This guided meditation is a powerful focusing of attention into the present moment. Through simple but direct pointers this meditation focuses attention into the here & Now, directing attention to the fact that there is no gap between the observer and what is observed in consciousness. This creates a direct experience of the present moment and in the immediacy of this experience the mind does not have a chance to analyze, interpret or label the experience of Now, which brings the meditator to complete and total peace as pure consciousness. Begin by simply becoming aware of the sensations of breathing and awareness is enough.

So there is no analysis needed,

No interpretation,

No mental image,

Just awareness of sensation.

How does it feel to breathe?

Notice that the sensations of breathing are immediate.

There is no distance between your consciousness and breathing.

They happen simultaneously at the same time.

There is no gap between consciousness and sensation.

Everything spontaneously occurs together.

There is no separation.

Move towards this immediacy.

Allow the sensations of breathing to pull you into the present moment.

All mind activity happens after awareness.

So be strict and disciplined and simply never progress to the mind stage of observation.

Just remain as pure perception,

Awareness of sensation.

Just breathe and notice how it feels to breathe as an experience,

Not a thought.

Become fully aware of the present moment as it occurs immediately.

No gap,

No delay,

No separation.

Just be in the observation of now as the observation of now.

There is nothing to be done with what is perceived.

You might notice the temperature in the room.

You might notice the sounds.

You might notice the scent.

You might notice the darkness if your eyes are closed or the quality of light if your eyes are open.

See if you can be the receiver of all this information without any mind activity at all.

No thoughts,

No concept,

No analysis,

No mental image,

No interpretation,

No names,

No labels,

Nothing.

Just pure,

Immediate perception.

If you find that the mind is still busy,

Still chaotic,

Just notice the thoughts and realize your awareness of thoughts is also immediate.

There is no need to analyze thoughts.

Thoughts appear as spontaneously as the sensations of breathing appears.

Just be the clear,

Empty lens that perceives all of this,

The inside world,

The outside world.

Just observe in its raw,

Intense immediacy now.

Nothing to be done.

Everything is occurring,

Happening automatically.

Let go any tendency to try and control or change.

All things are simply appearing within your clear,

Pure,

Impartial observation.

If you find you have been pulled into the usual habit of analysis,

If you have become stuck or lost on a train of thought,

Just notice that this has happened and recognize that this noticing has already pulled you back into the present and let go of any sense of frustration.

Just be.

In a moment we will be leaving the formal aspect of this meditation,

But notice,

Perhaps with an amused curiosity,

That whether we are meditating or not,

It remains the present moment and you remain as the impartial observer of all experience unfolding.

Recognize the power you have to repeatedly step back away from the content of experience,

Away from the usual exhausting habit of analysis or trying to control things,

And instead just remain in the pure,

Resting,

Always at peace consciousness.

Thank you for doing this meditation with me today.

Take care,

Be well,

And stay present.
