Good morning.
For the next 10 minutes,
Be as though you haven't woken up yet.
As though your body and mind is still fast asleep.
The day has simply not begun.
All situations and circumstances can stay outside the door for this time.
And just feel a sense of being in the present.
There is no next moment.
There is no day ahead.
There is only now.
So simply enjoying the peace of the here and now.
There is simply no need for any thought or thinking.
Being in the here and now,
As though there is no such thing as days or time.
It's only ever the present moment.
So there is no need for worry,
Prediction,
Imagination about the future.
There is no future.
There is only now.
Nothing to be done.
There is nobody you have to be.
And your body and mind is still asleep.
You don't have to be anyone.
Just be at peace.
Nothing is about to happen.
There is no next moment.
Simply enjoy the peace of being in the here and now.
A sense of opening your awareness to the here and now.
Connect with the senses.
What are the sounds?
What are the sounds?
What is present in the visual field?
Noticing the temperature in the room.
And the scent.
All of the senses can be observed in the now.
Just this moment.
And nothing more.
Notice the sensations of breathing.
How does the breath feel as it rises and falls?
Just notice the sensations.
Recognize that the observation of the senses and the sensations of breathing all happen in the present.
Just this moment now.
There is no need to think about next.
There is no next.
There is only now.
So just being with whatever is present.
There is no day ahead.
All events,
Circumstances,
Situations,
Activities,
Conversations,
Will all happen in the present.
And anything happening in the present can be handled in the present.
There is no day ahead to predict,
To plan for,
To imagine.
Everything arising simply arises within the now.
So simply be open to the now.
The sensations of breathing.
The sense perceptions receiving the outside world.
And the present moments are always available to you.
To simply return to.
To re-center,
To re-focus.
There is a much deeper sense of groundedness and calm in the present.
And simply knowing that you can return to this presence is liberating,
Powerful,
Strengthening.
In a moment we will be leaving the formal aspect of this meditation.
But notice how quickly the mind wants to jump into its usual patterns of prediction and imagination,
Worrying.
See if it's possible.
Even in the midst of daily activity,
Work and relationships,
To just notice that everything takes place within the present.
You may not feel a profound and permanent sense of inner peace immediately.
But just introducing just a little presence throughout the day,
At various times,
Various intervals,
You find that things just begin to change.
