A remarkably direct full-power meditation in which the undeniably peaceful nature of awareness floods the body through precise body-scan guidance, flushing out the residues of the illusory egoic identity that had been present for so long. By washing the history out of the body, we become free to experience the fresh, new, vibrant energy of the Now and develop a new way of feeling bodily sensation, one that is far more accurate and aligned with your true self and true nature. This results in total peace, serenity, and ultimately true bodily health.

Transcript

First,

Establishing the peaceful nature of conscious awareness.

Awareness itself does not suffer.

Conscious awareness is aware of the body and mind.

But the conscious awareness is not the body and mind.

You are the awareness that is aware of all life experience.

And life experience may be comfortable,

Uncomfortable,

Pleasant,

Unpleasant.

Even painful.

But the awareness itself is just aware of these things.

So for the duration of this meditation,

Just being the awareness.

And exploring just how peaceful this awareness truly is.

Unmixed with the content of experience.

Allow this awareness to just be pure,

Clear,

Open,

Empty.

Awareness itself has no story.

There is no history here.

Nothing has led up to this point from the perspective of pure conscious awareness.

Pure awareness has always been here.

Just now,

Just now,

Just this.

This now is where you have always been.

So let go of any past or history.

Nothing led to this point.

It's always been now.

Conscious awareness is devoid of this history.

There is no story here.

There are no names,

Labels or numbers.

That are attached to conscious awareness.

It is fully open and empty.

Undefinable.

It cannot be placed into a category.

It cannot be divided up.

It cannot be constricted or restrained by any narrative,

By any words,

By any symbols.

It's just here,

Always.

Unchanging.

Eternal.

And just allow yourself to be this pure awareness.

What you are aware of becomes less interesting,

Less important.

Just remain as the pure piece of this blank,

Open,

Empty consciousness.

Everything just is.

And you are aware of everything that is.

And the awareness that is aware of everything that is,

Is always at peace.

It does not analyze or interpret.

It does not resist or avoid.

It does not prefer one thing over another.

It allows everything to be as it is.

And this awareness is aware of everything within your life experience.

So all is well.

As this pure,

Empty,

Peaceful awareness return to the body.

And feel the sensations of the body as though this were the very first time you have experienced them.

The awareness itself has no story,

Narrative or history.

And we will bring this pure,

Spontaneous awareness to the experience of the body now.

And flush the past,

Flush the history out of the bodily sensations.

Exploring each area of the body as awareness itself.

Do not identify as any of these areas.

Identify as the awareness that is experiencing the areas.

Flushing the ego out of the body.

Become aware of the sensations in the head.

Without any analysis,

Just pure observation.

Do not interpret,

Analyze or label anything.

The sensations in the head as they are now.

What are the sensations in the neck?

Just pure,

Open,

Empty awareness.

Experience sensation without narrative.

Around the collar bones,

The muscles at the base of the neck.

Into the shoulders.

Awareness without analysis.

Just observe.

What are these sensations now?

As though this was the very first time you experienced a body.

How do the arms feel?

The muscles at the front of the chest.

The ribcage and the chest cavity around the heart and lungs.

If there was no visual image,

You never learned anything about biology.

You're not interested in words such as physical,

Organ,

Body part.

What is the actual experience of a body?

Not as the mind interprets it,

But as consciousness experiences it.

Can you feel it raw?

Neat?

Unmixed?

Aware of the spine.

From the base of the skull all the way down,

Down,

Down to the lower back where the spine connects to the hips.

Bring awareness to this area.

No stories,

No narratives,

No person,

No ego.

Just consciousness.

The very first time all of this has actually been felt now.

New,

Fresh.

Into the stomach and the organs in the belly.

The muscles at the front.

Very first time encountering any of this just as pure awareness.

Do not let any story or narrative start to be attached.

Release the body from this ego.

Release the body from the story.

And the hips,

A very dense and heavy area.

Often saturated with the sense of individual ego.

Narrative,

Story,

A great deal of emotion stored within the hip and genital region.

So just returning to this area,

But now as pure awareness.

No narratives.

Nothing ever happened.

Ever.

You have never been touched.

Not once.

You are pure awareness.

There is no history here.

Just fresh,

Open.

And now,

This is the very first time you have experienced this area.

Without analysis,

What is this sensation?

Get the story out of your hips.

And give this area back to consciousness.

And you are this consciousness.

The top of the legs,

The joints,

Where the legs connect to the hips.

What is truly felt there?

Do not let any area,

No matter how deep,

No matter how deep the structure feels,

Do not let it fall into any subconscious pattern.

Letting nothing fall into the shadow now.

We are bringing the entire bodily sensation to the light of awareness.

Just what is.

Here and now.

Down through the thighs.

The bones in the legs.

And the hamstrings.

What is this sensation?

No visual images necessary.

Just the raw,

Experienced sensation as it is now.

Very first time any of this has been felt.

Into the knees.

Open.

Through the shins and calves.

Bringing that pure,

Fresh,

New consciousness into that area.

Devoid of any names,

Numbers,

Symbols,

No history,

No predicted future.

Just what is.

Into the ankles.

Deep in the feet.

And the toes.

And now the entire body.

It takes no effort to keep the entire body safely within pure observation,

Without analysis,

Without interpretation,

Without judgment.

The only task is to be aware as pure conscious awareness.

Just a sense of being.

And now releasing the body from service and return to the pure awareness.

Pull attention away from bodily sensation and just be pure awareness,

Unmixed,

Unmanifest with anything.

As though,

For a moment here,

The body,

The mind and the world is just an illusion.

A dream.

And wake up from this dream.

Let the universe vanish for a moment.

Empty,

Empty,

Empty.

There is no inside or outside.

There is no time,

There is no space.

There are no people.

There are no situations or circumstances.

There is just this.

In a moment we will be leaving the formal aspect of this meditation.

But as you re-engage with the usual life experiences,

See if it's possible to engage with ordinary life experiences as this pure,

Peaceful,

Conscious awareness.
