleep!

Are you ready to meditate with Kari?

Are you ready to be very very still and quiet in your bed?

To let go of your day so that you can completely relax,

Fall asleep as the rest of the world is falling to sleep?

Heidi,

Cherry and Vea had been to the amusement park.

They'd been on a ride,

A roller coaster ride,

And unfortunately it was so fast and so crazy and so ridiculously ridiculous that Vea vowed she would never go on a roller coaster ride again.

Cherry absolutely loved it and Heidi lost her glasses.

Now unless you actually wear glasses you won't know what a trauma that is.

Losing your glasses when you rely on your glasses to see properly is a nightmare.

Luckily she didn't need to read very much or do anything close up while she was at the amusement park and she did end up having a good day still but by the time she got home and she'd had a shower and she was all ready to lay down in her bed and read her book and relax it was a nightmare.

Cherry said,

What are you going to do?

What are you going to do without your glasses?

I mean you can barely see with your glasses because you needed a new prescription or something didn't you?

What are you going to do now that you don't even have your glasses and you're even blinded than you were?

I mean that's absolutely ridiculous how you're going to be able to see.

Heidi said,

I know I can't read my books.

This is horrible.

Vea said,

Do you not have a spare pair?

Heidi said,

I do but my spare pair is really old and my eyes have changed since then.

I really did need to get a new pair of glasses so this has just pushed me to the point where I have to make an appointment,

Go and get an eye test and then get some new glasses with my new prescription and I'll be able to see just fine.

Cherry said.

This is kind of exciting if you think about it really.

It's like you know,

You get so used to seeing you in a certain kind of glasses.

This means you could get something really crazy or really different or really unusual.

You could like go all out and get like rainbow glasses or glasses with sparkles on like be-jingle-ing thing.

Not be-jingle-ing,

What is it?

Bling-bling-bling,

No.

Bling-bling-bling.

You could like get glasses with like all the bling-bling on and stuff.

You could even get like glasses with like little charms swinging off the sides.

Oh,

This is really exciting.

This is so exciting.

Vea said,

Me saw a pair of glasses one time that had like Princess Crown on the top.

OMG.

OMG.

Said Cherry.

That would be no.

No.

No,

Not for Heidi.

I don't think so.

I was going to say that would be so cool but no,

I don't think Heidi's.

.

.

No.

Heidi said,

No.

No,

Definitely not.

I was thinking that maybe I would get green.

I haven't got a pair of green glasses and I think I'd really like green.

Oh,

Said Cherry.

That's very exotic.

I like it.

I like it.

Heidi made an appointment and within a couple of days it was time to go and get her eyes tested.

All the cats went together.

There was one part of the eye test that Heidi didn't like at all and that's when the machine blows a puff of air into your eyes and it makes you blink and they do it a couple of times and you think,

Is this ever going to end?

But they don't.

They do it over and over and over again and it feels like torture.

But she had her sisters with her and she was going to be brave.

Cherry was going to see if she could talk the people out of it so that she didn't have to have that part.

They waited in the waiting room for a bit,

Met some other cats,

Met some dogs,

Met one guinea pig and then eventually it was Heidi's turn.

The lady that was doing the eye testing was very sweet and very kind which made it so much nicer.

She put her on all these different machines,

They put the machine on her eye and they said and now?

And Heidi had to say yes or no if it was clear or furry.

And now?

And what about now?

And what about now?

Cherry kept saying,

And what about now?

Can you see it now?

And what about now?

Is it blurry now?

Or is it clear now?

Can you see it?

What about now?

Faea just giggled and then proceeded to writing her diary.

She brought her new princess diary that she got for Christmas.

It was kind of like a journal where you write down all of your thoughts and feelings about the day.

And because it was new and it was the beginning of the year,

Faea was very,

Very keen on writing in her journal or diary every day about every single thing that happened.

Cherry said,

Oh Faea,

Do you have to do it now?

In this office?

I mean,

Maybe a little bit inappropriate,

Especially if you dropped it and somebody read it because it has all your secrets in it and all your deepest thoughts and feelings and fears and everything.

Faea said,

Hmm,

Me doesn't mind if anybody reads it because I'm an open book.

I don't want to hide who I am or anything like that.

I'm very proud of who I am.

I like all of my dark secrets and I like all of my,

All of my stuff that you think you're supposed to hide.

I'm fine with anybody finding it.

Cherry said,

Faea,

You're an absolute inspiration when it comes to stuff like that.

Me,

I've got so many dark secrets.

I'm not telling anyone.

If I tell anyone my dark secrets,

They'll run away.

They'll say,

Cherry,

She's really messed up.

We don't want to know,

Cherry.

We don't want to be Cherry's friend.

We don't really like Cherry.

We thought Cherry were great,

But you know,

Now we know all our dark secrets.

We don't think she's that great.

Heidi said,

I'm sure everyone would still love you even if they knew all of your secrets,

Cherry.

Cherry said,

Hmm,

Yeah,

I think you just be nice guys because I've got some serious secrets.

But anyway,

Anyway,

Lady,

What's your name again?

The eye doctor looked at Cherry and said,

Mrs.

White.

Right,

Said Cherry,

Mrs.

White.

Mrs.

White.

That's very nice.

It's very clean name,

Isn't it?

Mrs.

White.

Now,

Do we have to do the puffy,

Blurry,

Smoky thing in my sister's eyes because she's been dreading this moment and I don't think it's very appropriate because I mean,

What's the point in blowing in someone's eyes?

Mrs.

White,

The eye doctor explained that this helps the pupils to dilate and it does something fancy on the machine and they get to see if everything's okay behind your eyes and all of that stuff.

And then Cherry said,

Well,

You know,

Do you think just this one time that I could blow in her eyes instead because I love her and she'll know that I'm not going to hurt her and I could just go like that in her eyes really fast?

Heidi said,

Oh,

No,

Cherry,

I think I prefer the machine.

Cherry said,

No,

Seriously.

I mean,

I think you should let me do it.

I think you should trust me.

I think I'd be a really good eye blowing puffer machine thing because,

You know,

I've got lots of strength in me,

Me,

Me little cat lips and I could blow really powerful and then that way the machine could get to see everything in your brain and like down,

Down your throat and everything.

The eye doctor,

Mrs.

White,

Tried very hard not to laugh and answered Cherry very seriously.

Well,

That sounds very good and all,

But we only need to see certain parts of your sister's eyes.

And if she's not standing in front of the machine when it happens,

Then the machine won't see those parts and it would be a waste of time.

We really don't need to see her brain or down her throat or anything like that.

Cherry said,

Oh,

Shame,

Because I think I would have been really good at that.

In fact,

I'd have been so good.

You could have hired me.

I could have worked here.

I could have worked here and just been Cherry,

We need you.

Come blow in this person's eyes.

Come blow in this guinea pig's eyes.

Cherry,

There's a big giant dog outside.

Come blow in his eyes.

I'd have been there every single time.

I'm so reliable,

I'd be such a good employee.

I'd be so good at it.

Tell him,

Tell him,

Tell him how good I am at everything.

I'm so good at everything.

Heidi said to Mrs.

White,

The eye doctor,

She's very good at not everything,

But most things she's very good.

Faya said,

Yeah,

I can think of some things that you're not that great about.

Cherry said,

What?

Like what?

Like you tell me something right now that I'm not good at.

Faya thought about it for a moment.

I can't really think of anything right now in this moment,

But there has been times in the past when you definitely weren't that good.

Oh,

Oh,

That's probably true,

Said Cherry.

Yeah,

But right now in this moment,

You can't think of anything,

Can you?

So does it count?

Does it?

So Mrs.

White,

I'm good at everything and I would be really good at that.

And if you don't need a personal eye blower,

Then I could be a receptionist because that receptionist over there looks a little bit dull.

Let's face it.

Heidi said,

Cherry,

Cherry said,

Well,

I'm not being mean or anything,

But you know,

Like a receptionist is supposed to be happy and like really smiley and like really joyful and like,

Hello,

Welcome.

Are you ready to see Mrs.

White instead?

Look at it.

Look at it.

That were really miserable.

Cherry was pointing to a sloth that was the receptionist.

The sloth barely raised his eyes.

He could hear Cherry talking about him,

But he really didn't have the energy to react to it.

And he just went,

Oh,

Well,

I'm trying,

Said the sloth.

See,

Said Cherry.

I've had more interesting vaccinations than I have that.

Heidi said,

Cherry,

You're not being very nice right now.

Cherry said,

You're right.

You're right.

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry,

Mr.

Sloth.

I'm sorry.

But you know,

You could just like ram it up a little bit.

Maybe listen to some like,

You know,

Really jazzy music before you come in.

Jazzy music always jazzes me up,

Always helps me,

Like a bit of hip hop,

A little bit of jazz,

A little bit of,

You know,

Definitely not classical because classical music's going to make you want to just play the piano or like be really boring or like do ballet or something.

Rhea said,

I personally like classical music very much.

Cherry said,

Yeah,

You would.

Anyway,

Yeah.

So really fun music will help you.

Also,

If you get like a tickle scratch stick.

Heidi said,

What?

Cherry said,

Yes,

A little scratchy tickle stick.

Yeah,

A tickle stick tickles your back,

Tickles your armpits,

Tickles your toes,

Tickles your feet,

Tickles whatever you want it to tickle.

And it really tickles and it makes you laugh a lot.

And you could do that,

Mr.

Sloth,

Before you come to work.

And then you'll be like,

Good morning.

You'd be so happy because you've been tickled before you got here.

And who doesn't like being tickled?

Rhea said,

Cherry said,

Don't even go there.

So yeah,

Anyway,

I can't think of anything else that I could probably do here in this eye doctor place,

Maybe sort out glasses or maybe just like,

You know,

Be one of those people like,

Oh,

Like,

You know,

Like a really positive influence on people.

Like they'll try different glasses on and I'll go,

Wow,

Amazing,

Because I'm full of good things to say about people,

Even though I wasn't very nice about them.

Mr.

Sloth over there.

But I can be very positive,

Mrs.

White.

And I can say so many nice things about so many people.

I could just like pull things at me,

You know,

And I could say anything.

Like wow,

Those glasses make you look like the Queen of England.

Oh,

Wow,

Those glasses make you just look so smart.

Oh,

Wow,

Those glasses.

I wish I had those glasses.

Those glasses make you look so interesting and very pretty and very,

Very attractive and whatever they need to hear.

I could say it.

I could say it.

I just said,

Well,

You know,

You have to be honest,

Cherry,

In these situations.

You can't just give people fake compliments because that's not very nice.

Cherry said,

I'm not being fake.

Every single compliment I have in my compliment backpack,

I can,

I can,

I can vouch for.

I can say it's very true.

I just have to pick the right person for each compliment because sometimes you're right.

Sometimes if you give them the wrong compliment and you're like,

Say,

Oh,

You've got such lovely blonde hair and they haven't even got blonde hair,

They've got red hair,

Then you know you've given them the wrong compliment,

Don't you?

But on the plus side,

I've got so many compliments in my backpack that most of them work for everybody.

Let's face it.

Heidi said,

Okay,

Right.

Well,

It's time for me to go pick my new glasses and I'd really like an honest opinion.

Heidi tried lots of different glasses on.

Maybe 20,

30 pairs.

Some of them didn't quite fit her ears.

Thank goodness she found a pair that she didn't have to wear upside down anymore like her other ones.

And then she did find a green pair and Cherry was very honest.

OMG.

They're amazing.

They're absolutely amazing,

They said.

Mm,

Me just thinks they're perfect.

They're so nice.

They make the grey in your first and out so,

So nice.

Cherry said,

Yeah,

Awesome compliment,

Bea.

I would have just said the same thing,

But Bea said it first.

So good.

I really like them.

Really like them.

Get them.

Get them.

Heidi got the green glasses.

They looked so clear.

She could see everything.

It was like a brand new world.

Everything was focused.

Everything was perfect.

She could see the trees,

She could see writing on books.

She could see everything so clearly.

When they got home,

They all settled down on their bed and Heidi could read her book.

She read the cat's story.

It was a very long story,

But she didn't mind at all.

She could see every word so clearly.

Eventually,

Cherry fell asleep,

Bea fell asleep,

Heidi read a couple more chapters and then she fell asleep.

They had the bestest dreams that they'd had for the longest time.

The end.

Sapphire and I rode toward the sunset. Out of sight, I calmly slipped into a SkyWing form. Reds, golds, and oranges were my scale colors. I huffed. I did this with a car, I could surely do it with a horse. I wrapped my talons and shifted to a RainWing. My tail, although used for balance, I wrap my tail around her too, supporting her. We glided through easily, stopping on the side of a giant rock. We stopped and I freed my talons. I spread my elegent wings, sailing to the very top. This would be our new home. Hooves approached. “What did you do with them?” Liam demanded atop his horse. I looked confused. “Oh. You have Sapphire, What did you do with Moon?” I realized Liam was willing to risk being eaten by a dragon to save my life- or avenge me. “Oh. Liam. Oh shoot this is awkward.” I transformed into a human again. “Hi…” I stumbled foward into his arms. Pain rushed through my veins. There was skin violently rubbed off on one of my legs, making it nearly impossible to walk. My friends rushed over to see the damage my leg had taken. “Guys, get to making a home in this rock for them.” He said, holding me close. “Phoebe, can you build a railing so we don’t fall off? I have to have a medical center too. I’ll go collect… bandages.” He said, going to go collect seaweed or kelp or something soft for my leg. He eventually found something and tied it around the damage. It stung. I inhaled sharply and collapsed to the floor. He caught me and carried me to the hut they had made. They dug inside the rock, putting a canopy outside the entrance. They already had a bed shaped, they were adding the covers. I needed to rest. I lay on the bed, drifting off to deep sleep while the others finished putting on the bedding. And felt the soft kiss given by Liam. I has glassess
