Heidi Cherry & Vaya - Cherry's World

Heidi is trying to help Cherry understand that when she plays with her friends she is not always going to get her own way or get what she wants all the time. Cherry is upset, she has had a very hard week, some conflict and not so fun stuff happening with her friends.

Are you ready to meditate with Kori? Make sure that you're laying down in your bed. You've got out all of the whittles from your day. It's time to relax your body, Relax your muscles and allow yourself to start to drift off to sleep as you listen to the story. Cherry had had a pretty rough week. They'd been playing with lots of new friends, They'd gone on lots of adventures, They'd been to lots of different places. There was so much going on, It was super active and normally she loves all that stuff. But Cherry had had a rough week from the perspective that she'd had a bitter conflict with some of her friends. Cherry doesn't do too good with conflict. She doesn't understand why the world is the way that it is sometimes and that not everyone always gets along. And most importantly for Cherry is that she doesn't always get her own way. I just don't get it, Said Cherry. She was laid in bed, She was snuggling next to Veya and Heidi was trying to talk to her about the fact that sometimes you just have to compromise. Cherry said, I know, I know. You don't have to keep telling me, Heidi. I know that you have to compromise sometimes. I know that I'm not always going to get my own way. I know that everybody's different. You tell me these things all the time, But that doesn't make it easy. That doesn't mean that when it's actually happening and my friend won't listen to me and I want to play a ball game my way in a certain way, The way that I want to play and then my friend wants to play in her way and she won't listen to me and then I get really annoyed and then I think why won't she listen to me because my way is so much better. Because I'm so awesome and my way is always better. But I know it's not, But you know it is because if you just listen, I kept saying if you just listen and just try it my way and just do it my way. But silly Sally, She wouldn't listen because she thought she was going to do it her way and her way was better than my way and I didn't think so because I know that my way is better than her way. Heidi said, Cherry, Just take a breath. Can you hear yourself? Yeah. Heidi said, No, Can you really hear yourself? You're getting all upset just because Sally wouldn't do exactly what you told her to do. Cherry said, It's not just Sally. Tommy wouldn't the other day and then I were playing with Billy and he was being not very nice and I was like, Oh my gosh, What's happening this week? Like the whole world is against me. The whole world is against Cherry. And then now, Like now, Now I just want to lay down and feel very sorry for myself because I don't want to go out and play with anybody anymore because no one's nice. Everybody fights. Everybody like doesn't listen. No one, No one's, No one's just like, Yeah, Cherry, Let's do what you want. And you know, That's really annoying. And I was like, Okay, Compromise. You'd be so proud of me, Heidi. You'd be so proud of me. Won't she, Faya? Won't she? Faya said, Mm hmm. Cherry carried on talking to Heidi. And then, You know, And I was like, Okay, Compromise. I could hear you, Heidi, In my head. I could hear you saying, Just take turns or just listen to your friends or just relax. Don't be so stubborn or whatever you normally say. And I was like, Do one of those things that Heidi normally says because this week has been just so traumatic because no one will listen. So I was like, All right, Then I'm going to just do it. I'm just going to be like a really good friend and I'm going to do, Do what Heidi says because Heidi's like my mom, Kinda. And I did. And I said, Okay, We'll do it your way. And then, You know, What happened? Do you know what happened? We just have to keep doing it her way over and over and over and over and over again. And I was like, I'd be really nice and I'd be doing it your way all day. We'd be playing your way all day. And now, When I say, Let's do it this way and you've got no, I want to do it my way, I go, That's not fun. That's not nice and that's not fair. And that's when I was just over it, Heidi, And I came home. And now all I want to do is just not be happy. I want to, I want to be upset at the whole world because I'm really angry about the fact that no one gets along. And you know, You know, You know, I went to school the other day with one of our friends and they said that they could take me to school with them because everybody's back in school now and I went to school. And you know what? All the boys were doing one thing and all the girls were doing another thing. And the girls were like in circles talking about the boys and the boys were like laughing and messing around and throwing football at the girls. And I was like, What's this world coming to? Why aren't they all just playing together? Why aren't they just getting along? Everybody, Everybody's fighting, Heidi, And I'm just so over it. And I would like the world to just go the way that my world wants to go because I know that my world is awesome. They said, I totally understand how you feel. I feel like that sometimes when, When I'm playing with my friends and, And we're playing a game and, And I say, Maybe I could wear that pink dress. And then my friend will say, No, That's my special pink dress. And I always think, Aren't we supposed to share? Aren't we supposed to all just be nice to each other? And then I'll say, But wouldn't you like to share? And my friend will go, No. And I'm so sad. And that happens. Jerry said, Exactly, Exactly, Via. It's like, What's the point in being a nice friend if it's not going to be reciprocated? If that's the word, When it's not going to be like returned back. I mean, I know I can be a little bit stubborn and I know I can be bossy. I know that's part of my personality, But you know what? If I weren't bossy, I'd probably never get my own way. Heidi said, Oh, Cherry, Don't, Don't look at it like that. Jerry said, Well, How am I supposed to look at it? If I'm not saying no, Let's do it my way or else I'm going to biff you. And how am I supposed to be getting my turn in things because no one's listening? No one wants to take turns. Heidi said, I don't think getting angry about not having a turn is going to help any situation because all that's going to do is make your other friends that you're playing with angry. And then before you know it, You're fighting. And then you're upset about fighting again because the whole world is fighting. No one gets along. And then you didn't even realize that you're part of the problem because you were really bossy and pushy and not very nice to get your own way. Jerry said, Oh, I know, I know. Yeah, I can see it when you say it like that. I can understand. I mean, I'm not silly. I get it. I get that you're supposed to like, You know, Be a bit more chillaxed and all that. But in the moment, Heidi, It's so difficult and I'm so depressed now, I'm so upset, I'm so depressed and I don't want to go out ever again. And I just want to eat ice cream and candy. And I want to just like lay here with you two because I love you two and I know that you love me. And I'm not going to go out ever again because I don't want any more friends. I'm sick of friends. I'm over friends. I'm done. I'm not playing anymore. Heidi said, Oh, You're going to get so lonely. Jerry said, Oh, No, Darn it. You're right. I would. I'd be so lonely without my friends. I love my friends. But you know, Sometimes don't like them. You know, What's the best thing in the world when you go and you play outside or you go to school and you play games at break time and lunchtime and stuff and you have such a good time and it's so much fun and you have so many laughs and so many giggles and it's so funny. And then you love your friends, Don't you? You're like, Oh, I love my friends. They're like the bestest people in the world, The bestest cats or the bestest dogs or whatever they are, Your friends. And then like, You know, In the next minute, Literally the same day, Susie goes and says something that upsets you and then you don't want them anymore. You're like, I really don't like them. And then you could even say that horrible word. Heidi said, What's that horrible word? You know, The one where you say you hate people. Heidi said, That's not nice. Cherry said, I know, I know. But you know, People say it, Don't they? And they say it all the time. And it is such a horrible word. And I think, I think that no one should be able to say that word at all or even like mean it. I mean, I know sometimes I don't like my friends and I just said, I don't want to be with them ever again. But I would never say that word because, You know, I really do like, I don't, I think it's just that some people get so upset and they can't help themselves. And then they go say things that they don't mean. And then they're in trouble because they said something like that. Heidi said, I think it's best to just use calm down methods when you're with your friends so you don't get that upset. So if things aren't going your way, Cherry, Or your friends don't want to do what you want them to do and they're not listening to you and they're just ignoring you and you feel like no one's paying attention or you're not being heard, Then maybe it's time to just take a breath. And if you feel yourself getting upset, Then maybe you say, I don't feel like playing today anymore and come home. You come home to me or you come home to Veya and you talk to us about it. And then you get to calm down. You can come home and talk to mom or dad and just feel better instead of getting so upset and staying in the situation when you're upset. Sometimes it's best to just walk away and calm down. Cherry said, But what do you do if you're upset at school and you can't just leave, Can you? You can't just come home. I can't say I'm going home. Every time I get upset at school, If I go to school with one of my friends, Can I? Heidi said, No, But you could probably just walk away, Especially if it's lunchtime or break time. You could just walk away or maybe go to the restroom and take a few deep breaths and calm down and not take it so personal when people don't do exactly what you want them to do because unfortunately the world doesn't work like that, Cherry. People have their own ideas and their own agenda and not everyone wants to do what you want to do all the time. I know, Said Cherry. But to be honest with you, I really don't like it. I think the world should be a very different place. I think the world should just be like a cherry world. Cherry's world and everyone in the world does exactly what Cherry wants and then, And then, And then they'd all be like playing with me exactly how I like and, And everybody would make french fries the way that Cherry likes them and they make ice cream the way that Cherry likes them and, And nothing would be messed up and everyone would be as awesome as me. Heidi said, I think actually you'd be quite bored Cherry. Cherry said, Do you really think so? Heidi said, Yeah, I do imagine if everyone was just a clone of Cherry, There wouldn't be any variation. There wouldn't be any differences. There wouldn't be anything to be excited about or something new because everything would be just like Cherry in Cherry's world. Oh yeah, Yeah, I see what you mean. That would be really boring wouldn't it after about three years, Like three days maybe. Yeah, I get it. Alright, Well then I just don't want to talk about this anymore. I am, I'm not in the mood to like my friends just yet so I'm going to stay home, I'm going to watch a funny movie with my sisters and I'm going to eat some nice food and I'm just going to relax and forget about it and then maybe tomorrow I'll feel so much better and, And I'll like my friends again. But for now I don't like them because they didn't do exactly what I said. Vea cuddled in to Heidi and Cherry. Cherry cuddled in to Vea and Heidi. Then Heidi cuddled in to Cherry and Vea. Heidi turned on the movie. They snuggled down on their big soft comfortable bed and Cherry forgot all about the world being difficult. Friendship is sometimes difficult. Life is sometimes difficult. She had a lot of fun watching the movie with her sisters, Eating snacks, Feeling better and eventually she fell to sleep and forgot about everything. All was well in the world. In Cherry's world. Once again. The end.
